Mathematically, My Chemical Romance shouldn't exist either.  But they just put out a new album.

But really, only in Florida will people spend their time mathematically proving that something doesn't exist when common sense already does that.

Silly mathematician.  He's basically saying that if vampires existed at all, their population would have increased faster than that of humans, and there wouldn't be any more humans left in the world.

What he's forgetting is that the valiant efforts of generations of Slayers like Buffy Summers who have risked their lives to cull the vampire population.  These math egg heads have to get out more! :pepper:

He's also assuming that everyone bit by a vampire automatically gets turned into one. I think most vampire lore depicts that vampires mostly "eat" humans and only selectively "turn" others, so his theory won't exactly work. It's sooo not a new theory either - I read the same thing in a children's book when I was like 8.

Wow.  I'm so glad there are people out there tackling these difficult fucking problems or I'd still be walking around believing in vampires!  No doubt he got a huge grant from the government to fund this research.

wow... waste of time.
If people want to believe there are vampires out there I'd say leave them alone.  Besides, they make great reading and watching material(vampires chronicles, the historian Buffy, Angel..etc.)
In many cases it is not everyone bitten turns into a vampire, and in the original lore it's the third bite that would turn you whereas more recently it's only if the vampires drinks the person, then the person drinks from the vampire and they turned.

....yes I like vampire stories, what else is new...

Vampires are real! It's all in control. They know that if they turn so many they're doomed. They only turn a few. Mostly they just drink and kill.
