Tsunku's Successful Surgery on Recurred Cancer After N.Y. Performance

Summary:

    Producer Tsunku (45) sent out a press release making an amendment to his earlier announcement that his cancer had been cured.

    Tsunku was told that his cancer had gone into complete remission, but he continued to have pain, swelling, trouble breathing and a raspy voice. He had many tests performed at many hospitals, and the doctors assured him that his discomfort would ease up in time.

    Earlier this month, Tsunku accompanied Morning Musume to New York for their concert, but after arriving he received the call from Japan that cancer had again been discovered. After the concert ended, he immediately returned to Japan, underwent surgery, and is recuperating.

    He made the same announcement on his blog, where words of encouragement from fans have piled up, and Tsunku promised to return in full force.

Dear everyone, thank you for your continued support.

 

 

In regards to my illness, I had just made the announcement the other day that it was a “full remission” but,
allow me to make a revised announcement.

 

 

The doctor had said, “You’re in remission, aren’t you” and such so, I brought my family along to see Morning Musume ’14 in their concert in New York this month.

 

 

The swelling in my throat, the difficulty speaking, and pain continued even after radiation therapy and molecular-targetted drug therapy. However, I had gone to several hospitals and taken a countless number of tests and heard, “these are the after-effects of treatment so you’ll recover before long.”
And the other day, they said “remission” which made me feel relieved.

 

 

And yet, even when it became September, I was worried about the swelling and pain in my vocal chords, the difficulty breathing, and huskiness in my voice. So, just to make sure I went to have another “biopsy of the vocal chords.”

 

 

In consideration of my family, I had planned on taking things easy before returning home after the Morning Musume ’14 concert as well but, immediately after arriving to New York I received a message from Japan that said “we found cancer.”

 

 

“That’s ridiculous…”

 

 

After the Morning Musume ’14 concert, I immediately cancelled my plans,
and in the midst of “shock” or “disbelief” I quickly returned to Japan.

 

 

Immediately after returning to Japan, tests, hospitalization. And then, surgery…

 

 

But even in all of this commotion, I received the best efforts of the doctors and nurses. They announced that they were successful.

 

 

I will be recuperating for some time but, I will come back once I’m better so please wait for me！

Tsunku♂ undergoes surgery after being diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time

It's been revealed that Tsunku♂ has been diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time.

Tsunku♂ went on hiatus in March for laryngeal cancer treatment. Then in September, he announced that he was getting better after getting the cancer removed. On October 17, he updated his official website, "I would like to make a revised announcement." He revealed that he started experiencing swelling and pain in his vocal cords, and noticed his voice becoming hoarse. After having a biopsy on his vocal cords, he was found with cancer again. Since then, he's had a successful surgery and is currently undergoing treatment.

Tsunku♂ ended on a positive note saying, "I will be taking a rest for a while, but I will become healthy and come back again, so please wait for me!"

We've all been witness to our fair share of shocks/surprises as idol fans, but this.........this is................just...........damn. 

There has been some discussion on English language threads
that the full meaning of Matsuda's comments may have not have been accurately
Interpreted.....

However, the fact that the problem reoccurred necessitating this most recent surgery
certainly points to removal, and thus loss of voice.

Most important is a young family really needs Tsunku san as much as he needs them. May all the
wishes of fans provide some comfort to the Tsunku family!

In any case, that is some sad news from the party.  It isn't fair sometimes but we have to deal with it somehow.

His mind is still there and no visible voice doesn't take away that

Does this mean the permanent disbanding of SharanQ? Perhaps a H!P or Up-front frontwoman whose singing capability that Tsunku himself trusts may get his blessing to take over the duty
It can even be a member of the active groups e.g. Risako, Oda or Airi seeing as SharanQ currently is as active as Buono

A super-short clip that apparently is supposed to address it? It'd be nice if there was a translation for what the guy said.

I gave celebration massage in the entrance ceremony of Alma Mater

So, I can't speak.
That's why I didn't read loud in the stage.

In the middle of January, I started Kick Boxing.

It's a devastating piece of news, but I'm glad we still have him around even if it came with a heavy price. In a way, his voice will never be gone, nor will his music. He seems optimistic and still wants to contribute so that's good. :3
