UmeYuu (Umeda Ayaka & Oshima Yuko)
Oshima Yuko.
I miss her.
Ever since I was appointed as Team B Captain last 2012... and now I have been transferred to NMB48, and she's already a graduate. Sigh. It seems our roads can never get closer to each other.
I feel so alone even though I can see people dancing around. I can hear ear-pumping music and see flickering lights.
I love dancing and even though how inviting the song is, I'm not in the mood to dance.
I am waiting for her... even though I know that she will never come.
I ordered one more bottle of whiskey. It's a cold night and the thought of her makes me feel colder. I needed some warmth.
Her smell, her voice... I still remember it. It's been a long time since I last saw her. What could she be doing now? Is she also thinking of me? Hahaha... That's impossible... If she only knew my feelings for her. If she only knew that I love her...
My daydream suddenly stopped when I noticed someone approaching near me. The person sat in the seat beside mine. I can smell her perfume... and it smells just like her -- just like my Yuko.
'What if she's really Yuko?', I thought to myself. I don't have the courage to look at the lady beside me. My heart started beating fast. My hands were cold and shaky...
"Umechan?"
The girl beside me said. She really is Yuko. I looked at her as I try to keep my cool composure while my insides went crazy. The beating of my heart keeps on getting faster and faster, I hope it won't explode!
She was smiling and that made my heart melt. I smiled back. We exchanged greetings and had a little talk.
"It's been a long while since I last saw you... I never thought of meeting you here." she said while smiling.
"Uhm... yeah, me too." I can't find the words to say. I hardly spoke.
"You should not drink lots of this..." said Yuko while pointing to the bottle of beverage near me. "How can you drive home if you're already drunk? Tsk. Tsk. You should have brought someone with you."
I laughed a bit.
"Eh? Why are you laughing?"
"You speak like my mother. I'm old enough now."
"Oh yes... but still... I'm taller than you!"
We laughed. Then, she stopped talking. Words left us.
After a few minutes of silence between us. Yuko finally spoke.
"Let me drink half of this bottle you ordered..."
I agreed. We started our conversation again. I can still feel my fast heartbeat but now happiness took its reign. Most of the time, she tells jokes...
I miss talking to her like this.
When we are about to finish the bottle of whiskey, her cellphone rang.
"Excuse me, I'll just answer this."
She went out of the bar.
Few minutes passed. She was walking towards me.
"Who called you?"
"Oh... Nyan nyan... We had a little quarrel this early morning. She called to apologize and she asked me if I would like her to wait for me until I come home. Of course... I will not let her wait longer... That's why --"
"You're gonna leave now?"
"Uhm... I'll leave after we finish this bottle."
"Oh... Okay..."
A brush of sadness passed by me.
She sat again. Few more shots and she'll be leaving. What will I do? Will I tell her that I love her? Or will it be better if not? I'm confused... and I think she noticed it.
"You're thinking of something? Er -- do you have a problem?" asked Yuko. She looked really concerned.
I don't know what to say... All I know is that... The truth will set you free.
"I love you." I said to her while looking straight at her eyes. She looked so serious.
She broke away from my gaze.
"Uhm... Umechan... Please stop joking..." She tried to smile even though she really looked bothered.
"I'm not joking." I said seriously.
She drank her last shot.
"Oh... the bottle's now empty!" She smiled at me.
"I should go now... Nyan nyan will earn more eyebags if I don't go home at this moment." She really tried her best to give me a genuine smile... But all I can see in her face was confusion.
I kept my gaze on her... but she went away. She left me alone.
"A glass of Martini, please."
The waiter handed me my order. I looked at the sweaty glass. It was filled with the drink and ice. I felt a bit colder.
I think it was a bit odd but I can hear the song "End Roll" playing now... I don't know if it's only my imagination or it's real.
It keeps me from remembering the times when the two of us danced in that song... Her soft tap on my shoulder... I keep on feeling that she's just beside me... but now... Tears started to fall.
I hope she'll be happy with Kojipa. Because... knowing that she's happy will now be enough to make me happy, too.
I want to be free from my imprisoned feelings... and now, I am free... and I am hurt. I'll drink this over. I'll pretend everything was just a dream.
