Title: Justice, Death and the Fool
Post by: rndmnwierd on September 19, 2006, 10:32:19 PM
Whoo! I'm on a roll again! Here's a new fic I thought up in English today.

Justice, Death and the Fool

“Great concert!” Nono waved to Risa in passing, walking to her dressing room. It felt good to be on her own two feet again instead of on wooden ones and smiling, she started a little jig, humming the encore under her breath. She turned a corner and nearly ran into Rika, making a phone call in the hallway.

“Oh, sorry.” the older girl didn’t acknowledge her right away, continuing to speak frantically into the phone.

“Please hurry!” she slapped it closed with a snap and grabbed Nono’s arm, “I was going to look for you. You’ve got to come with me!”

Confused, Nono could only follow the older girl to Yossui’s dressing room, “What, what? What’s going on?”

“He’s asking for you.” was all that was said.

‘He?’ Nono didn’t really know any ‘he’s, but when Rika pushed open the door with tears in her eyes and revealed Yossui being held at gunpoint, a few things became clear.

“Close the door and get over here.” the man ordered of Rika, waving his gun threateningly. Terrified, she quickly complied and stood tensely at his side.

“What’s this about?” Nono asked cautiously, eyeing the man fearfully.

“You have to be punished!” Yossui flinched when the barrel struck the side of her head, the skin breaking and blood running down her cheek. The other girls swallowed down their screams.

“If you’re mad at me, why are they here?” Nono tried to keep her voice steady and gentle.

“Well, I got to thinking. What would be the best way to make you hurt and teach you a lesson? Physical pain is easy to resist after a while and pretty senseless anyway. I want you to learn something, not just suffer.” He rubbed the gun against his forehead, “Finally it came to me! I’m going to make you choose which of your friends lives and which one dies.”

All three girls gasped and shared horrified looks. Nono felt tears burn her throat and swallowed hard, “How can I possibly make that choice?”

“Adults have to make tough decisions all the time. Sometimes they’re even life or death. You’re 19. It’s time to grow up!” He pointed the gun at Rika now, eliciting a whimper, “Now, will it be the Empress?” the barrel turned towards Yossui again, “Or the High Priestess.” The man giggled at his own joke. No one else got it.

“I can’t choose!” The girl buried her hands in her hair, the tears finally flowing down her cheeks; she saw her fellow yonki follow suit.

“Well if you don’t choose, I’ll kill them both. And then you for good measure. But, really, only one has to die tonight.”

‘Only one?’ Nono racked her brains, there had to be a way to save both of her friends.

“Well? I’m waiting.” The gun barrel floated over and pressed hard against Rika’s temple.

‘Who can I choose? Only one, only one, only one!’ She heard the gun cock loudly and something snapped into place, “Only one has to die tonight?”

“Yep.” the man nodded boredly, absently prodding the girl in his grasp.

“Well, if I have to choose the one that will die, I’ve decided.” Nono was suddenly calm in the face of her friends’ doom.

At this, the man perked up, “Oh really? That wasn’t so hard was it?”

“Not at all actually. Mostly because I choose me.” Nono smiled smugly at the look on the man’s face.

“That wasn’t the deal!” he angrily waved the gun closer to Rika’s nose.

“Why not?” the girl crossed her arms, “You said you wanted to teach me a lesson, right? You wanted me to grow up? Growing up means being responsible for yourself. You’re right that I need to be punished. To let my friends be punished as well, that’s childish.” Nono was surprised at how confident she sounded, especially since she was just pulling her words straight from her ass.

The man seemed to think about this though and nodded after a long pause, “Then you are learning. But, since you still couldn't choose either one, you have to take their bullets too.”

“I know.” Nono smiled at her friends, glad that she could do this for them. When the first bullet entered her stomach, though, the pain sent her crying to her knees. When the second bullet entered her chest, the air tasted like blood. And when the last bullet entered her brain, Nono felt no more pain.

---Heh heh. Nono got shot. Whatever will happen next? Oh, and I rhymed... Oh yeah. This is only chapter one!

Next chapter! Finally!

Rika clutched Yossui’s hand tightly sobbing into a tissue. It was the day of Nono’s wake and everyone who knew her was there. The entire project, the people she went to middle school with, her neighbors. It had been decided that since so many were going to come, they would pay their respects in a large rented auditorium. The building was almost filled to capacity and there were hundreds of mourning fans gathered outside.

Continuing to send her prayers, Rika’s eyes were glued to a small, framed picture of the girl on the alter up front. She didn’t notice anything else except Nono’s smiling face. Yossui was another story though, constantly keeping her eyes moving to anywhere but the reminder of death everyone was gathered around.

She noticed a small figure up front that was suspiciously familiar. Squinting in the harsh lights, Yossui recognized Aibon staring into space next to Nono’s family. While she was glad to see the girl, Yossui really wished it had been on better terms.

“Let’s go speak to Aibon.” she suggested gently to Rika, tugging her hand as she stood. It took a moment for the thought to sink in, but when it did the older girl followed blindly.

They reached the younger yonki and Yossui knelt in front of her, catching her eye. Aibon looked at her wordlessly.

“Hey kiddo. How you holding up?” Yossui knew that the ‘kiddo’ bit was maybe too much, but she was hoping for a reaction. She was disappointed.

Facing away from the picture, Rika was finally able to take in the other people in the room. Everyone was there, everyone, even Makoto, whose plane had left a couple days before the… incident. The girl was crying into Konno’s shoulder, not seeming to notice the other’s tears.

Her eyes scanned over a few rows, seeing the Melon girls and Country Musume, in various states of mourning, Yuko, face covered with a tissue, Kaori, crying openly, Mari and Kei, holding onto each other tightly, and Nacchi, who seemed to still be in shock.

She turned to another section, seeing the Rokkies huddled together, even Miki, who was clutching Aya. The whole group was crying loudly. She didn’t see Ai and Risa, but figured they were at the alter. She turned back to Yossui, who was still trying unsuccessfully to get Aibon to talk.

The pain in the room was almost overwhelming; Rika could feel everyone’s anguish. She felt it when strong Yocchan started crying, even though her back was turned. She felt it when a teenager she didn’t know collapsed to the floor in front of Nono’s picture, almost dropping her incense. She also felt resolve growing deep inside her own heart.

“This has to stop.”

---Oooo what is she thinking? I should probably go write it...

Actually, I've decided to take a page from Yuuyami's book and make a fantasy fic. It'll probably be pretty generic, but I wanted a break from the romance...

Eh, here ya go...

Hitomi awoke to a frantic pounding on her door. It was a good thing she’d moved out, or else her parents might just kill the late night visitor.

‘What time is it?’ she glanced at a clock in passing, but stopped and stared, sure that her eyes were playing tricks on her. ‘Four? Forget being civil, I’m going to kill whoever is out there.’

The pounding continued until she yanked the door open, “What the fu-!” Yossui stopped herself short, seeing a panicky Rika and a sleepy Aibon on her doorstep.

“Let us in.” Rika whispered, looking around behind her.

Stepping aside, Yossui complied, also taking a look around, “Is someone following you?”

“No.” answered Aibon with a yawn.

Yossui could only stare, “You spoke.”

“Yeah…”

“…”

“…”

Rika jumped back when Yossui wheeled around and pinned her with a glare, “What did you do?”

“We’re gonna get Nono back.” The youngest replied again. This only made Yossui glare harder.

“That’s what you said to get her to talk?” she then noticed the cylinder container under Rika’s arm and pieces fell into place. “Tell me that’s not what I think it is.”

“Okay, I won’t tell you.” It seemed the older girl was regretting fleeing here.

“You stole Nono’s ashes?!” Yossui started to pace, “How could you! That’s so wrong!”

“We have to bring her back, Hitomi. The three of us. Plus, you’re the only one who drives an actual car.”

“And you thought I’d go along with this hare-brained scheme of yours? You’re crazy!” she turned and ran smack into the saddest face she’d ever seen. “Oh no. No way ‘Bon!” But she could already feel herself giving in and sighed.

“…”

“…”

“Oh alright. Where to?”

----Yuppers! Lol.

OMG I want more! So sad how Nono dies...makes me think of the other time I cried for Nono, when she and Kago got blown up in the space fanfic...when Kago got stuck under the fridge with the little monster thing in her stomach.

Here's the next part!

“You’ve got to be kidding me!”

They’d abandoned the car a few blocks back in favor of trekking through a maze of dank, dark alleys. Yossui was sure they'd be lost forever, especially with Rika leading, but the older seemed positive they were heading the right way. The sun was just starting to peak above some of the lower buildings when Yossui saw it. A huge yet non-descript sign reading: Madonna’s Mystical.

Crazy Americans!

Crazy Rika!

Dammit!

Aibon yawned from her place under Yossui’s arm, “Are we there yet?”

“Yep!” Rika grinned, happy that she knew where they were going. For once.

“A voodoo shop!?” Yossui looked at the brick wall. ‘Maybe I should just smash my head in and join Nono. Wait, when was I this morbid?’

“Nooo.” Rika said slowly, like talking to a particularly dumb child, “It’s an occult shop. It’s legitimate too. No books on how to magically get a date or find fortune, but real mystic books and real spell ingredients.”

Yossui was slightly taken aback, “Wow, you really looked into this, didn’t you?”

Rika nodded seriously and the two stared at each other for a minute, Aibon looking between them impatiently. Finally unable to take anymore tension, she threw her hands in the air, “Can we go in now?” it seemed that the single mindedness of their quest had vanquished her grief. Or maybe that was just sleep deprivation.

All immediately agreed and they entered the store. Yossui was surprised; it looked like a normal shop setting, shoulder high bookshelves lined the walls and formed a few rows on the left and on the right were tables full of plastic jars with various liquids and powders in them. In the far right corner was the cash register, sitting on a heavy wooden desk. Just behind that was what looked to be the opening to another room, but hippie beads covered the doorway.

“Welcome back Rika.” a soft voice floated in from the hidden room. From behind the beads came an older American woman, dressed in casual jeans and a button up shirt. She looked pretty normal. “I see you’ve brought your friends along this time. All of them.” she took note of Rika’s precious cargo immediately.

“Um, yes. How did you- Nevermind. If you know that this is Nono, then you know what I came for.” Yossui realized that they had obviously met more than once to be this comfortable with each other.

