Rio was in a television series ブレター (Love Letter) a few years ago (Fall 2008-Winter 2009), she portrayed a hearing impaired girl who is befriended by a boy her age who promises to be her ears.

This scene is with the child actors who portrayed the young couple when they first met. Next clip is with Rio, playing the the part of the girl during her teen age years.

Yukina Matsushima plays the young Minami Tadokoro. (Yukina and Rio do look similar. Ami Suzuki plays the adult Minami)
Takaaki Kuwashiro plays the young Kaiji Tsukagoshi.

Rio is in a new film, シャニダールの花 / Shanidaru no Hana (The Flower of Shanidar).

The film stars actor Gou Ayano and Actress Haru Kuroki. Rio has a strong supporting role as does actor Kanji Furutachi,
and actress Ayumi Ito. Up and coming 16 year old actress Yuiko Kariya also is featured.

here is a very brief plot synopsis: A strange phenomenon takes place. A beautiful flower blooms on a selected woman's body and that flower is called the "Shanidar". When the Shanidar is in full bloom, the flower produces a substance which is then sold at a high cost to develop new drugs. Kenji Otaki (Gou Ayano) works as a researcher at the facility where the Shanidar is grown.

The film will be released on July 20. Writer and Director is 石井岳龍 Gakuryu Ishii.
