It's a month and a half into the season and the Indians still can' freakin' hit.

Hmm.... I guess the Yankees are waking up, huh?

No flavor of the month this time at the Compound.

Of course the Yankees are heating up. Anyone who said that they weren't going to make the playoffs this year is an idiot. With an all star lineup like that, how could you NOT make it?

Oh, Mariners are sucking...as usual. There's always next year? Pfft, I've been saying the same thing for a damn decade.

BAH!! Yankees are like playing Oakland and Seattle back to back to back practically!! Let's see how they do against the White Sox or Orioles.

I wonder if the Yanks, at this moment, still wish they'd signed Carlos Beltran instead of the Unit?

That said, ten in a row ought to wake up the Bosox.  But what's this about Torre letting Pavano throw 133 pitches?  And can Giambi keep it up?  I hope so.

I wasted $40 for really nice tickets... Why did Pavano have to pitch a shut-out, gawd...

^ 40 bucks. that's decent. where'd you sit Pure Racer?

Hmm....as long as the Yanks got A-Rod   now they pulled ahead of the Red Sox.

The biggest surprise is what Ozzie Guillen has done to the ChiSox.

David Pinto had a great line on A-Rod yesterday:

His 30th birthday is July 27th, and he's likely to be well over 400 homers by then. He'll only need to average 30 homers a year during his 30's to reach 700.

I wonder how much it would cost the Yanks to lock him up to a long-term contract?

Yanks SWEPT by the KC Royals?!?

Quote from: the Associated Press
The Yankees were swept by the worst team in baseball, falling 5-2 to the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night for their first five-game losing streak in more than two years.

I can't wait for Steinbrenner to crack.

Shit. You knew when they beat up on Oakland, Seattle, and Detroit it was too good to be true. The Red Sox brought em back to earth and BBBLL-aAWOOWW!!

How about Ranger fan (Thimas): what do you think of Roger Clemens possibly joining the staff?

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- After being thoroughly outplayed by the undermanned Minnesota Twins in their sixth straight defeat, it's clear that everything is going wrong for the New York Yankees.

If George Steinbrenner was upset before, he's really going to be angry now.

King George had also better take a second look at his COACHING staff, too, beyond Torre.

Rocket Roger
« Reply #35 on: June 05, 2005, 05:00:38 AM »
I doubt the Rocket will leave Houston, either.

Why'd he leave the Yanks in the first place? He might never get another chance to see his son(s) play high-school ball.  And why leave the home cooking just cause you had bad run support for a couple months?

I say he stays. Besides, who else is gonna pick up his contract?

Seattle's actually winning for once...I guess it's nothing to be excited about since it was against the Devil Rays.

I'll say it again: this is one bizzaro story; the double celeb angle only makes it more attractive for the tabloids.

Is Sasaki on an active NPB roster?  Is he even effective anymore, in his late 30s (I suspect not).  And do baseball players in Japan get blacklisted for wavering morals? (I doubt I'll be seeing Enomoto in any new J-dramas ever again.)