Aibon lost herself in the old tomes on the left side of the room. She gently ran her fingers across the spines, looking for something to catch her eye. A spine with faded golden designs jumped out at her. It had no title visible, so she took it from its place and opened the cover.

The words weren’t in Japanese or any other language she had ever seen before and the strange shapes of the characters drew her in farther, enticing her to flip through more pages. A soft whispering as she passed page 36 drown out the conversation going on near her. The more pages she turned, the louder the whisper got until, even though it was in another language, Aibon felt that she could make out the words.

Suddenly a hand slapped the book closed and she snapped out of her trance, looking up to see the proprietor smiling at her gently, “Be careful. The Voro Animus has taken in many a careless reader.”

Fearful, Aibon put the book back, watching as the woman, probably Madonna, quickly selected another book from the shelf. She then flitted across the room to the ingredients, picking up a black goblet and a bottle full of a pale liquid so thin it seemed like fog.

She snagged a few other opaque bottles and motioned the group into the back room. Aibon was the last in, passing the beads cautiously. The room looked like a traditional altar room; runes lined the wall and surrounded the high table in the center. She stepped around a couple candles and noticed a strange design painted on the floor, it was a small circle inside a bigger square inside a bigger triangle inside the biggest circle.

Madonna gently took the urn from an almost reluctant Rika and opened it without preamble, carefully spreading the ashes across the length of the table, “Let’s get started.”

----OMG Tanachan! I remember that fic. That part made me go 'Awww' and I reread it several times.

You know, I've started planning out my plot and I realized that I just couldn't do anything without romance in it. Damn I'm a sap.

I finally found time to read some of your fics!

The first and second chapters were so sad, I especially liked this part:

Quote
“I know.” Nono smiled at her friends, glad that she could do this for them. When the first bullet entered her stomach, though, the pain sent her crying to her knees. When the second bullet entered her chest, the air tasted like blood. And when the last bullet entered her brain, Nono felt no more pain.

It's really beautiful I think.

But then you took the fic in a different direction which leaves me wondering and wanting to know how it's gona turn out! :D Looking forward to more of this :)

Thanks for the support all three people who read this....

“Actually, you should be warned.” The woman paused in opening the bottle of white liquid, “The man who did this wasn’t captured, right?” the three nodded, “Until he is, your friend will search for justice, never able to rest. Also the ritual itself is dangerous. The newly dead are trapped in the spirit world, awaiting judgment. That is also the home of, how would you say it? The Dark Ones? Something like that.”

“So?” Aibon questioned, the sight of her friend’s remains making her antsy, “What does that mean?”

“To bring back your friend’s spirit, I must rip open a hole between realms, giving the Dark Ones a chance to escape. If they do, they will wreak havoc on the city, even the world. The longer they are out, the more powerful they become.” Madonna set the bottle down on a small, wheeled table beside her, intent on her explanation.

“What does this have to do with us?” Yossui forestalled anymore of Aibon’s complaints with a hand on her shoulder.

“If any escape, you will be responsible for their defeat and recapture. You will have access to the abilities of the ten original mages who trapped them in the beginning. And you will have help. Six others of your clan. Clan? Something like that. Anyway, are you still willing to go through with this?”

The response was a unanimous yes. Of course, they would do anything to have their Nono back and they had already come so far. With a final look at each of them, Madonna began the ritual.

She poured the white liquid down the length of the ashes, then turned and opened up the book. The three couldn’t see what exactly she was doing, but realized she was mixing something with her back to them. “First we must reform the body. To do that, I must ask a favor from those closest to her. Blood, from each of you.”

The three looked at each other uneasily, even more when Madonna turned with a ceremonial dagger in her hand. Finally, Rika and Yossui pushed Aibon forward, “You go first.”

“Why me?” Aibon eyed the knife fearfully.

“Because you were her closest friend.” Rika put her hands on her hips.

“Makoto was her closest friend! We just shared the apartment.” The youngest flinched when the mystic reached out and grabbed her wrist, bringing her hand closer to the dagger.

“Makoto’s not here. So you’ll have to do. Now quit being a baby and give her your finger.” Yossui patted Aibon on the head.

Squinting her eyes shut, Aibon presented her index finger to Madonna, wincing when the tip of the dagger pierced the tip of her finger. The blood dripped into the black goblet, mixing with the ingredients already there.

Stepping back behind the older girls, Aibon clutched her wounded hand, which had already stopped bleeding, like it would fall off at any moment. The other two scoffed at her, before Rika stepped forward. They watched the blade be quickly sterilized and then the process repeated.

“Ow!” Yossui laughed lightly at the tears that filled Rika’s eyes, rubbing her back and admonishing her gently.

“You guys are weak, watch this.” But when Yossui put out her hand and the dagger sliced her finger, she hissed sharply through her teeth. Then she saw the blood and swayed woozily. She got no sympathy and the other yonki laughed at her.

“So much for being tough.” Aibon pinched her arm, snapping her back into a steady position.

They laughed for a second, the seriousness of the past couple days fading. Madonna stirred the mixture in the goblet a moment, before placing it in the middle of the altar. “Now, the next thing I must ask of you is to join hands around her remains. It might sound a little cliché, but I need you to think of Nono as she was the last time you saw her alive. I will take that image and use it to recreate her body.”

The girls complied, standing on three sides of the altar with Rika at the head. They closed their eyes and thought of their friend, Aibon remembering a time Nono came to visit her in Nara and Rika and Yossui remembering her performing at the concert that night.

They didn’t hear any chanting or strange whispering and they couldn’t see the motions Madonna made in the air, the runes that appeared over Nono’s ashes, or the dark forms that escaped through the ceiling. All they could see from behind their eyelids was a bright white light.

For a while they kept their eyes closed, almost afraid of what they might see. Then a voice sent them into shock, “Ugh, my head hurts.” Nono said, blinking wearily.

----And there, I have plotted out my entire story! Can you guess what happens next?

Short little chappie here, cause Innocence isn't gonna be up for a few days.

“Nono!” the three surprised yonki exclaimed, nearly tackling the hapless girl. Nono just huffed, the air leaving her lungs quickly.

“Man, the last thing I remember was… Holy crap! I died!” She pulled Aibon into her lap and buried her nose in the younger girl’s shoulder, the memories overwhelming her mind. They cried together for a minute.

“It worked.” Rika examined Nono and it felt as though the girl had just been on vacation for a couple days. Except for that scar on her forehead, Rika lightly traced the round mark, wondering absently if there were other marks under her shirt.

Wait, shirt?

“Hey, you’re not naked.” Rika’s statement earned her three raised eyebrows. “Well, it’s true.”

“I thought everyone involved might appreciate that little trick.” Madonna winked from where she was mixing some more ingredients together in a green plastic cup.

“Man.” Yossui’s already wide eyes looked like they were going to fall right out of her head, “Nono, you’re back. What the hell are we going to do?! How are we going to explain this to her parents? Or the people who were at the service? I mean, damn!”

“Here, drink this.” Madonna handed her concoction over to Nono, who sniffed it cautiously before gulping it down.

“Mmm, raspberry.” She still seemed a little out of it, “Oh, you’re the one Dori was talking about.”

“You mean she still hasn’t risen?” The older woman seemed concerned.

“No, but she says it’ll only be a few more years ‘til she works off her debt. She was really nice, showed me around too.” Nono blinked lazily, knowing that she’d be understood.

“What are you talking about?” Aibon’s brows furrowed cutely.

Well, understood by one person, at least. “Dori said that she made some bad choices just before her end and couldn’t go straight up. Since she was devout most of her life though, she was given a chance to repent. In The Middle. It’s not a bad place. A little foggy, though.”

“What are we going to tell the others?!” Yossui started pulling at her hair.

“Well, that little potion should make sure that only the people who need to remember, will. It is how you will recognize your companions. And good luck on defeating the Dark Ones, all fourteen of them.” Madonna smiled sarcastically.

Everyone was silent for a moment, “You know, there’s really nothing to say after that.” Aibon shifted in Nono lap, wrapping her arm around the older girl’s shoulder.

Here you go! *throws out chapter*

“Wait, what do you mean?” Rika was the sensible one for once, with Yossui freaking out in the background.

“I told you there would be danger and that the Dark Ones might get loose, it happens every time there’s a resurrection. Fourteen Dark Ones escaped and fourteen must be returned. Your powers will manifest when needed and so will those of your companions. Like I said, expect six.” Madonna held out a hand to the girls on the altar and helped them slip off of it, steadying Nono when she stumbled.

“Um, well, what now?” Rika rested her arm around Nono’s shoulders, pulling her close.

“Go home, get some rest. I assume you don’t have work today?” three nodded, one just blinked. “Well, you’ve been up all night and once you sleep the spells will take affect. Tomorrow is a new day after all.”

Yawning, the girls all realized that they really were tired, even at nine in the morning. By unspoken agreement, they headed to Yossui’s apartment, saying a heartfelt thanks to the mystical proprietor on the way out the door.

The car ride seemed to take forever with no one speaking, Aibon and Nono conked out together in the backseat, but eventually they all filed into the bedroom and collapsed on the bed together, not even bothering to change clothes.

Quite a few hours later, Nono stirred from her place between Rika and Aibon. Just opening her eyes, she took stock of her body parts, relishing life again. Something occurred to her and she removed Aibon’s hand from its compromising position on her chest, lifting her shirt up and looking down at her own torso.

Two pink, round scars stared back up at her, confirming her adventures in The Middle. Something tickled at the back of her mind and Nono slipped quietly out of bed, tiptoeing into the living room.

“I’ll be here when you need me.” Dori’s parting words to her echoed in her mind, but they sounded different. Almost as if, instead of being a memory, they were being repeated. Standing in front of the window, for a second, someone else’s reflection looked back at her. Then she blinked and it was gone.

“Wow, that was weird.” Nono mumbled to herself, touching the scar on her forehead.

“What was weird?” Aibon spoke up from behind her.

Surprisingly, Nono wasn’t the least bit startled. She wondered if that was an after-effect of being dead. “My scar is really pronounced.” she lied, not fooling her friend for an instant.

Staring at Nono intensely for a minute, Aibon just nodded, then reached up and cupped her chin, “Let me see.” The older girl obliged, tilting her head down so that Aibon would get a better view.

A sudden instinct came over the girl and she gently pressed her lips to Nono’s scar, sighing against her forehead. Something passed between the two and when Aibon pulled back, the bright pink mark had faded to a barely-noticeable-unless-you-know-what-to-look-for scar. It was quiet for a minute.

