I agree on the comment about Sakai Masato but I've seen him more on movies rather than on dramas.

Triangle was another good drama he was in but the best thing he's done was the TV movie Yonimo Kimyona Monogatari from 2008, he played one strange character but did a really good job at it.

From TV Guide, top of the second pic looks good too.
