Computer Speakers
« on: November 10, 2009, 11:57:23 PM »
So my old pair of speakers broke about a week ago and now I need a new pair. I've looked around in various computer stores and online but everything on the market is either bass or tinny. As I don't like the sound bass speakers produce and I want good quality audio this is a problem. Does anyone know of a suitable pair of speakers I could purchase?

I always recommend people to buy Altec Lansing speakers since they are good quality computer speakers at a reasonable price.

You may want to try this model, VS2420

I don't know if where to get it though.

I'm a fan of my Altec Lansings (VS4121).

Given your preferences, I'd look for a set of speakers that have controllable bass and treble built-in. On mine I have the treble set to normal and the bass set to 25% so it's not so boomy.

Second hand amplifier and pair of decent bookshelf speakers like Tannoy F1's. Those small plastic 'speakers' don't produce good quality audio. If that's out of your budget I suggest getting headphones.

Has treated me very, very well for a couple years now.  Can't recommend it enough if you're after a 2.1 speaker system.

I'm actually interested in those particular set of speakers. Though I heard from the newegg user reviews that the mid-range is lacking. What kind of stuff do you usually listen to when using those speakers? I'm not a big bass person.
