Somi is a solo artist under The Black Label. She debuted with "Birthday" in June 2019.

Half Korean, Half Dutch-Canadian, Somi was a JYP Entertainment trainee who gained fame by being a finalist on Sixteen (where Twice was formed) in 2015 and then winning the first season of Produce 101 in 2016. She subsequently promoted as a member of IOI, then in 2018 left JYPE and joined YG sub-label The Black Label, headed by Teddy Park.

I really dig this debut, the song is fun and works well with Somi's somewhat limited vocal ability. And Somi is this dorky and mildly eccentric girl crush through and through, this style suits her so well.

So yeah, I should probably reply to this thread.  XD

First of all, I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Somi at first.
I know many girls who look kind of similar, which made me biased against her.
But! She's definitely proven herself and I fully support her now. Loved her debut single.

She actually visited the Netherlands last year.

I'm not gonna lie, the fact that she's part Dutch definitely gives her tons of bonus points, haha.