“Think you could do that to the other two?” Nono lifted her shirt up, revealing everything up to the valley between her breasts, but still not indecently exposing herself. Aibon blushed.

“Um, yeah, I guess.” Resting her hands on Nono’s waist, Aibon bent forward, first gently blowing her breath across the exposed mark, then lightly kissing the area on the older girl’s chest, feeling Nono’s heart racing in her ribcage.

Emboldened by that last response, Aibon dropped to her knees in front of her friend, blowing across the scar on her belly. Just the breath itself made the scar disappear but, her eyes never leaving Nono’s, Aibon kissed the place just below the older girl’s naval, well below where the scar used to be.

“Aibon.” Nono whispered, placing her hands on the kneeling girl’s shoulders. Aibon leaned forward to bite the waistband of her jeans.

“What are you guys doing?” Rika whispered from the doorway, sounding a little freaked.

Scrambling for an excuse, Aibon said the first thing that came to mind, “I’ve got healing powers!” Nono pulled her to her feet.

“What, really?” her vague horror forgotten, Rika came fully into the room. The two proceeded to poke and prod Nono, ignoring any protests she might have made. Her giggles woke Yossui in the other room.

“We don’t have to be up for another hour! Keep it down.” Looking like an angry bear, Yossui stumbled into the room.

“Look what Aibon did!” Rika, heedless of any danger, waved Yossui closer.

“What did Aibon do?” Yossui squinted at Nono’s torso, not seeing anything.

“Watch!” Aibon dropped to her knees again and leaned forward, sinking her teeth into Nono’s hip until she drew blood.

“Ow!” the older girl’s hand smacked the top of Aibon’s head, forcing an apology out of her.

Unimpressed, Yossui just stared, “Congratulations, you have functioning teeth. So what?”

Not bothering to answer verbally, Aibon gently blew a stream of air across the wound and they all watched it disappear. Yossui kept staring, the act not seeming to register. Finally, she straightened up and met all their eyes.

“Okay, that was cool. Guess that’s what Madonna meant by powers. Wonder what mine is?” the last was said mostly to herself.

“You didn’t have to bite me.” Nono sulked near the window, Aibon hanging onto her shoulders.

“Aw, I’m sorry. It was the first thing that came to mind.” Nono jutted her chin out with a ‘hmph!’ “If it’s any consolation, you don’t taste half bad.”

“It’s not!”

“Sorry we woke you.” Rika followed Yossui into the kitchen, watching her dig through a cupboard.

“You want breakfast?” Yossui started pulling out pans and setting them on the stovetop.

“Breakfast?!” Their fight immediately forgotten, Nono and Aibon nearly trampled Rika trying to get into the kitchen. The older girl didn’t really move, but her eyes slowly got huge.

Yossui tried unsuccessfully to fend them off, but was overwhelmed and forced to stand next to Rika, still in shock. Yossui watched in horror as her kitchen was turned into something from a disaster movie, “Hey, you two better not set yourselves on fire; I’m not putting you out!”

Aibon laughed but Nono turned around and threw a piece of cardboard at Yossui’s head. It fluttered right past and landed gently on the ground.

Surprisingly, the cooking went without incident and they all sat down to pancakes and omelets, discussing what they were going to do about Nono today.

“Well, assuming the potion worked, we won’t have to worry. And it will help us to find and keep the ones that do remember close.” Rika motioned with the fork in her hand.

“I think we should be more worried about what to do with Aibon.” Nono drowned her pancakes in syrup, only Aibon wasn’t disgusted.

Yossui raised and eyebrow, “Hmm, you know, I think I have a fishing pole in my closet if you need it, Non.” the girl in question looked up at her confused. “Anyway, all Aibon has to do is keep a low profile and she’ll be fine. She wasn’t dead yesterday.”

“Oh rub it in, why don’t you?” Nono stuck her tongue out, before snagging a piece of omelet off of Aibon’s plate.

“Hey!” Nono offered a bite of pancake on the end of her fork, watching Aibon happily take it into her mouth. Even though they weren’t physically touching, something still passed between them, making them look away from each other.

Choosing to ignore the younger girls, Rika and Yossui continued discussing their plans. Eventually, breakfast was finished, they all took turns freshening up and then headed off to work.

“Ow!” Nono rubbed her shoulder where it had slammed into the wall, it was gonna be a long day.

You know, since I'm here, might as well update this poor neglected story...

Walking into the building felt like a normal day, with the addition of an incognito Aibon, and they all greeted the staff like they usually would. The first ones to say anything about Nono were, surprisingly, the last two thirds of Biyuuden. Erika just kind of gaped and pointed and Yui’s expression was hard to read past her thick sunglasses, long coat, and big hat.

“What’s with that?” Rika gestured at Yui, completely ignoring Erika’s flailing.

“Tell me why I see the recently deceased standing in perfect health in front of me and I’ll tell you what I’m hiding.” Yui reached over and smacked Erika on the arm, instantly snapping her out of her shock.

“Oh, we resurrected her, what’s your story?” Aibon waved dismissively, making the other two squint at her.

“Aibon? Since when were you coming back?” Erika reached out and lifted the younger girl’s hat, revealing her eyes.

Again ignoring Erika, Yui spoke up, “I woke up a cat girl today.” She dropped her disguise, showing off her fluffy ears, golden eyes, and gently curling tail. The others all made noises of understanding.

“You probably shouldn’t do that in the open-“ Rika began, only to be cut off by a keening cry.

“Non-chan!” Makoto came in from somewhere and tackled the hapless Nono to the ground.

“Jeez, Mako-chan, I just came back, are trying to kill me again?” Nono patted the crying girl on top of her.

That started a chain reaction of reactions. Eri and Reina, who were walking around the corner together, saw the commotion and rushed over with shouts of their own. Their yells got Miki’s attention and she wandered over to question the group. The noise alerted the manager who called Tsunku to get permission to yell at them, then told them all off and sent them to their dressing rooms like little kids.

“Well, that was fun.” Miki plopped down in a chair in the group dressing room, “So what’s going on?”

Rika opened her mouth to respond, but suddenly thought better, “Um, I doubt you’d believe it.” Though she was pleased that they didn’t have to search for their help, Rika remembered that normal people were skeptical of the supernatural.

“I’m staring at a girl who died last week and suddenly came back, while nobody else remembers her funeral but us. Try me.” the three graduated yonki cringed at her tone, but Yossui just took a seat next to her, gesturing the others to do the same.

“Well, it started out as a normal day," Yossui began, watching Nono sit and Makoto immediately clamber into her lap, “Then these two idiots woke me up.” she pointed at Rika and Aibon, ignoring their glares.

Yossui then proceeded to spin a tale the likes of which none had heard before, except as the plot in that book someone had once read. By the time she was done, Eri was convinced that the shadows were going to eat her, Reina was convinced that her leader had been replaced by an imposter and Miki was convinced that the nice men in white needed to be called.

Only Makoto, Yui, and Erika just nodded and accepted it, or at least didn’t go crazy about it. Yui and Erika were just those kinds of people, but Makoto was too overjoyed at having her friend back to really care how it had happened. Dark Ones? Psh! Powers? Double psh!

It seemed that a demonstration was in order. Aibon smiled toothily and brought out a deadly looking switchblade, watching everyone else cringe. “Okay, who wants to go first?”

Eri was shoved forward, whimpering quietly, “Nooooo….”

“Oh it’ll only hurt for a minute.” Aibon snagged her wrist and sliced the back of her arm, letting the blood quickly come to the surface and begin seep out.

’Itai!’ Nono heard in her mind a split second before Eri said it. Hmm, curious-er and curious-er

The others all watched in awe as Aibon cupped her hand and blew into it, before placing it against the wound. When she removed her hand, the cut was gone. “Jyaan~!”

“Okay, that was cool.” Miki said monotonously.

Yossui laughed, “That’s what I said.”

“What do we do now, though?” Miki turned her bored gaze to her leader.

“Hmm, I don’t know, it’s not like this came with a manual. I figure Nono will be the one to find them, being as she’s the closest to them.” Everyone simultaneously turned towards the girl in question.

Slightly alarmed, Nono just raised her hand sheepishly, “Um, hey.” And it wasn’t even eight in the morning yet.

---I'm not gonna keep you guys guessing about who the six are, mostly because it's not realistic (I mean, if you saw someone who had died walking around, wouldn't you say something?) but I also don't wanna steal too many of Yuuyami's ideas. I'm not Nacchi.

Thank you for your comments, it's so heartwarming to know that one of my stories is honestly not crap, lol. Next chapter!

Biyuuden had vocal training and Morning Musume had dance lessons, so the group quickly split up, with Makoto, Nono and Aibon opting to head down to the cafeteria. It didn’t take long for the youngest two to begin their questioning.

“So, what was it like?” Makoto pushed a muffin into the center of the table.

“The middle? It was okay, I guess.” Nono pushed out her candy bar and grabbed the muffin, “It was like a big park on a foggy day. Lots of people just walking around, there were a few lemonade stands and a couple of desks with nicely dressed people sitting behind them, handing out paperwork. The lemonade was good, nice and sugary and freshty.”

Aibon snagged the candy bar before Makoto could and offered up her banana. Makoto slapped her hand and took the candy. “What kind of paperwork?” Aibon asked, shrugging and peeling the banana.

“I dunno, kinda like the forms you fill out at the doctor’s office, I guess. Name, date of birth, social security number, reason for death; that kind of stuff, it was all very organized.” Nono felt her eyes glue to Aibon’s lips, watching her slowly devour the fruit. She felt the sudden urge to knock her out of her chair and do inappropriate things to her right there on the floor.

Makoto looked between the two and for a second, it was like she was looking at two strangers. It was gone before she could really get a grip on the feeling, so she thought nothing of it. “Did you have to show proof of insurance?”

Nono looked at Makoto, tilting her head slightly, “Yeah, actually. And I magically had all the documents I needed in my back pocket, including birth and death certificates and my driver’s license. Dying is such an ordeal.”

“Hmm, maybe you shouldn’t do it again.” Aibon popped the last bite of banana in her mouth, then tossed the peel into a trashcan behind her. The other two nodded in agreement.

“Nono, what are you doing here? You’ve got work to do!” Yaguchi was suddenly standing beside the table, shaking her finger in a scolding motion.

“Take it easy, Yagu. She was just hanging with me.” Aibon lifted her hat and winked.

