X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
« on: May 12, 2013, 10:08:56 AM »

X-Men: Days of Future Past is an upcoming American superhero film co-written, produced and directed by Bryan Singer and featuring the X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. It is intended to be the seventh installment in the X-Men film series. The screenplay is written by Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn, and Jane Goldman, with Singer writing the story. The film is based on the 1981 popular comics storyline "Days of Future Past" by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. It is the third X-Men film directed by Singer after 2000's X-Men and 2003's X2.

Acting as a sequel to both 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand and 2011's X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past includes cast members from both: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, and Daniel Cudmore return from X-Men: The Last Stand, while James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult return from X-Men: First Class. Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing and Adan Canto round out the film's principal cast. Principal photography began in April 2013 in Montreal, Canada. The film is being shot in 3D.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released on July 18, 2014.

The ads for the Wolverine movie don't look too good to me, so I'm curious about this. So far away though D:

It's official: Peter Dinklage will play the role of Bolivar Trask a.k.a the creator of the Sentinels. Just as I thought after seeing the few on-set photos of him.

Hopefully this movie helps fix the mess that is the X-Men trilogy and first Wolverine movie.

X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Director Bryan Singer Reveals Full Size SENTINEL Prop on Set
Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 2:07 PM

This week the headlines have been filled with Sentinels. The X-Men Days of Future Past robot, mutant hunting antagonists have been all the rage since they were revealed via Fox's viral website for Trask Industries.

Director Bryan Singer, who has been diligent in using his Twitter account to send out production photos while the new X-Men movie has been filming, has now added a new image of a Sentinel from the ensemble movie. Check out Singer standing next to a full size Sentinel prop on the set of the movie!

This appears to be the Mark I Sentinel model from the 1970s timeline. When's the Mark X Sentinel from the future timeline going to be revealed? Stay tuned.

First trailer released today. And I gotta say is......this movie better make up for the crap the franchise has put out.

Now I'm tempted to look into the Days of Future Past story arc in the comics. All I know is instead of Wolverine going back in time to his younger self it was Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) and it was to prevent the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly which ultimately led the Sentinels to take over the world and put mutants into concentration camps.

Looks good but I was hoping that the First Class sequel would not focus on Wolverine.  First Class gave a lot of the other X-Men characters a chance to shine.  This one looks like Wolverine's going to get heavy focus again.

So.....Magneto assassinated JFK? Is this the central focus of the movie?

This article is also interesting to read.

Okay, so I finally saw this last night. I'd read the rave reviews, but I was still not prepared for it to be this fricking good. James McAvoy completely kills it as young Xavier.

I don't even know what to say, I just want to go see it again.

I see people pointing out continuity errors and plot holes, but I'm just like... I feel this film actually ties all the other ones together, including the original trilogy. Great, great stuff - it has definitely made me all hyped up about X-Men again, it's been a while!
