I have waited many years for this, so I'm making a separate thread for Kasai Tomomi's 1st Photobook 

All I needed was a release date: February 4th!
It's a tad later than they announced initially, but hey...

What to expect?





How many copies will you buy?

Now that the initial shock has passed I can properly comment on it.

- Even though this falls in the "WTF Japan" category, I don't think the picture is morally wrong. Whether or not it's tasteful is a different issue. In a sense, I can actually see some comedy in the picture as well.
- It's a provoking picture, which is in line with this entire campaign. Acchan did the hand bra thing, so they had so to something different. Having said that, I'm not a fan of this.
- I know every girl is supposed to have their own image or character to make them stand out which helps to promote them. Kasai has always been the ero girl, but I think they (=HoriPro / other management) completely missed the ball. Kasai is most sexy as a teacher / nurse / cop / house wife / etc. It's a different kind of appeal! Those CD jackets failed horribly and so does this.
- I also think this forced sexiness is backfiring. The single sales weren't all that great and I doubt this PB will do well either.
- I think Kasai is awesome and she's been a top favorite ever since I discovered AKB48, but the Kasai from the past months is not that Kasai anymore. I don't blame her, but again, I think they're really trying to magnify her 'sexy chara.' That's the major flaw in this entire campaign. They should have just let her be herself.
- If they really use that picture for the PB cover then screw it. The inside pics may be gorgeous, I do want to support Kasai and I've been screaming for a Kasai PB for many years, but I'm not going to support something I don't stand behind. At this point I'd really much rather get Mayu's 2nd PB.

^ Totally agree on these. And not to mention this kind of marketing strategies might make her lose some of her casual fans (which was usually woman), since it is stretching her sexy chara far too much than what's needed (and taint her reputation even more ). She has always been the ero girl, but this is not ero, it's slutty chara and I don't like it, at all. It's just not like her. I don't know whether she was pushed to do this or it was something else, but it's feel like I lost the girl that I used to like and picked as my ni-oshimen. And that's kinda heart-breaking

Young Magazine is delaying the upcoming issue, because the Kasai PB previews have inappropriate content? 
They sure know how to hype a PB, that's for sure.