“Aibon? Since when were you back?” though her question sounded harsh, Mari was overjoyed to see the girl and threw her small arms around Aibon, kissing her on the cheek.

Nono felt a surge of jealousy run through her and pushed Yaguchi away from her friend, “What was I supposed to do today?”

Slightly confused, Yaguchi cleared her throat, “Well, we’re supposed to be practicing for that tour in Hawaii. The one Tsunku announced yesterday.”

“That explains why I didn’t know about it…”

“Well, come on. I don’t have all day.” Yaguchi grabbed Nono’s wrist and drug her out of her seat, nearly sending her to the floor. With nothing better to do, Makoto and Aibon followed them up to the fourth floor.

A few hours later, Nono collapsed to the floor in exhaustion, “Please, no more. I can’t take it.”

“What is with you? You’re supposed to have all that youthful energy and here I am running circles around you. Get up and try again.” Yaguchi seemed to have it out for poor, defenseless Nono today.

“Aww, c’mon Yagu, give her a break, it’s been a long couple of days.” Which was exactly opposite of Aibon, whom Yaguchi would move worlds for. With Aibon’s persuasion, it was easy to get Nono back to the dressing room and into a warm shower.

About twenty minutes later, Aibon was swinging her legs back and forth from her perch on the vanity, absently wondering when Makoto had left. She didn’t have long to think about it as Nono entered the room in nothing but a towel and Aibon could only focus on the water droplets beading on her shoulders.

There was silence as their eyes met, then Nono pointed to a pile beside Aibon, “Could you hand me that?”

“Oh, of course.” Hopping down, Aibon did as requested and watched as Nono began to loosen the towel around her body to dry off. Suddenly realizing what was about to happen, Aibon clapped a hand over her eyes and spun so that her back was to her friend.

Feeling her ears burning, Aibon peeked through her fingers, catching a glimpse of Nono’s profile in the mirror on the vanity. This was crazy, why did she feel so naughty?

Shaking her head, Aibon turned around, “What is with us today? We’ve changed in front of each other hundreds of times before, what makes this time so awkward?”

Pausing, Nono thought for a minute, “Maybe because it’s been weird all morning?”

“Well, now that we know it’s weird, maybe we can stop.” Typical Aibon logic, simple and to the point.

“I don’t know,” Even though her back was to her friend, Nono pulled her towel around herself again, “I still feel pretty weird.”

“What kind of weird?” Aibon began to fiddle with the hem of her shirt.

“The kind of weird I felt around Mika. Except stronger.” The older girl remembered how heartbroken she was when Mini Moni’s second leader left.

“But you had a crush on Mika.” There was only one thing stronger than a crush. “And you’re saying you feel that way for me?”

“Yes, but it’s different. With Mika, I just wanted to be around her all the time. With you, I want you to know everything about me. We’ve always shared the present with each other, but never the past.” Nono lowered the towel to around her waist, holding it with one hand and covering her chest with the other.

Blushing again, Aibon was about to ask what Nono meant, when she saw it, a faded L-shaped scar just beneath Nono’s left shoulder blade. “I know you’ve never seen my scars,” Nono continued, “and I’ve never asked about your’s, but I want to now.”

Stepping closer, Aibon ran her fingers along the mark, “You know I can make this go away.”

“I don’t want you to.” Nono turned around, with her arm crossed over her chest like it was, her breasts seemed more pronounced and Aibon couldn’t look away.

Seeing where her friend was staring Nono slowly lowered her arm, leaving it dangling by her side and inviting Aibon to touch whatever she wanted to. Even though she seemed to be in control, Nono’s grasp on her towel became a white-knuckled grip.

Startled, Aibon finally lifted her eyes, seeing the fear and trust in Nono’s, and slowly reached out her hand. She paused, then stepped forward, placing her other hand on Nono’s hip. Then her poised hand continued its journey, inching closer to the older girl’s chest.

----Aibon and Nono suddenly have feelings for each other! *gasp* Who'd have seen that coming from me? *sarcasm pools on the floor in a smoking, acidic puddle*

EDIT: Damn, I need an editor! I've gone back three times and changed typos!

There is a reason for all the romance and it does coencide with their powers, but all is not as it seems.

A knock at the door sent them scrambling apart. Nono had only enough time to pull the towel back around herself before the door opened and Eri, Reina, Miki, and Yossui piled into the room.

“Practice is- whoa! Sorry.” As quickly as they entered, the four exited the room, leaving two very embarrassed girls in their wake.

For a moment, nothing was said, then Nono spoke up, “Maybe we should start locking that.”

“Then how would we teach important life lessons to those who don’t knock?” Aibon turned around to face her friend with a smile.

“But they did knock.” Nono began to dry off again, her back to Aibon.

“They should have waited.” Without thinking, Aibon took the towel and patted the water off Nono’s shoulders. It might have been weird to other people, but this was a sort of comfortable ritual, one they hadn’t practiced in a year or two.

Nono quietly allowed herself to be dried off, sighing in relaxation. It had been a long time since they had felt so close. Platonically, of course. After the interruption, Nono got dressed in peace and the two exited the room to find four still red-faced Musumes loitering around in the hallway.

“Um, sorry.” Eri spoke up, being the one who had opened the door. Nono waved her off.

“So what are we doing?” Aibon asked, looking around for the others.

“We were just waiting for the kids to get home from school.” Miki gestured down the hall at where Biyuuden was walking towards them. Erika and Rika were poking and prodding Yui, tugging at her ears and tail. Yui was yowling at them like an angry tiger but they knew she wouldn’t really hurt them. Despite everything, they all looked happy, laughing and enjoying each other, like really close friends.

“Now children, do you want a time-out?” Yossui shook her finger at them scoldingly, not hiding her smile.

“Not again, Yoshizawa-san.” Yui pouted sexily at the unsuspecting Yossui, feeling both her bandmates pinch her in the side. Everyone else, except for Miki, just stared at her funny.

Yui cleared her throat, “Um, sorry?”

“Nevermind that, where is Mako-chan?” Nono couldn’t care less who Yui was flirting with. As long as it wasn’t Aibon.

“Kon Kon is here today, though no one really remembers why, and Mako is down in the cafeteria with her. We should probably go get her, huh?” Nono was gone before Miki could finish talking, dragging Aibon along behind her.

Rika and Yossui laughed, watching Aibon stumble after her friend, it had been a while since they had seen that particular sight in the halls. It didn’t take long for the whole group to follow and soon the small mob was surrounding Makoto and Asami’s table. It honestly looked like trouble.

“Hi Kon! Mako-chan, we have to go. Sorry Ko-“ Nono suddenly froze in the process of dragging Makoto out of her chair.

“Non? What’s the matter?” Makoto set down her sandwich and stood, waving a hand in front of Nono’s face. The others looked at her strangely.

“Hmm, my super hearing is detecting a cry for help.” Nono squinted her eyes at the wall to her left.

“What? Really?” The undead girl ignored Eri’s earnest question and instead just started walking, her band of merry women following dutifully behind her. Asami just continued eating peacefully, completely unruffled.

---She doesn't really have super hearing, she was being sarcastic, duh Eri!

You know, this whole chapter sounded better in my head...

Once outside the building, Nono took a left down the sidewalk, dozing through anything in her way. The now concerned small mob followed at a distance, watching her run down people, trip over cartons, and smack into poles. Well, one pole, but it looked painful.

“Well, I know I’ma be putting my power to work later…”  Aibon helped a hapless businessman to his feet. The group had just realized that none of them were in disguise and people were beginning to stare.

“I hope she knows what she’s doing.” Miki was sounding a little stressed, side stepping an avalanche of fruit.

The group followed Nono through a maze of sidewalks, alleyways and finally into a burned out husk of a building. The door was blocked, but Reina spotted Nono climbing into a second story window.

“How the hell did she get up there?” Erika shaded her eyes with her hand, watching Nono’s feet disappear into the darkness.

“I’ll get her!” Yui turned and scampered up the side of the building like a monkey. The others just watched in silence.

“How the hell did she get up there?!” Erika started pulling at her hair.

Reina felt a sort of dull rage settle in her stomach and marched back over to examine the front door. It looked normal, if a little charred around the edges, but something was behind it, keeping it from being opened. Standing about ten feet away, the door looked like it was personally challenging Reina, teasing her. She wasn’t going to take that!

With a shout, Reina charged full speed at the door, shoulder down in the ramming position. The others had followed her and watched wide eyed as she slammed into the door, completely obliterating it and continuing into the building. Erika jogged through the opening after her, ending up in a small entranceway.

“Reina? Are you alright?” Reina was sprawled out face down on the floor, not even bothering to move. Erika started tugging her to her feet, Eri right on her heels.

“What did you do?” Makoto stared at the splinters that used to be a door in shock.

“You know, that didn’t hurt one bit.” The now upright Reina wiped a smudge of dirt from her cheek, leaning lightly against Erika.

Aibon walked over, poking Reina in the shoulder. “With the force that you hit the door, you should have dislocated something.”

“I’m telling you, it doesn’t-.” A scream from upstairs interrupted Reina’s complaint and the group took off, spotting some stairs in the next room.

The mob followed the noises to a catwalk high above the conveyor belts and furnaces of the factory they were in. The sight that greeted them was a frantic Nono being slowly pulled into a deep shadow and Yui, with her tail wrapped tightly around a railing, trying desperately to pull her free.

Without thinking, Reina marched over and grabbed Nono’s arm, effortlessly yanking her out of harm’s way. With nothing to keep her balanced, Yui fell to the ground in a heap. Reina scooped both girls up and walked casually back to the gaping group of do-gooders.

“Um, okay, that was….something.” Even Miki couldn’t say anything witty.

“It was waiting for us.” Yui panted out, seeming comfortable in her place under Reina’s arm.

“In the shadows?” Reina asked, setting both girls gently back on the ground and stepped back into the group.

“No, it is the shadows.” Nono suddenly dropped to the ground, something dark shooting just over her head and narrowly missing impaling Yui, who back flipped out of the way.

“What are we supposed to do about it?” Yossui asked, shuffling the ‘unarmed’ mob into the safety of the stairwell.

“Just hold him still, I’ll do the rest!” It had Nono’s voice, but the person who was speaking was very obviously not Nono. Eyes glowing, the undead girl began making deliberate motions with her hands, signing runes in the air.

