Any suggestions, ideas what should be done with this challenge next year? :3 Do we want it to make a comeback (but maybe, er, lose the 52 in 52 aspect)?

EDIT: I guess that's a no?

I still want a comeback! I'll take on 12 in 12 again and maybe hope to do even better this time! I don't know what else you could do with the challenge. Was thinking maybe something like a book club, where a game is assigned each month and those taking part play it and offer a review at the end of each month. But then you'd have to arrange which game to play, new games are expensive, people might not have the right console or PC to play it if it's an exclusive and ultimately I prefer reading impressions from people on the games they choose to play as I get to better know their likes or dislikes and it might open my eyes to a game that I wouldn't have considered otherwise.

^ I was thinking something similar to what you're talking about. Like each month is a specific genre (like RPGs, fantasy, indie, adventure, etc.) Or how about we select games that we've bought that we've never got the chance to play or complete? I know I have a couple of games on my backlog that I haven't tried out yet.   All I know is next year I'm sticking only to the 12 in 12 challenge. I'm burnt out playing a game each week and trying to complete a game each month.  :depressed:

OK it shall be back then. Honestly I already made a tentative 12 game list for myself, but I won't try to stick to it too much in case it's not fun.

I think, if I make assigned monthly categories they would be very loose to still allow freedom :) Thanks for the suggestions!!

Come to think of it, I did complete a few games in 2016, although many of them were co-op games with other JPHiP dudes:

BasketBelle (solo), Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, Her Story (solo), Spelunky kind of (solo; I beat the boss, but didn't go to hell etc.), Grim Dawn kind of (played thru the map on normal difficulty??), Starbound kind of (completed the main quest line). Then some other co-op games were the kind you can't really "finish" (although Grim Dawn and Starbound are arguably like that, too). And I think I played Isaac enough to consider myself kind of done with it, tho I can always go back. That's ~kind of~ ten games, and I wasn't really even trying  I think I need to keep co-oping since that seems to be by far the most efficient way for me to complete games.

Time to show my face on the forum for once  :jphip:

I've been playing too much this year ohoho. Good going at all the people trying to play games! Somehow I'm hanging around on steam a lot, feel free to stalk me there!
Conclusion: I played over 52 games this year  :jphip:

First Up:
List of games I played with the JPHIP CREW this year. Because Co-op stuff is much fun  :theking
Borderlands 2
Borderlands: The Pre-sequel
Dungeon Defenders II
Grim Dawn
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide

Single player madness. All games actually finished this year... The secret to this amount (37?) games is lots of games that are short or story based.

January: Tomb Raider (2013)
February: Lumino City, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Tomb Raider Legend
March: Tiny and Big: Grandpa's leftovers, Yosumin!
April: Brothers - A tale of two sons, Never Alone, Tales from the Borderlands, Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior, The Wolf Among Us
May: Mafia II, Mushroom 11, Shadow Warrior, South Park: The Stick of the Truth, The Swapper
June: Guacamelee! Gold edition, Read only Memories
July:
August: 1.000.000 , The Beginners Guide, Her Story
September: Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered, Hexcells, Mad Max, Psychonauts, Puzzle Agent, Regency Solitaire
October: 140, Expand, Puzzle Agent 2, You Must Build A Boat
November: Back to the Future, Beyond eyes, Hexcells Plus, Octodad: Dadliest Catch
December: Gunpoint (started this early in the year and felt like completing it), Styx: Master of the Shadows

Games I cannot call 'completed' because of replay value

April: This War of Mine
May: The Binding of Isaac - Rebirth, Sunless Sea
June: 80 Days, No time to explain remastered
July: Please, Don't Touch Anything
October: Mini Metro (I've been playing this through the year)
September: Spelunky (I should give this game a real shot at some point)
November: Stardew Valley (This game is so relaxing)

And the list of games I started yet somehow didn't pick up again

January: Contraption maker, Saints Row IV
April: The Next Penelopy, Renowned Explorers: International Society, Stikbold!
May: Galak-Z
June: Retro City Rampage DX, Valkyria Chronicles
July: Human Resource Machine
October: Epistory - Typing Chronicles, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, Snakebird, Solar Flux, Titan Quest

I did complete Dark Souls 3 before the end of 2016 but I think I'll get round to a review in the other thread once the final bit of DLC is out.
