The First Strike

“Eh?” I gasped.
That voice. I felt Eri’s grip suddenly strengthen. We both turned our heads to the owner of the objection. I blinked. She shook her head disapprovingly. I blinked again.
“…JunJun…? I questioned in disbelief.

Wait...it was Junjun?!?!? 

“It’s completely wrong. Seeing two girls, even the idea of it, makes me feel sick,” she stated.
She glanced at me and Eri’s linked hands for a mere second and gagged. The rage… it was coming back.
“Li Chun!”
Everyone snapped their heads to LinLin.
“You are being rude! There is nothing wrong with them dating!”
“It’s gross! This would never be allowed in China!”
“We’re not in China anymore!”
Both girls glared at each other, neither giving up their argument.

Oh crap. The pandas are fighting.

Aichan's is particularly painful, I'm sure, considering she's the leader of the group and is looked up to by all members. She can't help it though if that's how she feels about it. 

I sadly looked back at Ai-chan one last time.
“I thought that you of all people would support me,” I murmured, before dashing out the door with burning eyes. My best friend had rejected me.

“How could she?” she asked,” how could any of them? I thought that Morning Musume was a family that would support each other through anything.”
I stared at the cracked wall. I gathered my thoughts.
“…She’s doing what’s best for the group,” I said in a hushed voice.
Her head shot up, her blood-shot eyes staring at me in disbelief.
“Gaki-san…what are you saying?”
“She just wants what’s for the best interest of the group…”

Even without the personal stake involved, Risa (as subleader) knows that Aichan's decision has got to be based, at least in part, on the needs of the group. As leader, Aichan will sometimes (nay, often?) have to put the groups' needs/desires ahead of her own personal ones.

Still sucks though.

“Eri,” I said, “I can get through this if I’m with you and only you. So, please, don’t leave me…”
“I felt Eri press her lips onto mine.
“I would never even think of it.”

We kissed again. Suddenly the door opened.
“Eri? Niigaki-san? Where ar-“ Sayu stopped mid-sentence.
Me and Eri broke apart. A huge grin crept onto her face.
“Uhuhu, let me guess; Eri’s fetish?”

Ai-chan!! How could you?!?!?! *wails* You should support Risa. At least Sayu is on their side. Great job Aika and Lin2. I like them more already.

I was so sad when Eri hit Gaki She should have slapped Ai instead I can understand why Risa is defending Ai. It does seem possible that she was thinking in the interest of the group. *sigh* Relationships can be so hard.
