I love HOCKEY!!! Man that was the most fucking electrifying game I have experienced in a long time. This is why I love sports.

This win ranks as one of the best I have experienced - with all the Stanley Cups and personal achievements. Nearly shit my pants jumping outta my seats, dammit eating those nachos earlier.


Team Canada had the solid veterans - Brodeur, Pringer, and Edmonton born Captain Niedermeyer - and was the calming presence needed on a team that matched the USA for youth and speed. Who'd thunk that a shitload of players from those epic World Junior games would be facing off in the best World Tourney for all the chips.


Gotta hand it to crosby, dude came in through the clutch - he was constantly double teamed but one break down and BOOM Miller was crying:


This was like THE ULTIMATE TEAM GAME. Not just a few megastars like a Lemieux or Lindros or Gretzky. But all the pieces playing the role! SHIT WEBER. TOEWS. There's your bonafide superstar. Even The Sharks Line clutched up when it needed too. Normally I'd be boooooooooooooooooing Luongo but LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo is all the rage.



Gotta give it up the USA grinding and taking it hard to the goal. IT'S A TRAP!!! This is gonna be a rivalary for YEARS to come. The grit, the CANADIAN style of hockey - blocking shots, grinders, epic goalies - has influenced all nations and its ANYONE'S tournament man.

Awesome to see Messier, Gretzky, Kurri in the crowds. Lowe with Team Canada. Mad Props to Finns for coming back!! Look at Kurri ready to plant a wet one on Joni Pitkanen:

Obama made the friendly wager with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper before Sunday’s U.S.-Canada gold medal game. Canada beat the United States 3-2 on Sidney Crosby’s overtime goal.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said President Barack Obama had a case of Yuengling, a Pennsylvania regional brew, riding on the game. Harper wagered 24 bottles of Molson. The beer battle pitted Canada’s oldest brewery against the oldest beer maker in the United States. Molson Canada is now a subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Co., a marriage of Molson and Denver-based Coors.

There was no word on where the cross-border exchange would occur.

Edmonton will host Olympic gala

Canada's medallists from Sidney Crosby to Jenn Heil will be honoured June 28 at Commonwealth

It's going to be Canada's own personal Olympic Winter Games Closing Ceremony.

A June 28 gala slated for Commonwealth Stadium started out as the seventh-annual Hockey Canada Foundation champions golf tournament and banquet. It's developed into the astounding event, revealed in detail Thursday, to celebrate all of Canada's 26 Olympic medal winners and a chance to salute the Canadian military as well.

In a matter of days, as ticket sales began yesterday, expect it to be heralded as another total triumph for Edmonton.

”I believe it's going to be like the Heritage Classic, that it will be of that significance,” said Doug Goss, the man who chaired the outdoor hockey event in Commonwealth Stadium and chairs this one as well.

“It's something that will be once in a lifetime and we want to do it right.

It's going to be two and a half hours you don't want to miss,” said Goss.

Titled “Canada Celebrates” for short and “For The Love Of Country And For The Love Of Hockey: Canada Celebrates Our National Heroes” officially, the intention is to fill Commonwealth Stadium with 60,000 fans for the multi-pronged tribute June 28.