Acting mostly on instinct of the commands, Yui and Reina began to circle around the room, searching for the right shadow. A black fist darting out from a darkened corner was deftly caught by Yui’s quick tail. Then the hand started pulling her in.

“Ah! Help!” Yui dropped to all fours and dug her claws into the ground, slowing her trip backwards. The noise her efforts made had everyone wincing in pain and grabbing their ears, even the shadow man.

Reina took advantage of his distraction by grasping his arm and yanking him into the open. He was tall, standing a towering six and a half feet, and thin as a rail. Reina twisted his arm behind his back and had him kneeling on the ground, ready for Nono to do with as she pleased. He struggled valiantly against her hold, but Reina was much stronger.

“I just need another second.” Nono gritted her teeth, her voice giving the effect that another person was talking just behind her.

“Well hurry up!” Reina strained against her wriggling captive.

Nono made a motion as if she was pulling the air towards her and Reina felt the shadow man beginning to, literally, slip through her fingers. At first she was alarmed, but then realized that it was Nono’s doing. The shadow started screaming frantically in another language as fear set in.

Suddenly, he flew right out of Reina’s hold, straight at Nono’s body, and disappeared somewhere inside her. The force of the impact sent Nono to the ground in a heap.

“Nono!” Aibon was by her side in an instant, checking over her friend. She was a little upset to find that she wasn’t breathing. “Wake up!” Forgetting for the moment that her powers were healing, Aibon struck the center of Nono’s chest hard, relieved when the older girl started coughing.

“Ow.” Nono dully got out between breaths. Aibon gently hugged her friend, careful not to hurt her anymore.

“Are you alright? You kinda had us worried.” Miki crouched down beside the two, lightly touching Nono’s hair, a sign that she had been more worried than previously indicated.

“Yeah, I’m okay, just wasn’t expecting that to happen.” Nono pushed Aibon away and slowly got to her feet, rubbing her back gingerly. “Ah, that’s going to bruise.”

“I’ll fix it later.” Aibon waved her hand, taking three of Nono’s fingers in a gentle grip; that something passed between them again.

For a minute, the group all just stood around looking at each other, “Um, now what?” Yossui scratched the back of her head, shoving a hand in her pocket.

“Um, home?” Erika started walking down the stairs, “Work’s over, the day is done, and I’m hungry. Hmm, maybe a western restaurant instead.”

“Ooo! Western? Count me in!” Yui bounded down after her, nearly running into Erika’s shoulder.

After that, the others all started to break up. Miki invited everyone for yakiniku on her and Makoto, Reina, and Eri, who’d been unusually quiet the whole day, agreed. Rika begged off, saying that she had plans and Yossui just wasn’t hungry. Aibon and Nono said that they were just going to head back home and sleep. Their answer brought shock and horror.

“The terrible Two Top aren’t hungry? What is the world coming to?” Makoto giggled, poking Nono in the side.

“Well, at least I’ll leave the restaurant with my wallet in tact.” Miki patted the two on the head as she passed.

“Not if I have anything to say about it.” Makoto was quick on her heels with the remaining Rokkies not far behind.

Aibon and Nono took a cab from the first street corner they came across and rode in silence to their shared apartment. In silence, they rode the elevator to their floor, entered their home, and took off their shoes by the door. By unspoken agreement, they began stripping off their clothes on the way to the bedroom, leaving them in a trail behind them and only pausing when it was necessary.

Finally naked, both girls stood in Aibon’s bedroom in front of her queen size bed and just stared at each other. There was no fear or uncertainty, only confidence and decisiveness. Nono reached out to gently caress Aibon’s cheek, and they fell into each other with passion.

I haven't felt very good for a while now and as such I'm putting off writing anything new, at least on my existing stories. Big loss, right? I'll get back to things when my illness clears up.

Even though she was aware, Aibon didn’t open her eyes until she was fully awake. Her first sight of the morning was her best friend sprawled out on her stomach, naked, beside her; the sheets pulled only over her bottom half. Aibon’s brows furrowed at the bruises covering her smooth back. She’d have to do something about that.

Aibon leaned over and pressed her lips to Nono’s shoulder, the warmth of her skin bringing back memories of the night before, and lightly blew a stream of air down the damaged smoothness. Aibon felt the girl shiver underneath her, but watched the bruises fade into nothing. Satisfied, she settled back to continue watching her new lover sleep.

Just as she was starting to think that she should wake Nono and have a repeat performance of the night before, the alarm clock went off. Aibon sighed and reached across Nono to turn it off, noticing that the older girl had rolled over on her back, but appeared to still be sleeping. When she went to lie back down, though, she felt Nono’s arms wrap tightly around her and pull her down on top of her. A kiss pressed against her throat.

“Good morning. How did you sleep?” It was good to see Nono didn’t regret anything.

“Well, not very good, since you kept me up all night. Maybe we should take the day off to ‘talk’ about it.” Both giggled, wishing that they could really do that.

“We’ve got two hours until we have to be anywhere.” Nono said seriously, making her lover blush. None the less, Aibon allowed Nono to push her over and back into the blankets.

And two and a half hours later, the duo was walking into the dance studio, facing a very angry Yaguchi, “Where the hell have you two been!?”

“Um, traffic?” Nono laughed nervously, “You can’t kill me, Tsunku would be mad.”

“I would be mad.” Aibon stepped in front of her lover protectively.

“Ha!” Yaguchi scoffed, “You wish I liked you that much. Now, get to work! Your ass is mine for the rest of the day.” Nono whimpered, frightened for her life.

----I think I'm going to sleep now...

“I’m not in love with Yoshizawa-san!” Yui stomped her foot cutely, scowling at a laughing Erika.

“Then why do you flirt with her every chance you get?” Erika glanced up at the monitor, seeing Rika nodding to someone off camera, and then singing her line over again. They were each supposed to go over the song until they got it. Rika had been at this for twenty minutes and was still on the third line; it seemed Tsunku hated her voice more than usual today.

“Because it’s funny!” Pouting, Yui sat down on the sofa hard next to her friend, almost yowling when she sat on her tail. “I hate this thing!”

Erika winced sympathetically, reaching out to pet the offending appendage, “Aw, I don’t think it likes you much either, for all the trouble it’s giving you.” All day Yui had been slamming her tail into doors, having people step on it, or getting it caught on something. It was obviously driving her crazy.

Yui shivered in surprise at Erika’s touch, “Ooo, you’re cold. I can feel it through my fur.” she reached out to lay her hand on Erika’s arm; “You’re freezing!” she quickly amended.

“Am I?” the older girl looked down at herself, “I actually feel kinda warm.”

“You’re, like, five degrees!” Yui pressed her hand to Erika’s forehead, moving to within an inch of her face, and feeling no heat at all, “It’s like your blood is cold.”

“What are you doing?” Rika said from the doorway, making both jump.

“She’s cold.” Yui answered lamely, watching her leader raise an eyebrow.

“Okay… Erika’s next.” the aforementioned Erika sprung out of her seat and darted away from the uncomfortable atmosphere.

Rika sat down next to Yui who cleared her throat nervously. In silence, they watched Erika sing, and when she was done, Yui took her place and Erika tried unsuccessfully to make conversation. When training was over, the three set off to their shared dressing room, still in uncomfortable silence.

“Okay! I’ll prove something weird is going on!” Yui marched the rest of the way down the hall and entered the room. The other two heard her tearing apart something and slowly followed, peeking cautiously around the door frame. A clothes hanger clipped Erika’s ear, causing her to yelp and pull back around the corner, landing on her butt.

Yui stumbled out of the disaster zone brandishing a thermometer like a weapon. Nobody was sure where it had come from, “Open your mouth.” Yui demanded, staring at Erika with a demented expression.

Eyes wide, Erika started to crab walk backwards; Rika watched in amusement. She was fairly sure Yui wouldn’t hurt her.

“You know, there’s another place I can stick this.” Yui waved the thermometer threateningly.

Erika immediately stopped moving backwards and sat up straight, clamping her knees together and opening her mouth obediently. Yui happily crouched beside her, placing the thermometer under her tongue. Erika closed her mouth and the three waited quietly.

“…”

“…”

“…”

The beeping of the thermometer echoed loudly in the hallway and Yui reached out to snatch it from Erika’s mouth. She brought it to her face and squinted at the small numbers, “Hmm, 7°C. That’s cold.”

“No way does it say that.” Rika walked over to see, taking the device from Yui, “Wow, 7°C, go figure.”

“Maybe it has to do with my powers.” Erika shrugged, “Like, maybe it’s ice.” Yui and Rika stared at her, “Um, just a thought.” Suddenly, she realized that her breath was visible and for a minute, the three just watched it condense in the air.

“Well, I’m hungry.” Yui said; standing and beginning to walk away. Rika was quick to follow her, leaving Erika still sitting on the ground in bewilderment.

She looked around and noticed that she was alone in the hallway, then slowly got to her feet. “Hey guys, wait up!”

Hmm, another filler chapter... At least it's something, right?

“Go on without me!” Nono stretched her hand out towards Aibon from her place face down on the floor, “I’ll be fine but you have to live! Go! Forget about me! Ah.” Nono sighed and placed her head down on the scratchy carpet, hearing Aibon’s giggles above her.

“You idiot, it’s only another three feet to our dressing room. Get up.” Aibon grabbed Nono’s outstretched arm and started dragging her, ignoring her cries of pain.

“Oh god! My arm! It’s gonna fall off!” Suddenly Nono was dropped and she realized that she was at the threshold of the dressing room. Nonchalantly, Nono stood, dusted herself off, and entered the room, gesturing Aibon inside before closing the door. For a minute they just stared at each other.

“So, you wanna do it?” Aibon finally suggested. Nono immediately beamed.

“Yes, sir!” And for a while there was no more talking.

A knock at the door interrupted their activities, “Did you lock the door?” Aibon asked, slightly alarmed; if that was Eri…

“If I didn’t, we’re about to give someone extreme brain trauma.” Nono chuckled quietly from her place on top of Aibon. The door handle jiggled frantically, but the door didn’t budge. Both sighed in relief and the knocker became impatient, rattling the whole door frame with their knocks.

Ignoring them, Nono and Aibon searched leisurely for their upper wear, taking their time putting their shirts back on. “We should just answer the door half dressed and see what happens.” Aibon giggled.

“What!? Jeez!” Nono threw open the door, pretending to be pissed and almost sending Eri to the ground. The frightened turtle looked up from where Reina had caught her and started to whimper.

