You know... I wonder what the hotel staff were thinking when we were taking photos of that sofa
LOL That's the main reason I didn't plant my face into the sofa... There were other people there........
But at least I sat in the same spot so I can say I had indirect ass-to-ass contact with Yossy.
They probably thought "I'll be glad when the Sakura Con is over...(Sigh)" Even though we brought them alot of $$$
ikr? Kei and I plunked down mad $$$ for the Grand Hyatt, but in the end it was soooooooo worth it. Besides being able to run into 1444 in our lobby, our room was SEXXXXXAY.
OK, I'll post the last bit of my SakuraCon report. This is what happened after the con was over and we were hanging out with the Japanese fans. Good times.
Our group chatted a bit, took some pics, then some ppl had to go... Kei was amongst them.
We said our goodbyes and Kei was off. Thank you Kei for bringing your Canadian beer and for waiting with me in line and calming me down whenever we met Yossy!!! LOL!!!
So the ppl left in our group were me, Ripusu, d12, Daigong, Za_Wolf, Rickker708 and some of the Japanese fans, Nao-kun (the one Japanese dude), Mae-chan (the only Japanese girl left who knew SOME English), Aya-chan and Mika-chan (the Yossy fans!).
We wanted to try to go somewhere for dinner. The Japanese fans mentioned wanting to eat at the Waterfront Grill, which from the Q&A, we learned that Yossy and Rika ate there. SOOOO we trekked out in the rain for blocks and blocks to find that very restaurant. While we walked, we all chatted with each other and whatnot. It certainly was a bonding experience.
I chatted a bit with Za_Wolf, and ATTEMPTED to chat with Nao-kun. d12 was somehow able to keep him occupied, despite both of their lack of knowledge of each other's languages. I do remember Nao-kun showing d12 and I pics from his cell phone. He had pics taken with Rika!!!! SO lucky. One of the pics he showed me was from a FC event with Rika in Hawaii. Ii na~ Ripusu was having a grand ol' time talking with Mae-chan, who knew Spanish! Nice!
When we finally got to the Waterfront Grill, I was impressed. It was a huge, fancy restaurant with an immense bar and a GREAT view of the water. We waited near the entrance to be seated. We continued talking about H!P and having fun in general. We were getting stares from the cooks... LOL We finally sat down and just... talked. Poe and Mae-chan did a great job keeping the conversation lively. We all talked about H!P, video games, and... well mostly H!P. Hehehe...
Some interesting/funny conversation points:
-Nao-kun and Mae-chan were Rika fans and Aya-chan and Mika-chan were Yossy fans. Every once in a while, throughout the walk to the restaurant and even at the restaurant, we would all get into a "RIKA IS AWESOME!", "NO, YOSSY IS AWESOME!!" type of argument. And every time, it would end in all of us agreeing that "ISHIYOSHI IS AWESOME!"
So cute.
-Aya-chan, Mika-chan and I doing "DOSUN!"
-Mae-chan comparing Rika's oppai to Mikitty's oppai. ROFL She was basically saying that Miki was flat compared to Rika. HAH!
-Ripusu trying to tell the Japanese girls that I was her dad... and me trying to dismiss it. Then Mae-chan said I was more like a maestro? master? We were confused. So then Mae-chan tried to clarify, saying I was like Master Yoda. WTF! Hilarious.
-Chatting about our second fave H!P members... I heard ppl say Ayaya, Mako... dunno who else. We also talked about fave kids. Mae-chan liked Umechan and Maimi. Ripusu flipped out at that. LOL!
-Oh snap, this reminds me of Mae-chan totally burning Aichan. Ripusu brought up how Aichan as Mr. Moonlight is pretty hot (this prompted another YOSSY IS AWESOME objection from me, d12 and the Japanese fans). Then Mae-chan pondered why Aichan was so popular... cuz she looks like a monkey!! We all cracked the hellll up at that. She kept going on and on about it. HILARIOUS.
-DarkSayu discussion... basically, DarkSayu is awesome.
-At some point, I tried to remember Miki's wota chant, "Miki-sama, Miki-sama, oshioki kibonnu!" but I replaced Miki's name with Yossy's.
Aya-chan and Mika-chan helped me remember the rest of the chant and so I said it and kinda did the dance. Aya-chan LOL'd that that. I guess I surprised her that I knew of wotagei. :miki:
Ahhh, I can't remember any more... but it was all good. I had to leave dinner early because I had to catch my flight home. So, I got some quick pics with my fellow Yossy fans from Japan (They're in Hitomi Club, so I told them about Hitomi Heaven
) and hugged everyone goodbye. LOL Nao-kun felt awkward when I came to hug him. I looked at him and he seemed unsure, but yet he still stood up to see me off. It was like...Do you want a hug? I don't care, I'm gonna hug you anyway... and I moved in and hugged him. LOL Weirdo.
As I rode away in my taxi, I felt sad... it really was a bittersweet ending to a great weekend. Got to meet Yossy a couple of times, enjoyed an awesome concert and shared all these experiences with new friends. Makes ya kinda warm and fuzzy inside. Not to sound sappy/cliché, but it's moments like these that make life so worthwhile.
