It's so sad to see her go, she's was joining MM when I started listening to MM. So maybe because of that she always had a special spot in the group for me.

Anybody has any pics ? I kind of uninformed but I don't know if there was a graduation concert...

My Koharu story: Was indifferent with the whole "Miracle" tag, pfft I mean come on really. To put this kinda pressure on a kid. The animes weren't much I cared for anyways. I guess it took me to actually witness a concert in person, see em in and about LA at Anime Expo to full appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to be a Musume. Sad to see her end up in a pretty bare wasteland known as the Grad Plaza

My Koharu story:
Oh, Koharu Kusumi.I used to do the first because I thought she was stealing too much spotlight just because she was the youngest (before Aika). And I didn't found her exactly pretty or even entertaining (maybe because I was too closed-mind). But since the 10nen unit, I started to see her in a better way. She has a lot of energy and a very genki personality, besides despising all that anime stuff or the super high-pitched tone she used, seems to be a very mature girl (even more than those older than her in Momusu).

How mature she showed in interviews.

Ai, Risa, and Linlin were on a show and there was a preview of Koharu's graduation concert

it starts around 5:08

Call this an effect of me not being a longtime follower of Momusu like everyone else, but I've recently been checking out random pictures and videos of the group from last year and it will sometimes feel weird to see Koharu in them, like I'm already so used to the new 8-girl lineup. Maybe it's because her graduation happened in December, which is technically last year and we're in a new year now? Or because I've developed the instinct of seeing those no longer in the group as having left ages ago due to the lineup not changing for so long?

Then again, I've always had this habit regarding groups that make subtle changes to their roster, like a particular individual's presence/absence can mark the time period in which the pic/video was taken, so even if this change happened recently it feels ancient somehow (again probably because it's the first change in a long time).

Anyone else feel the same way or is it just me?

^ to be honest, you can tell the difference between changes like the songs have a different feel or the personality of the group changes. Although I am also not a long time follower, many start with the leader and since this is the first change under her "reign" we may not see the long-term effects soon

And now that I think about it, I think the weirdness of seeing her still in the group probably has the most to do with knowing that she would be the first to leave out of the group's most stable lineup. Plus her departure is the first one I've been aware of as it happened, with all other graduations happening long before I started getting into this whole thing, and seeing history develop and move on in real time is definitely different from the crash course I put myself through last year (which I wrapped up just as her graduation was announced).

I'm sure everyone else who has been long time fans are in contrast still weirded out by her absence.

You could tell from that performance alone that all the girls would truly miss her being a part of the group. They were losing a very unique girl, someone who was always positive and energetic. I'm sure Koharu was a great stress-relief for most, if not all, of the girls.

^ totally agree, she was the preppy character they needed and that is probably the biggest part they had for being there for almost three years

Now, ever since I have been a fan almost 2 years ago, I have been critical of Koha and many agreed to the fact of anime songs fit her more (I do like Tan tan taan~) 4 years past and I had thought improvement was very small and not enough to make her one of many favorites. After watching her from the start and up until the platinum 9 concert, it was no improvement voice-wise. Now, I have to say that if it took a song that she miserably failed the first time around during her training, to make what people think of her, I can say she has gone through a great transformation, and it wasn't the best performance (Nacchi wins it hands down) but I can actually say that Koha improved and maybe one song may not say it all but I give it to her

Just finished watching Nine Smile and I must say Koharu was completely in her element the whole concert. She had me smiling from the very beginning. Like Reina said, there's never been a graduation before with so much laughter. It was completely heartbreaking and hilarious at the same time.