“Um, we were going to go eat and maybe meet up with the others later.” Reina braved, setting Eri back on her feet.

Giggling, Aibon patted Nono on the head, “She was just eating, but I’m sure we’re both still hungry.” The two rokkies were confused when Nono started to giggle uncontrollably.

“So, are we just gonna grab a snack in the cafeteria?” Nono wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, finally coming down.

“Yeah.” Reina raised an eyebrow at the two, a little weirded out.

“Hey.” Asami Kimura leaned her hip against the table beside where Erika was sitting, crossing her arms loosely and keeping her back to Yui and Rika, on the other side of the table.

“Hey.” Erika replied, raising her eyebrows in greeting. They didn’t usually play the hey game, but what the hell?

“You know,” Asami started shyly, “There’s something different about you today. Something…. charming.” Behind her, Yui choked on her soda and Rika almost spewed water out of her nose. Erika was cool as a cucumber, though.

“Oh, you mean I’m not charming normally?” She gave the shorter girl a sexy half smile, watching her blush.

“I didn’t mean it like that.” Asami was quick to say, placing a hand on Erika’s shoulder and leaning towards her a little.

“Well, you still hurt my feelings.” Erika placed her hand over her heart and the smile turned into a cute pout.

“How about, if you’re not busy later, I make it up to you? Say, over dinner?” Starting to feel a little jealous, Yui growled lowly in her throat. The sound was ignored.

“Hmm, sounds good. Meet me here after work and we’ll go somewhere.” Erika’s pout turned back into the half smile and she watched Asami scamper away happily.

“What the hell?” Yui exclaimed as soon as Asami was out of hearing range.

“I don’t know,” Erika gave a goofy grin, “but that was cool. Though a little weird, it was like somebody confident took over my mouth.”

Rika was still staring wide-eyed, “You just, totally, with Asami, totally.”

“Don’t strain yourself.” Erika tapped her leader’s head lightly, somewhat snapping her out of her daze.

“I didn’t even know you two were interested in each other like that.” Yui sulked, her lower lip sticking out childishly.

“She’s cute and we are friends, at the least. Why shouldn’t I like her?” It seemed to be a challenge; Erika tilted her head down and gave Yui an intense look from under her eyelashes.

“I don’t care; I’m just saying that it’s weird for her to suddenly ask you out.”

“If you don’t care, then why are we talking about it?”

“Because.”

“Because why?”

“Just because!”

“Shut up!” Rika slapped her hands on the table, “Yui, Erika’s old enough to make her own decisions, no matter how stupid and Erika, Yui only cares because she wishes you’d take her out! Jeez!”

For a moment, it was silent, Yui and Erika staring each other down from across the table. Then Erika blinked deliberately, “You want some cake? I’ll buy.”

“Yeah, that sounds nice.” Yui was all smiles again.

I haven't written anything new in a while. Haven't had the time, what with the need to sleep every couples of days interupting my busy schedule.

“Hey, look! It’s Biyuuden!” Nono screamed sarcastically running over to their table. Erika and Yui didn’t look up from their cake, “Can I have your autographs?”

Aibon smacked the back of Nono’s head lightly, “Idiot, sit down.” Eri and Reina wisely kept silent, taking places at the end of the table and away from the battlefield.

“So what’s going on?” Nono asked lightly, taking a seat next to Rika and feeling Aibon sit down next to her.

“Erika has a date.” Yui replied cattily, glaring over a forkful of cake. Erika didn’t twitch.

“Oh yeah? Anyone we know?” Aibon perked up at the mention of gossip.

“Asami.” Erika said lightly, taking another bite of cake.

“Kon Kon!?” Eri almost screamed, eyes bulging. The other three also adopted various looks of surprise.

“Other Asami.” Erika replied flatly, giving Eri a sideways glare.

“Oh.” Eri laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head; Aibon and Nono sighed in relief, while Reina looked a little disappointed.

“Anyway, I wanted to talk about what happened yesterday.” Rika cleared her throat and turned to Nono, “What happened yesterday?”

“Um, I dunno. It was really strange, like, one minute, I’m pulling Mako-chan out of her chair and the next I’m swimming through downtown Tokyo and then climbing the side of a building. The only thing I really remember are the voices.”

“Voices?” Makoto asked blandly, coming up behind Nono and propping herself on the older girl’s head. Everyone on that side of the table, except Nono, jumped in surprise.

“Yeah.” Nono went on as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening, “I couldn’t really understand what was being said because it was in English, but they were telling me to go in that direction.”

“Who cares about your schizoid experiences?” Miki and Yossui joined the others at the now crowded table, “We want to know what that thing was, where it went and how the hell it went there.”

“I’m not sure. If I had to guess, I’d say he was a Dark One, but I don’t think they all look like that. As for where he went, well, he’s here.” Nono tapped her temple with two fingers, “It’s weird; I can feel him moving around.”

“That is weird.” Nono suddenly heard Eri’s voice, but when she turned to the girl, Eri was taking a long drink from a glass of water. More curiousness, hmm.

“Gaaahh! This sucks!” Aibon’s voice rang out loudly, making Nono jump, bumping Makoto, and Eri choke and cough. The others gave them strange looks as they both turned in alarmed to Aibon, who hadn’t spoken, and then to each other. What the hell?

“Hmm, maybe you really are going crazy and it’s just contagious.” Miki raised an eyebrow at Nono, inching her chair backwards. Nono just nodded, maybe it was insanity.

“Okay, well, break time’s over. We have to get back to work.” Yossui stood from the table and motioned the other Musume to get going. After that, everyone went their separate ways, promising to meet up later. Until then, the idol life beckons.

This was originally longer, but it didn't make sense so I split it into two... I love Erika...

Erika sighed, glancing again at the clock over her companion’s shoulder. Her alarm would be going off any minute now and she knew that Asami had the day off. Carefully, so as not to disturb her, Erika reached over Asami and switched the alarm off, lying back down and pressing close to the older girl’s naked back.

Nice as it was, Erika didn’t intend for the night to end up this way; she had resisted, in fact. “I can’t.” she remembered saying, pulling away from Asami’s insistent kisses, “I feel like I’m using you.”

“No commitment.” was the breathless response, “Just tonight, please.” Her pleading expression had made Erika cave in immediately.

Studying Asami’s peaceful expression, Erika realized that there really was a kind of commitment between them now, an undeniable connection that Erika just couldn’t regret. Still, it was time to get up.

Reluctantly rising, she gathered up their clothes from their scattered positions around the room, carrying them out to the washing machine. On her way to the bathroom, she snagged a towel from the closet. In twenty minutes, she was walking back into her bedroom, toweling off her hair. She noticed that Asami hadn’t stirred at all and smiled fondly.

The rest of her routine went normally, albeit very quietly, and she fed the dog, then fixed a breakfast for two, wrapping up Asami’s and placing it in the oven. Before she left, though, Erika grabbed a pen and a notepad, sitting down at the table. It felt as though she should say something before she left, even if it wasn’t really talking.

‘Good morning~!’ after a second of thought, she put a heart and a smiley face next to it, ‘I hope you slept well, I know I did, but I had to leave early today and thought you might enjoy sleeping in a little.’ once she got started, the words seemed easier to put down, ‘Breakfast is in the oven, help yourself to it. I’ll be mad if it’s still there when I get back tonight.’ She giggled and put a squee (>.<) face next to that. ‘Feel free to use my shower or even just lounge around all day, I don’t mind, just no parties.’ Another smiley face. ‘See you at work tomorrow! Erika.’ She signed her name with a flourish, doodling hearts around the border of the page.

Walking back into the bedroom, Erika placed the whole notepad next to the alarm clock on the nightstand, quickly setting the alarm to go off at nine. She rummaged around in her drawers for some clothes for Asami to wear once she’d gotten up and placed them on a chair, dragging the chair over next to the bed. Satisfied, Erika did a last check, grabbed her things, and headed out the door.

She let her thoughts wander on her way to the studio, but as soon as she stepped in the door, the luxury of silent contemplation went out the window.

-----....I love Erika....

Like I said, originally longer. It's really just crap now.

“So?” Yui asked loudly for the fourteenth time, getting the attention of half the cafeteria.

“Shh!” Erika shushed, slamming her glass of water gently on the table top. The entire day had been like this, Yui loudly asking her what had happened while still trying to be vague and Erika hadn’t been able to concentrate during filming, earning her two shots of Jose Pedro’s Extra Spicy Virgin Sauce and a lecture from Rika.

“Tell me!” Yui whined earning dirty looks from some of the staff.

“A lady doesn’t kiss and tell.” Erika glared, clutching her glass. The younger girl wasn’t usually this annoying, and even when she was, it didn’t usually bother Erika.

“So? What does that have to do with you?” Yui asked snottily.

“I’m not telling you anything!” Erika yelled, the water exploding out of her cup and drenching the younger girl.

Yui yowled, eyes glowing red, “Mind your temper, I could tear you apart!”

“I’d like to see you try.” Erika absently waved her hand and the water that had spilled on Yui was back in her glass and ice cold. Both girls blinked in confusion and looked at each other.

“Um…” Yui’s eyes went back to normal, “What was that?”

“I’m not sure.” Erika poked her glass experimentally.

It was silent for a little while, and then both girls got up and headed for the elevators. The ride up was quiet, until they reached their floor.

“So, you going to tell me what happened last night?”

“Maybe if you want to reenact it.”

“…”

“…”

“Okay.”

“Alright.”

Scary Rika, ergh. *shivers*
Spunky Muffin, eh? I like that...

It was as everyone was leaving that Nono was assaulted by the voices in her head again. It was exactly like the last time and the feelings caused her to freeze with one hand on the door that led outside. This behavior did not go unnoticed, mostly because her sudden stop caused everyone behind her to bump into each other.

“What gives?” Reina called from somewhere in the back. No one bothered to answer the slightly upset yanki.

Understanding settled in the ones that could see the now familiar blank look on Nono’s face, and they followed her without question. Once she got moving again, Nono walked calmly out onto the curb and hailed a taxi, piling into it and not closing the door. Aibon immediately followed, grabbing Reina’s arm and Yui’s hand and dragging them into the bowels of the cab.

Erika, seeing that the back was full, opened the passenger side door and climbed in, smiling pleasantly at the driver.

