Yea I kind of agree with you darkzorb that it probably won't get that many viewers. I think that most of their viewers are probably going to be those that are 'hardcore' tmnt fans even if they are 'too old'. The new generation of kid did kind of have a TMNT show to watch but it was not nearly as good as the older ones, so i guess they will have little interest in TMNT. Too bad they didn't experience the good old days of TMNT.

I just came back from seeing TMNT. It was better than I expected, I really enjoyed it. The fight scenes were really fun to watch and were well done. The humor wasn't as cheesy as I expected it to be, most of the time. The only weird thing was Splinter's voice a little bit.

The movie was fucking awesome. I've loved the ninja turtles pretty much all my life and it didn't disappoint at all. Everything was done well while keeping it simple and rated PG for the kids.

I was probably one of the oldest guys there that wasn't there with a kid though >_> But I think that's a good thing as I wasn't expecting many kids to be all crazy over it. Almost forgot the power of commercialism and animation :P Now the ninja turtles will still live on with a new generation of kids.

What I don't understand is why they've got Zhang Ziyi playing a Japanese character......

Fair enough if it was a live action film because she looks Asian.... although she doesn't even look regularly Asian. BUT it's a voiceover! It's the most awful "get her cos she's famous and Asian" thing I've known Hollywood to do. I'm not really bothered but it's an excuse to talk about Zhang Ziyi with my friends :D

No shredder = bleh.. however there's a big probability of a sequel.

the story is kind of lame.. and boring. but being a big fan of the turtles, I can bear it.

the fight scene is awesome! especially the one on the rooftop during the rain! and the nightwatcher is just cool.

oh and splinter sounds drunk during the whole movie, what's up with that?

Gaki-san 大好き!

I think it was supposed to be a sequel to the old live action movies. So Shredder is "dead".

Seriously, what did you guys expect from the story? lol It's a family film aimed for the kids. It was similar to most of the CG family films from Disney Pixar and Dreamworks, which I love.

I'm sorry but I'm with RickE and Burn on this one, I grew up on TMNT and had high hopes for this, but naw was really disappointed. You are right though Streak, I should have thought of it being more for the kids than for fans that grew up on it. The story/plot and humor was waayyy too much for the kids on this one. I just thought from the one trailer that didn't reveal too much it was gonna be a lil more darker and grown up, I was wrong.

It's kinda like the new TMNT cartoon's they've been playing awhile but I honestly thought it was gonna stray away from that, it didn't, it's...... blah!

[TV] Turtles Forever - 25th Anniversary animated movie!
« Reply #59 on: November 25, 2009, 01:41:22 AM »
Turtles Forever

shit i totally missed this!! 25th Anniversary animated movie that has all the incarnations of TMNT including the old cartoon series  :w00t:

Turtles Forever Part 1 of 9

watch it UNCUT on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TurtlesForeverMovie

TMNT: Turtles Forever is a direct-to-DVD/made-for-tv animated movie that was produced by 4Kids Entertainment. Produced in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, the movie teams up different incarnations of the titular heroes—chiefly the light-hearted, child-friendly characters from the 1987 animated series and the darker cast of the 4Kids' own 2003 animated series—in an adventure that spans multiple parallel universes.

The movie aired on TV on The CW4Kids station on November 21, after the 25th anniversary Top 10 Countdown.[2] An encore showing will air from Nov 28 to Dec 12, split into three 22-minute episodes. A release date for the movie on DVD has yet to be announced. It has also been announced that the uncut version of film will appear on the CW4kids's website sometime in December that includes 12 minutes of footage cut from the version that aired on TV.

Trivia/SPOILERS!!

    * When both the 1987 and 2003 Turtles face the foot clan, Rocksteady shouts "Say your prayers, turtles", a line also heard in the 1989 arcade game.

    * When the turtles first arrive in the 1987 dimension, some of the humans seen working around include Irma Langinstein and several of the thugs seen in Turtle Tracks, including the pre-mutation incarnations of Bebop and Rocksteady. Several stores from the 1987 series, such as Ninja Pizza and Ninja Dentist, are also visible.

    * Hun's mutated turtle form heavily resembles the character Slash from the 1987 animated series except for his scars on his cheek and his trademark ponytail.

    * Two of the mutated foot soldiers appear to be new incarnations of Tokka and Rahzar from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. They can be seen in a scene jumping onto each side of the Party Wagon.

    * Among the dimensions shown by the Technodrome computer are various comic, film, and TV adaptations, including the live-action movie, Legend of the Supermutants, the 2003 episode Same As It Never Was, and TMNT, among others.

    * Mirage Raphael refers to the 1987 and 2003 turtles as "sellouts", echoing comments made by early fans towards Eastman and Laird in reference to the more tame, youth-oriented nature of the animated series in comparison to the comic.

    * Mirage Leonardo's dialogue and inner monologue features several lines borrowed directly from the very first issue of Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
o "I [cut/strike] two on the way down. Donatello takes out a third with his staff."
          o "The Shredder...has been shredded."
o "We are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We strike hard and fade away into the night."
