Django Unchained (2012)
« on: October 14, 2012, 09:36:17 AM »

IMDB | Official Site | Wikipedia

Django Unchained is an upcoming Western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kerry Washington, and is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2012 in the United States and Canada. Principal photography started in California in November 2011, Wyoming in February 2012, and at the National Historic Landmark Evergreen Plantation in Wallace, Louisiana, outside of New Orleans in March 2012.

Django Unchained is set in the Deep South, and follows Django (Foxx), a freed slave who treks across America with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a German dentist turned bounty hunter. The title and setting of the film appear to be inspired by the 1960s spaghetti western Django and its many unofficial sequels, with original Django star Franco Nero having a cameo

I saw the trailer yesterday and thought it was some Johnny Depp flick (got it mixed up with "Rango").  I think after the kick ass role Christoph Waltz had in "Inglorious Basterds", Quentin Tarantino wanted to do another movie with him in it.

Aww yeah tickets copped! The movie opens here next Friday but I'm gonna see it at the Night Visions movie festival a day before. I'm a huge Tarantino fanboy and I usually watch all his flicks the week his new flick opens but this time I'm planning to watch some classic westerns like The Dollars Trilogy, Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django and the OG Django flick. So. Fucking. Stoked.

There is nothing iller than the Tarantino x RZA combo :yep:

Have to agree, a brilliant movie. Pleasantly surprised to find Walton Goggins on the cast list as well! Did I really see Jaime Foxx's cock?!

Yes you did.

CHRISTOPH WALTZ'S BUSHY BEARD, THOUGH.

I mean.. this film, oh god. I watched the film when it premiered in Norway (which was earlier this year), and I've had the soundtrack stuck on repeat ever since. I went and saw it for a second time, and am contemplating going in for a third. It's so emotional and powerful and hsdjfahskj I've yet to write up a proper review for my LJ (where I usually post things like that), because I don't even know where to begin with all these feels.

I apologise for double posting, but this is possibly the only Q&A session you'll ever need to see about this film:

I can't stop laughing at Jonah Hill feeling terribly out of place

Mr. Waltz is just full of sass. I love that he doesn't like/want to talk about his characters, and I |i]love[/i] that he is so vocal about it. I have always wondered if actors found the promotion work and endless interviews redundant and unnecessary. Well, I guess they do, they just don't have the balls to go right out and say it. Unlike Mr. Waltz, of course. Omg hahaha.