“Where to, ladies?” The driver gave what he must have thought of as a charming grin, honestly disgusting everyone but Nono, who ignored the look and said something in perfectly unaccented English. The driver quailed, “°I no speak Egrish.°”

Everyone in the backseat turned to Nono and blinked in surprise. What the hell were those voices saying to her? “She was asking if you could take us somewhere.” Erika translated. The surprised blinks moved to her.

“Oh, of course.” the cabbie, minus nasty smirk, followed Erika’s translated instructions, while an uncomfortable silence settled into the back of the taxi.

It seemed like forever before the cab pulled up in front of yet another burned out husk of a building, this fire looking recent. The four story apartment building was still slightly smoking and the blown out windows cried in pain. After paying the cabbie, the girls slowly piled out of the vehicle and stood in a line, standing in awe of the sight before them.

“Do we have to go in?” Yui whimpered, ears flattening against her head.

“You know we do.” Nono sighed, snapped from whatever trance she was in.

They stood gathering their courage for another minute, before Erika walked cautiously up to the steel front door, examining the smoke damage around the edges. Hesitantly, she placed the back of her hand against the door, hissing slightly when the cold of her hand meeting the hot door produced a sizzling sound.

“Guess we’re not going in that way.” Aibon raised an eyebrow; sighing onto Erika’s wounded hand and watching it heal.

“Oh yeah?” Reina sized up the door as if it had done her a personal wrong, and then stomped on the center of the door. The metal gave a twisting shout before it imploded inwards. Reina stood back with a smirk and gestured Nono inside.

“Or you could do that.” Aibon mumbled and followed her lover into the dank depths of the lobby.

“I can’t see a thing.” Nono peered into a windowless side hallway, unable to tell how far back it went.

“I can.” Yui stepped forward, unconsciously taking a half crouching position, “It’s a short walk to the stairs. I think the fire started near here, it’s much more warped than the other hallway, almost as if the walls started melting.” The other girls allowed Yui to take the lead, following behind her slowly.

Erika, being slightly without powers, was last in line. She passed by a hole in the wall and peered inside seeing a blown out window and nothing more. There was no sign that anything had previously occupied the room, the fire being so hot that everything had simply disintegrated. Erika shivered, moving on.

Peering into the dimly lit stairway, Yui strained her ears to pick up any slight noise. After a few seconds, she cautiously crept through the doorway, sensing the others follow closely behind her. The smell of burn overwhelmed her sensitive nose and the blackened walls made the light filtering in through the tiny, randomly placed windows all the more precious. Quietly, they all crept up the stairs.

The uneventful trip set everyone’s nerves on edge and by the time the group reached the top floor, they were all practically bouncing with tension. “How do we know where he is?” Reina whispered, making everyone jump.

The thought made everyone pause. They hadn’t even checked the other floors. “Well, fire moves up.” Nono suggested.

“Yeah, that sounds good.” “That’s about right.” And so Yui pushed open the door to the top floor and the group was blown backwards by a huge explosion.

Well, you can't kill Nono, because then you wouldn't have a purpose for the story.  It'd be funny in an ironic sort of way though.  Otherwise, I'm not sure.  Maybe one of them is fireproof, or like a human torch type thing. :fire:   If not, Aibon's going to have a lot of work to do!

OMG it's an update?

Erika awoke to the feeling of being repeatedly kicked in the ribs. Being slightly uncomfortable with the sensation, she swatted at the offending object, finding it to be a leg. Grabbing the leg, and assuming it to be attached to a person, Erika gave a yank and heard a thud and an ‘ow!’ as a body landed next to her.

“Easy with the goods!” Yui shouted from her new place on the floor, looking none too happy. Her displeasure was ignored.

Erika sat up slowly, groaning when she felt a sharp pain in her back, “What happened?” She considered the blood smeared across Yui’s face, “Is that your blood?”

“Yeah.” The younger girl gave a fanged grin and Erika noted that she seemed a little more animal like, “Aibon healed me.” Yui motioned over to where the healer was sitting and cradling Nono’s head next to them at the bottom of the stairs, “Me and Nono took the worst of the explosion. Outwardly, we’re both fine, but my ribs have been aching and Nono just won’t wake up. I don’t think Aibon has complete control over her power yet.”

“Well, if she uses her breath to heal, then the injuries must be somewhere her breath can’t reach.” Erika slowly deduced, mind struggling to come to grips about the whole power thing.

“Yeah smart one, that’s what I said.” Yui glowered playfully, helping Erika to her feet, “We should find some way to help Reina, now, she can’t hold the door forever.”

Speaking of the young yankee, Erika now realized that she was standing in front of the door at the top of the stairs, holding the end of a broken railing against the glowing red metal door. Even from twenty feet away, Erika could feel the heat radiating from behind the barricade.

Cautiously making her way up the steps, Erika felt an unexpected surge of power inside her, cooling her against the heat. An unfamiliar soothing presence entered her mind and whispered directly into her brain, guiding her body into a series of unconscious gestures. At the ends of her fingers, Erika felt something gather and build in strength, an unseen force connected with her soul and the soul of the person guiding her.

Suddenly, the energy in her hands released and water burst from the pipes in the walls, shooting straight towards the super heated door. With an angry hiss and a cloud of cool steam, the metal returned to its normal color. Erika opened her eyes and stared up into the shocked and worried faces of two of her fellow Rabbits.

“What?” she asked, rising from the ground, “You never seen water before?” Yui laughed and Reina shook her head, “Go ahead, give the door a kick.” Erika gestured at said door.

“Um, what about the fire guy behind it? He’ll roast us!” Reina waved her hands around urgently, denting the concrete wall by accident.

“Let me deal with him.” The walls rumbled as water rushed down the pipes and gathered around Erika, “Just kick and dive away.”

“Easier said than done.” Reina grumbled, taking a position just in front of the door. Yui wisely stood back, standing guard next to Aibon at the bottom of the stairs.

Reina took a deep breath and signaled with her hands that the count down would start at three. After a second, she lowered her ring finger, signaling two, then she closed her hand into a fist, skipping one, and gave a mighty kick to the abused door, using the momentum to somersault backwards over Erika’s head and landing on the step behind her. Reina fell on her bottom and tumbled the rest of the way down to the landing below.

As soon as the door flew inwards, Erika let fly half of the water floating around her, replenishing it immediately. A split second later, she heard the water destroy a window on the other side of the corridor now open in front of her. Slowly, she made her way into the hall, crouching a little to be ready to spring aside.

It was obvious that the Dark One was planning an ambush, but Erika had no choice but to find it and engage it in mortal kombat. At the last thought, Erika vowed never to watch another subbed American movie again. The first door she came to on her left was jammed shut. The same was true for the next door on her right and the second door on her left. The second door on her right hummed with energy as she drew closer and that’s when Erika recognized the decoy.

Except it wasn’t Erika who pointed out the trap, it was the person in her head that warned of the danger. He also indicated that she could use the water to gain eyes in the next room. A little bit of the water swarming around her leg crept under the door and suddenly, Erika wasn’t looking at the door in front of her anymore, she was staring right at a huge fireball. There was nothing else in sight.

A noise from behind her alerted the presence that the trap was sprung, but it was too late. Erika screamed as something as hard as stone scorched through her shirt and into the skin of her back. She hit the ground in a roll, turning and shooting a blast of water at where the attack had come from, a man made of pure flames. The fire creature had moved, darting around so that he was behind her again and sending another fireball in her direction.

Erika was faster, using the water around her feet to springboard her into the air and over the fireball. She twisted in mid air and shot another water projectile at the creature. It hit its mark, but the creature just shrugged it off. Erika was honestly scared now, and the fact that the presence in her head was currently at a loss didn’t help.

As she landed, Erika took off for the stairwell, hoping that she could find a little help. The creature was suddenly in front of her, though, and it howled, fire springing from its body towards Erika. Instinctively, she raised her arms and was encased in a shield of water. The attack sizzled off her tomb, as a sudden idea came to her head.

A flick of her wrist had the pipes bursting around the two combatants and water quickly flooded around them. Another hand motion formed the flowing drops into a solid sheet of wall. The creature realized what was about to happen, but found his path blocked when he turned to flee. With a cruel smirk, Erika enclosed the Dark One in the water shield and slammed the walls together.

The creature gave an unholy shriek as the water steamed around his body, slowly freezing and suffocating him. Something told Erika that this wouldn’t be enough to kill him though. The presence in her mind gently took the control of her body from her, effortlessly switching their places, and Erika watched as her body was entombed in the water shield with the creature.

Suddenly, she and the Dark One were slammed together and Erika screamed in excruciating pain as the flames licked her skin before moving inside her body. The heat was unbearable and she fell to the ground, stilling screaming and gasping for breath. The cool water raining down around her did nothing to squelch the burning of her insides and she noticed nothing except for the pain. Thankfully, her mind was overwhelmed and she faded into a peace less slumber.

Notes on the fic:
I like how the powers that each person has effect their bodies and their personalities. It makes for a much more interesting superhero.
EDIT:Oh, and another reason I like this fic is that you had Erika have sex twice. They should have medals for that sort of thing.

*blows dust off thread* Does anyone even remember this story?

“I don’t understand any of this.” Nono was confused at the familiar voice invading her peaceful slumber and slowly reviewed her memories of how she had ended up wherever she was. “Why do I feel like this, so scared and frantic? I’ve never felt anything more than friendship for you before. Why did it change?” Aibon seemed unaware that her lover had awakened and continued her whispered confession, “I’ve always loved you, Nono, but not like this. Was it because you died? Have I always felt this way and it took losing you to realize that or what?”

“Maybe,” Nono rasped, opening her eyes and staring up into her friend’s soulful face, “It’s not because I died, but because you brought me back.” The injured girl took note of her surroundings from the soft bed that she lied in. The walls were made of a dark wood that matched the sparse furnishings in the room; the ceiling was a thatched straw-like material and the floor appeared to be solidly packed dirt. “Where are we?”

Aibon looked confused, “This is your room.” Nono blinked and suddenly everything was familiar again.

“Oh.”

“Are you okay? You were out for a while; even Erika woke up before you.” Aibon laid her hand on Nono’s forehead in concern.

“What happened?” Nono slowly sat up and scooched backwards until she could rest against the headboard. Aibon quickly summarized what she knew.

“But Erika seems fine now, even though she says she doesn’t know where the fire guy went to.” The younger girl climbed into bed with her friend and curled up next to her. Nono absently put an arm around Aibon and pulled her closer, not even noticing the blush that suddenly appeared on her cheeks.

