James Bond theme gets first play

Jack White and Alicia Keys' theme for the new James Bond movie has had its first airplay.

Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley debuted Another Way To Die on her morning show. The track will feature in Quantum of Solace which is out on 31 October.

The song, which is the 22nd Bond theme, is driven by White's trademark fuzzy guitar riffs and thunderous drum rolls.

The pair were announced to score the track in July despite Amy Winehouse being hotly tipped for the role.

The track sees the singer trading vocals with Keys over a horn section with White singing: "Another tricky little gun giving solace to the one that'll never see the sun shine."

Keys responds with: "Another inch of your life sacrifice for your brother in the nick of time."

Thoughts? Will need to listen to the song in it's entirety but it sounds just ok. Didn't really like 'You Know My Name' at first but grew to like it. I imagine this might be the same.

Bond's famous catchphrases are dropped

The director of Quantum Of Solace has dropped some of James Bond's most famous catchphrases as part of a move to bring the secret agent into the 21st Century.

In his 22nd screen adventure, the operative will not make his classic introduction "The name is Bond, James Bond". Nor will he order his martinis, shaken not stirred.

Director Marc Forster told The Independent: "There was a 'Bond, James Bond' in the script. There are several places where we shot it as well, but it never worked as we hoped.

"I just felt we should cut it out, and Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson (the film's producers) agreed, and Daniel [Craig], agreed too. It's nice to be open-minded about the Bond formula. You can always go back to them later on."

Editor of the online 007 Magazine, Graham Rye, said that Craig is much closer to creator Ian Fleming's vision of the British agent.

"The Bond films had become tired and needed reinvigorating. Rather than going away from Fleming I think the producers have gone back to him," he said.

The movie will get its first public screening at the BFI London Film Festival at the end of next month.

OH SHIT LOVE FIELDS. Fuckin great ass. Great Dr. No tribute? Where she was nude with oil all over her. Olga I wanted her to be naked so bad but I could live with some armpits. Just wanted to taste that pussy. She needed more scenes but I'm glad she got her revenge. Reminded me of Princess Bride. Plus Bond didn't fuck her. Amazing. Just a kiss.

Quantum of Solace was a big disappointment after Casino Royale.

Spoilers:
There was a lot of action, that's not bad. But fast cuts, swinging the camera randomly and being out of the focus made it difficult to watch all this action.  The plot was way too simple. There was no twists at all. Having read that in this movie Bond goes totally Rambo and kills in rage avenging his dead girl, I was somewhat surprised that Bond didn't really kill so much. All the killings that M ranted about, were pretty much "kill-or-be-killed" kind of situations. And when Bond finally had his chance for revenge, he just gave up. I wanted to see rage! RAGE! Ok, he killed the bad guy. But being the final boss fight, the match was so uneven --and uninteresting. Bond vs. squeeky nerd. The Greene didn't have a chance. A cool henchman would've been great, but instead of coolness he had went with the guy who wore a collar half of the movie and had an awful haircut.
