UPDATE: allkpop has just received info that KBS is trying to lineup at least 10 total artists.

Some of the top Hallyu stars will be coming to New York in October!

The free concert from KBS, open to all ages, will be held on October 9th 2011 at Randall’s Island Park in New York and will feature many top artists, the tentative list includes TVXQ, Wonder Girls, 2PM, B2ST, SHINee, Se7en, Sistar19, Lee Hyori, and 4Minute! (*Note: the lineup may change)

The concert will begin at around 7:00PM and is estimated to bring in about 10,000 fans.

The concert will promote the globalization of Korean culture through live music and performances in the US, but will also be featured in South Korea through a broadcast by KBS.

Without Hyori, I can safely pass on this and wait out for SM Town NY.

Otherwise, It'd be way too difficult to justify flying to the east coast twice in one month.

To be honest, I'd rather go to this for Hyori than SM Town as it's pretty much LA's SM Town but in NYC but I already booked flights for SM Town. A lot of thinking to do...

A concert organizer revealed to allkpop today that they had difficulties securing Randall’s Island Park, due to capacity issues.

Concert organizers are currently looking into alternative venues, and will provide allkpop with an update as soon as details are settled. Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for more info.

We’ve just received some amazing news — the Free NYC K-Pop Concert has been confirmed once again!

A concert organizer revealed exclusively to allkpop today that they had finally secured New Overpeck Park in New Jersey for their venue. The free concert was on the verge of cancellation due to capacity issues, but it seems that that it’s blown over for now.

Organized by KBS, the Free NYC K-Pop Concert will be part of ‘The 29th Korean Festival’, ‘The 15th Agro Exhibition’, and ‘The 20th Anniversary UN Admission New York Korea Festival’. This two-day event will focus on Korean culture on the first day, and be entirely dedicated to K-Pop on the second day.

Not only will the concert see performances from the hottest K-Pop stars, but there’ll also be a special mystery guest who’s only going by ‘Mister K-Pop Idol’ for now!

allkpop would like to emphasize that fans refrain from contacting New Overpeck Park for additional information. Again, please do not contact the park for additional information. The park will not have enough resources to handle the huge surge of interest from K-Pop fans, and it could aggravate another venue cancellation. Also, there will be no overnight camping at the park for this two-day event. If you have a burning question that you absolutely must ask, please hit up @eunduklee on Twitter.

allkpop will be there for both October 8th and 9th, so stay tuned for another surprise announcement!

I thought I read earlier that allkpop requested a number of tickets and got denied and that they were only available exclusively through the listed locations.
