A-Rod already has 100 RBI's for the season. The guy is a RBI machine. Why can't he do it in the playoffs though?  :P

Just read that Bud the Commish will be in attendance whenever Barry hits #756.  That is, I read a quote of his from some PR release.

Yeah, like he really means it.

Fuck you, Bud Selig.

Tom Glavine got career win #299 today against the Pirates, 6-3, in Shea.  Wagner shut the door in the 9th and one more to go for the veteran southpaw.  Best of luck to him in his next start!

haha Sab has a Xanga. That's AZN-errific! TRUE. Big ups to the fans for recognizing history when they see it. Meanwhile, ESPN and FOX sports is wall to wall on the whole matter.

Tom Glavine nabs 300 wins. AWESOME.

... oh yeah A-Rod got 500 HR too. Youngest to do so. What a milestone weekend!!

Absolutely GREAT piece from Deadspin's Will Leitch about how "Bud" Selig has been an even greater disgrace than Barry Bonds: http://deadspin.com/sports/bud-selig/bud-seligs-fortnight-from-hell-287376.php

Selig surpasses all the evil that is Barry Bonds.  May he rot in the pits of Hell.

Brian Gunn, author of the late, great Cardinals blog "Redbird Nation," on Barry Bonds and 756.

Live with it, fellow fans.  At least until the next decade when A-Rod (who gets almost as much hate as Bonds) gets it in gear.

Not unless you buy Canseco's promise of another bombshell in his next tell-all book.

I am stunned by the inability of the Mets and Cubs to do away with the Nationals and Marlins, respectively.  Seems like ANY Senior Circuit team is gonna get crushed in the Series.

And what's with this "debate" for the presidency of "Red Sox Nation"?  http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20070925&content_id=2229097&vkey=pr_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos

Jerry Remy is a dumbass for going after Bill Simmons...  My vote goes to Gammons.

Trying to follow all the madness on the final day of the regular season.

So far...

Mets losing big.  Phils winning big.  Padres trailing.  Rockies can't score in Coors Field?!!

I'm loving it!

Mets LOSE.  Phils WIN.

Biggest collapse in MLB history for the Mets?  Maybe: this team, the '95 Angels and the '64 Phils.

Scott Hairston two-run jack, top 13th.  Still zero outs, man on first.  8-6 Padres over Rockies.  Hoffman warming up for the finish...
