Truly a once in a Thousand Years Talent,
Momoe Yamaguchi was just Seventeen when
Yokosuka Story was released on 1976年6月21日.

May be a bit dated, but her wonderful soulful interpretation
of the lyrics, along with the accompaniment of the sax, organ,
and guitar, makes this song a classic.

Momoe is a legend, a giant of Japanese pop culture. And really so wonderful that, for the most part, she's been allowed to have a regular life after getting married. she looks like a regular mom now and I'll bet she's never been more content.

Little Glee Monster have shot up in popularity due to
Great ability

But also careful management choices, who make sure that the girls have plenty
Of modern pop sounds, but also do covers of older music....

RIP Saijo Hideki: https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20180517/p2a/00m/0et/008000c

Anyone who lived in that era knew Saijo as a giant of the kayokyoku scene. His songs meant as much to me as anything I've babbled on about here and elsewhere: Springsteen, REM/Replacements, CoCo/ribbon, Musume and Company... BTW please don't reference "YMCA" in my presence...

RIP, Hideki. Peeps may think you were stuck in time but I never felt uncomfortable. I was there: I knew you was fab.
