From the bottom of my heart, I have to thank you very much for always supporting Morning Musume。 and Hello! Project.

Without delay, I have an information concerning Morning Musume。.

There will be a modification concerning the group's name Morning Musume。.

From the 1st of January 2014, the name of the group Morning Musume。 will be "Morning Musume。'14" (モーニング娘。’14 in Japanese). The way of reading the group's name is "Morning Musume One Four".

On 2014, Morning Musume。 kept this group's name for 17 years. From now on, to leave no doubt like "About when has this single song "XXX" been released!?" or "During which period did the member "XXX" take part of Morning Musume。?", the year will be displayed and the group can continue its activity after this for 10 years, 20 years, 30 years.

Therefore, the 1st January 2015, the group's name will become "Morning Musume。’15" (Morning Musume。 One Five).

Well, it might become confusing and might give up lol, but at any rate, from the New Year's Day, please support those girls who will become "Morning Musume。’14"!

The 55th single of Morning Musume。 '14 will be released on 29th January 2014. From now on, a new feeling will start!

I see what they/tsunku is trying to do but this is just a crazy thing. girls are coming in and out like crazy and if ppl want to research a song/member that's what the internet is for.... all in all I hope it wont last long. it sounds like a watered down ver of akb48 but with changing it every yr...

'HEY! HEY! HEY!' to air as a special program in the New Year
December 7, 2013

Fuji TV's special program 'HEY! HEY! HEY! MUSIC CHAMP' will air on January 13th.

In Fall 2014, 'HEY! HEY! HEY!' will celebrate the 20th year since the program first started. The special program will feature Arashi, Kanjani8, and Morning Musume as the guests.

Arashi will be inviting celebrities such as Arimura Kasumi, Ishihara Satomi, Uehara Koji, Ogura Tomoaki, Funasshi, and Rola who will share their "things they want to ask Arashi". Meanwhile, Morning Musume will show off their characteristics and talents to Downtown.

There will be more artist besides Arashi, Morning Musume, and Kanjani8 appearing on the show.

For me, the big thing here isn't just that it's been announced that they're going to be appearing on this, but rather, it's that they're one of the first guests to be announced, instead of being one of the last ones. Being one of the first ones shows/implies that they definitely were on the list of groups/artists that they wanted on the show, so they made sure to book them early to ensure that they could/would come; and when I say "instead of being one of the last ones", I mean in a "Ok, we still have some time to fill up, who else is out there that we can bring in to use it up?" kind of way.

So yeah, so maybe they didn't get on Kohaku this year, but who knows? It may just be overly hopeful/optimistic, but it could be that 2014 (stupid name change notwithstanding) will see more bigger and better things for MM.

Summary: For the dokkiri ("prank") corner, we have set up the most elaborate morning wakeup call prank for Morning Musume, who are currently riding a new wave of popularity. On the pretext that they are headed somewhere else for work the next morning, the members were taken to a building to stay over for the night. While they were sleeping, we dismantled the walls and transformed the place into a concert hall, and then placed 500 of their fans in the audience to wait for them to wake up. Will they be able to perform while still sleepy?!

EDIT: This will be airing on January 2nd 18:30~22:00 JST. Well that's the time slot for the 3hr special, so the dokkiri will be somewhere in that slot. I'm sure my wota friends in Japan will keep me updated

Morning Musume aims for 2014 Kouhaku through “reimportation”

Morning Musume producer Tsunku♂’s (45) plans for Momusu’s worldwide advancement are beginning to materialize. To their regret, Momusu were not elected to appear at the influential NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen this year. On the 28th at the final show of their “Concert Tour 2013 Aki ～CHANCE!～” (Tokyo, Nippon Budokan), leader Michishige Sayumi (24) greeted the audience in an MC: “It was a good year even if it’s a shame about how it’s ending. But we’re going to keep being positive and doing our best!” While the rest of the members seem bitter about it as well, Tsunku♂ has already set his sights to the next stage outside the borders of Japan.

As an anonymous source involved in music points out: “the musicianship of Momusu is their greatest asset.“

In recent years, Momusu has adopted the EDM (electronic dance music) genre that’s popular worldwide, aiming for a further evolution in their performance. Furthermore they now feature complex formation dances done in beautiful form.

The aforementioned source adds: “Right now the popularity of Momusu overseas is amazing. While groups like AKB and Momoclo are popular, too, Momusu surpasses them on that front. While there’s of course the language barrier, they have the weapon of “musicianship” that other groups do not possess. Whereas in the past Momusu were known in large part for their TV personalities who appeared on variety programs, now they are seen as artists. That’s their strong point.“

He says that next year they will increase their promotional activities in the West. Tsunku♂ has started planning to have the group break internationally before having them appear on Kouhaku next year through “reimportation.”

^I was watching this at work and couldn't stifle my giggles. My colleagues were asking me what was wrong

Sayu running back to the futons
Harunan putting in contacts
Fukuchan missing her line while Ayumi helps her with her glasses
Zukki and Eripon going through the motions with a "buhhh...wha?" face I particularly liked Zukki's "janai" *yawn*
Then Riho and Sakura being super on the ball from the start. Riho: "The mics are there!" Sakura: *goes straight to her mic*

I still can't get over Sayu running back to hide under the covers

But what's most amazing is their What is Love performance, 2 min and 30 second after waking up and performing Love Machine (warming up? ). Seriously, this gives a whole new meaning to "can do this in their sleep". Despite their pitch wavering at parts, everyone more or less stayed on tune and never missed a cue and the formation changes were done perfectly. Riho looked like she was born to dance Seriously, that kid. Let her dance and everything's good She even nailed her big solo in What is Love. Though I must say Sakura shone a great deal in her solo lines for Love Machine. So brilliant. Sasuga Morning Musume '14!

Also, the night before I can't believe they cut out Maachan's suggested game "the pants-dropping game". WHAT KIND OF GAME WOULD THAT BE.