“Maybe he’s inside of her, like the other one is in me?” Nono poked at the angry presence in her head, testing the strength of its mental cage. “He is easy to forget once you’re used to him.”

“Him? You’ve given it a gender?” Aibon pulled away from the embrace to give her friend a strange look.

“Well, I kept thinking ‘it’ but he didn’t seem to like that.” Nono shrugged, starting to ease out of bed. She felt a little woozy, so she decided to take her time, slowly swinging her legs over the side of the bed and sliding down until they touched the floor. By the time she stood up, Aibon was already at her side, gently gripping her upper arm, just in case. In thanks, she leaned over and gave her friend a long, thorough kiss.

‘If you reward me like that every time,’ Nono heard Aibon think, ‘I’ll carry you to work.’

“Carry me, huh? Oh, thinking of work.” Nono spoke again, smiling at the shocked look on Aibon’s face, “We should probably hurry so Yaguttsan doesn’t yell at me.”

Aibon watched her walk over to the closet and start to rummage around for clothes, “Wait, did you just read my mind?” The more she though about it, the less of a shock it was.

“Yup. Do these pants make my butt look big?” Aibon watched her friend emerge from the closet, buttoning up a very tight pair of jeans.

“A little, but I like it.” It wasn’t like she could lie to Nono anymore anyway and she usually didn’t when it came to things like this.

Nono made a sound of affirmation before she stripped off the pants and tossed them on the bed in the center of the room along with a tight, orange t-shirt. Then she pulled on some comfortable, pink sweats and pulled out a small, blue gym bag, “Is this your’s?” Nono asked inanely.

“Uh, I don’t think so. One of us probably stole it from someone.” Aibon tossed Nono’s change of clothes into the bag and they were off, heading out the front door putting on oversized coats and glasses and without grabbing anything to eat, “I’ll pay for muffins when we get there.” The younger of the two mentioned as they scampered down the stairs of the apartment building.

“Okay.” Nono was never one to turn down a free meal, “But I owe you lunch.” Their hands met in the chilly morning air and warmth ran between them. They stood a little closer together.

For a while, they passed the trip in a comfortable silence, not even really thinking of anything. Then Aibon decided to test out a theory. ‘So, can you really read my thoughts?’ she snuck a glance at her companions, watching her smile.

“Yes, I really can.” Nono continued to face forward as she spoke, trying not to giggle.

‘Well, what about him?’ Aibon looked at the guy that was walking in front of them.

“I don’t think it works like that.” Finally turning to Aibon, Nono shrugged, “So far, I’ve only been hearing the other girl’s thoughts. It’ll probably stay that way, but I think Eri may have real telepathy.”

“’Real telepathy?’ There’s fake telepathy?” Giving her friend a strange look and watching her shrug again, Aibon let out a soft sigh, “So what makes you think Eri’s got it?”

“Well, mostly because I can hear her thoughts better than anyone else’s and she tends to freak out a lot. I really hope she can learn control before it drives her crazy.” Catching the next question before Aibon said anything, Nono replied , “I can probably only hear ya’ll’s thoughts because of the whole powers thing. I mean, it’s kinda my fault that this all started, so it makes sense.”

It did make sense and the two found themselves in a rare state of thoughtfulness. The rest of the short walk was spent without conversation, though they continued to hold hands right up until they crossed the threshold into the studio.

“So, where are we supposed to meet Yaguttsan today?” Aibon finally piped up as the two headed towards the cafeteria.

“Hell if I know, let’s just wait for her to find us. Until then, though, where’s that muffin you promised me?” Aibon laughed as Nono sat down at a table, going over to the food display and picking out a chocolate chip muffin, Nono’s favorite, and then a blueberry one for herself. As she paid for them, she turned to look at her friend and noticed a familiar, short figure standing over Nono.

“Oh, well, looks like I’ll be taking these to go.” She told the lady at the counter, watching her tuck the muffins into a box. Across the room, Yaguchi grabbed Nono by the ear and dragged her out of her seat, sending Aibon scrambling to catch up with them.

Filler chapter.

Aibon once again found herself sitting on the vanity in the dressing room, waiting for Nono to be done with her shower. Today’s practice had gone off with barely a hitch and Yaguchi had finally lathered Nono with praise instead of death threats, making the undead girl beam the whole way down the hall. The scene had made Aibon jealous in a way that she’d never felt towards Yaguchi before.

‘Because I love Nono?’ Aibon knew that she should be careful of her thoughts, but she couldn’t help trying to muddle through this problem. It didn’t help that she’d been feeling a strange stirring in her mind, almost as if someone else was there with her. ‘Do I love Nono?’ she asked her heart.

One half of her screamed an affirmative and prodded her into joining her lover’s shower, while the other half of her wept at the wrongness of wanting to do naughty things with her best friend. But the fact was that she wanted to do naughty things with Nono; in fact, just the thought of the older girl soaping herself up in a steamy shower gave Aibon hope for a continuing relationship. And also hope for getting laid sometime in the next few minutes.

Aibon slid down off of the vanity, her mind wandering into thoughts of how she would pounce on her lover as she entered the room. She was so lost in her dream world that she almost missed a blushing Nono tiptoe up behind her. Aibon spun around, mind still half into a particularly energetic fantasy, to see the object of her affections fully dressed. She’d have to fix that.

In one swift motion, Nono found her pants pulled down to mid thigh and she was being hefted up onto the vanity, knees folded back to her chest. Then, all the vivid thoughts in her lover’s head started to come to life.

ohmygodapagebreakohmygodapagebreakohmygodapagebreak

Meanwhile, a certain turtle was having a troubling day, what with being able to hear the thoughts of every person within what seemed like a five block radius. Although, looking back on the past couple of days, she should have known that her power would escalate as time passed, even if it still didn’t help her deal with it.

What was worse was that she was currently walking next to one Fujimoto Miki and hearing her critique everyone’s fashion, hair style, and body type as they passed by. And even better, the people that Miki didn’t find horribly out of style, she would imagine naked and in bed with her. It made Eri wonder if this was the way she amused herself each day or if maybe she just subconsciously wanted to torture the younger girl.

Since it was almost lunchtime and the only two not down in the cafeteria were the twins, Miki had volunteered to go get them and Eri had been dragged along. The two were thankfully approaching their goal when Eri suddenly became aware of some strange thoughts coming from the other side of the wall. The vulgarity of those thoughts made Eri freeze in place, alerting Miki and making her pause as well.

“What is it?” Miki asked, turning around to face Eri with a questioning look. The young turtle swallowed hard, feeling her face begin to burn.

“Maybe we should come back later.” Eri began to back away, trying to block out the images that began to assault her mind.

“Nonsense, lunch is only going to be another forty minutes and Yocchan wanted to discuss our situation with everyone there.” Miki started towards the door again, Eri unconsciously following and feeling dread sink in.

Miki approached the door and gave three sharp wraps. From the other side, two loud groans emerged. ‘If it’s Eri,’ Kago’s voice resonated through Eri’s head, ‘Let’s just have sex with her.’

‘The funny thing is,’ Tsuji’s voice rang out; ‘Eri is out there.’

‘No.’ Eri thought at the undead girl, ‘Let’s not do anything with me.’

‘Please,’ Tsuji responded to Eri’s surprise, ‘She’s just kidding. We’re decent; you can open the door now.’

Eri nodded to herself and walked up between Miki to the door, cautiously turning the handle and pushing the door inwards. Inside, the infamous duo stood with grins on their red faces while a strange smell wafted from the room. It seemed like it should be familiar, but Eri couldn’t quite place it. Then Miki pushed by her, taking a whiff of the air.

“It smells like sex in here.” Eri blushed, mind suddenly clicking at Miki’s words.

“I’m not surprised.” Tsuji replied without an ounce of shame, taking Kago’s hand and tugging her out of the room, “Now, what was that about a meeting?”

Miki shook her head, shrugging off the weirdness and following them, “Downstairs. But I bet you already knew that.” Eri and Tsuji exchanged looks once the turtle caught up to them. Miki was always very aware off things, but just how much did she know?

The small group headed to the cafeteria, the official place for any unofficial meetings held in Hello Pro. It may not offer the privacy of actual meeting rooms but it was perfect in its convenience. Approaching the double table that had been set up, the girls noticed that there was one less person than there should have been.

Miki did a quick count, “Where’s Erika?” the four took seats around the table.

“She ran off a little while after you two. I think she got a text or something.” Yossui spoke up in her ‘leader’ voice, “I’m not waiting for her; we need to discuss what’s happening. Nono,” the girl instinctively straightened up at the tone, “So far, we’ve just been relying on you to sense one; I want you to start searching for them.”

“How can I do that? I don’t even know how to use my powers.” Nono raised an eyebrow at her friend.

“Take up meditation, you too, Kamei, you’re looking a little stressed lately.” Yossui threw down a flyer, “Give this place a call.” Erika slunk back up to them and sat in her chair between Yui and Miki. “I want these creeps found and dealt with, before they start causing problems.”

“Whose lipstick is that?” Yui asked, grabbing Erika’s ear and rubbing the pink smudges.

Erika swallowed, “Um, Maki’s.” Yui pulled the collar of her shirt down, revealing bite marks on her neck.

“And are those from Maki too?” Yui voice was strained, making her sound slightly upset.

“Um, actually, they’re from Mai.” Erika gave a nervous giggle, feeling not only Yui’s glare but Yossui’s eyes boring holes into her skull. “I think I’d like to try some meditation.” She cleared her throat awkwardly.

“The first class is at six tonight. Don’t be late.”

Yay, an update!

Aibon getting her mind read was must suck. Now she has to make sure to keep her mind pure, just in case there's other mind-readers. Hum! I like that Eri shows up in this chapter a lot!  :nya:

Erika's coolness is getting her all the ladies...! Poor Yui... :-\ I love how Yossie's glaring at Erika when she confessed that it was Mai who left bite marks on her.

I finally got around to reading all of this and I must say it is just AWESOME. Seriously love how you made Erika turn out (she's becoming a ladies' man...sorta). And poor Eri. But must admit the line about "Let's not do anything with me" totally owns. Looking forward to another chapter.

I demand more hot mind-reader-on-mind-reader action, and more hot Erika-on-everybody-else action. ...And whatever else you can think up.
MORE.
