Google announced their newest social layer yesterday, after the failure of Buzz led them to re-examine what people want, and how they use the web. Plus, or +, which will inevitably lead to naming frustration, combines four facets: Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and Huddles, each supposed to make it easy to share, interact and ultimately categorize your friends.

Might have wheels if they embed this with future Androids

Although I have an invitation they won't let me create an account at the moment

They're over capacity~

I'm not too fond of social networks and don't have a fb or similar account but googles new approach looks interesting with those circles

NRK (Norwegian news) posted a little workaround on how to trick the system into letting you in, worth giving a go?

If you're already on Google+, make a photo album and share it with someone who isn't on Google+. This will send an e-mail with a link to the album, and on the album page there'll be a link to sign up for Google+.

They might have fixed this workaround by now, but it's worth trying out!

Is it working for everyone now? If not I can try to invite people but I think invites don't help much actually (I had one for 6 days and just now it worked)

I was able to join now too! They're probably just gradually expanding the numbers of test users, because it's still in limited Field Trial.

Anyway, I made an account! Who else is in? Post your info, I'm definitely making a JPH!P circle 8D

Hangout is better than I imagined @_@! I've only been able to test it with one other person so far, but up to 10 people can be in the same hangout. Hello potentially awesome JPH!P hangouts~ :DD

Interesting, slimmed down concept. Easy enough to grasp. Not really sure if it's possible to search for contacts you already know IRL but I suppose that'll work itself out when the service goes totally public.

You can search for people by their e-mail address or by their full name. I think it also might be possible to sync your contact list, if you have a contact list set up for your Google account. :]

Anyway, I just discovered that I have invites, and they work! (at least at the moment). Let me know if you want one!

The site is in a limited field trial. There'll be a few bugs here and there. Just have patience. They seem to have sorted that particular thing out now, I'm not getting the pop-up anymore.

Lol I was retweeting an official tweet from Google+, but whatever. Invites work.

Unlimited invites, but they're only given out at certain times and the people who're invited need to use them before the sign-up period closes back down again. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I don't know. That's how it seems to be going down.
