The Twins mean business in 2008.

Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi keep up their productivity in the new year with all new Mando-pop hits. None other than Taiwan's new generation god of pop Jay Chou composed the duo's latest principal song "Mutual Relationship" (Track 4), while veteran Hong Kong lyricist and record producer Chan Siu Kei provided the lyrics. Other noteworthy songs on this release include Gillian's "Can You See It?" (Track 7), a song dedicated to her grandfather, and Charlene's "Younger Sister" (Track 2) which honors her mother's unlimited love. Fans should also look out for "Cute - Repulsive", which comes in two special versions for Charlene (Track 1) and Gillian (Track 6).

There's New Year's album out January 21, 2008. includes best of, DVD, and red envelopes with Mickey.

Pop Duo Twins to Split
The Hong Kong pop duo Twins will separate after seven years of making music together, a report by Web news portal Sina.com.cn said on Sunday.

Although the female pair has stopped recording their latest album, their agent, Emperor Entertainment Group, has not yet responded to reports about the breakup, the article said.

"They have different styles and they are capable of working independently." Huo Wenxi, a producer from the company was quoted in the report as saying. "There's no plan for the two stars to work together in the near future."

Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi, the members of the Twins, have not made any public appearances together in almost five months since revelations came to light that Chung had been involved in a sex photo scandal. In the meantime, Choi has been attending various entertainment events alone to represent Twins.

The music group has won fans from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland after it debut in 2000.

In 2007, Twins won the Most Popular Female Singer award at the Music-On-Demand Best 10 Awards ceremony held by Hong Kong's TVB station. It was the first time that a duo won the title.

At present, Choi is shooting scenes for the upcoming action film "Storm Warriors." Chung will head to Hollywood to audition for a movie by director Oliver Stone.

A shame that Twins is no longer. Inevitable. Charlene was the better singer but Ah Gil was improving...

Fans of Twins are still hoping for the duo to make a comeback, but one half of the duo, Charlene Choi, is raising her voice solo. Charlene recorded the song Make A Wish as part of a fundraising project for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This solo release by Charlene features both the principal song and its accompanying music video, and has been limited to 3000 copies worldwide. Charlene will donate the entire proceeds of the project to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This edition comes with a wishing tree and a sticker.

HONG KONG starlet Gillian Chung's supporting role in the movie was to have lasted all of five minutes.
But even that was too long for the descendents of Ms Fu Zhi Fang, wife of the late Chinese opera master Mei Lan Fang on whom the movie is based.

All because Gillian was involved in the Edison Chen sex scandal in which photographs of the two in various compromising positions were released on the Internet early this year.
Gillian's cameo in the biopic, Mei Lan Fang, would have helped her to ease her way back to showbiz after her fall from grace.
But that appears to have run aground, Apple Daily reported.

The movie stars Zhang Ziyi and Leon Lai.

The real-life son of the character she plays, Mr Mei Bao Jiu, has vehemently objected to Gillian playing his mother.

A spokesman for the family said that the family has already requested to have Gillian's role completely cut.
The spokesman told Apple Daily: 'Perhaps to some people those photographs (of Gillian) don't mean much.
'But to the family of Mei Lan Fang, how can they accept their mother and grandmother being linked to such an incident?'
It is as yet unclear how Gillian feels about the incident. Gillian's manager, Mani Fok, couldn't be contacted, the report added.
