Actresses That Produce Must-Watch Doramashttp://www.kawaii-joyuu.com/?p=4779 (http://www.kawaii-joyuu.com/?p=4779)
Japanese internet search engine and web portal "goo" released the results of another recent survey related to actresses. It was focused on all actresses that are younger than 30 only, but similar to the actor rankings they are probably going to put up another ranking for the older actresses very soon as well.
What actress can you recommend? The entertainment world brings out one new female celebrity after another. Most of them usually start out with roles in doramas and soon they become some of the most popular actresses in the country. It’s can be hard to keep track, so let’s separate the wheat from the chaff. "Younger than 30 year-old female celebrities that make you watch a dorama no matter what." The literal translations for those ranking titles can sometimes be really long…
On first place we have a young actresses who had her big breakthrough with the dorama "Crying out Love, in the Center of the World" and since then has steadily seen an increase in her popularity. Yes, Ayase Haruka topped yet another new ranking. So far she played many different roles and often revealed her natural and particular character on variety shows. Her costars like to describe her as a "natural airhead" which isn’t necessarily a bad trait in the eyes of many. As clumsy she is in real life, as professional she can be during filming.
Shibasaki Kou ranked int on second place. She often gets praised for her diversity that eventually resulted in a 2nd career as a singer. On February 6 her new movie "Rinco’s Restaurant" will open to the public and many people are looking forward to what kind of acting she is going to show them this time. It never gets boring watching her, that’s why she makes every dorama a must-watch.
Many will be glad to see that Nagasawa Masami is still up there in the top 3 as well, despite her bad choice of roles recently and no luck at the box office rankings either. Interest in her seems to be as high as ever, all she needs to do is to deliver. I’m looking forward to her projects in 2010.
Here now the full ranking:
01 – Ayase Haruka
02 – Shibasaki Kou
03 – Nagasawa Masami

Actress Ayase Haruka (24) made a new commercial for Glico's "Giant Cone" ice cream brand and gets to have some enjoyable moments with the sweet ice cream.
Ayase poses as an office lady who treats herself to some Giant Cone while relaxing at home in her dressing gown. A chanson like song is playing in the background with lyrics that could be translated as: "Sometimes I give myself a treat~ Moments I give myself a treat~ Today is one of those days~."
The same production team shot the previous commercial with Ayase and it's still consisting wholly of women – the director, the camerawoman, the art director, the stylist, all women. Together with Ayase they've created a commercial full of authentic women's eyes of happiness together with that entranced expression and innocent smile women get when eating some delicious and sweet ice cream.
The TV commercial will start airing on the 15th, but there will also be a special version available on the official site only. The special version will be out on the 10th and show 1 week in the life of Ayase the office lady.
Ayase, Okada, Tsutsumi star in "Princess Toyotomi"http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-6003 (http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-6003)
Haruka Ayase (25), Masaki Okada (20), and Shinichi Tsutsumi (45) will co-star in a new movie by television director Masayuki Suzuki, titled "Princess Toyotomi." The story is based on a novel of the same name by writer Manabu Makime.
Makime's previous works include "Kamogawa Horumo" and "Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi," which have both been given live-action adaptations. Suzuki was one of the directors involved in Fuji TV's 2008 drama series based on "Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi." Ayase also played a main character on that show.
"Princess Toyotomi" is described as a historical mystery, likened to the Dan Brown thriller "The Da Vinci Code." Blending fiction and historical fact, the novel was published last year and was nominated for the prestigious Naoki Prize.
Ayase, Okada, and Tsutsumi play three elite bureaucrats in the national Board of Audit. While reviewing the government's spending, they stumble upon a discrepancy in Osaka, leading them to unravel a secret that has been kept hidden for 400 years.
Filming starts in July. The movie is expected to be released during early summer 2011.

Aside from the officials and the special guest Ayase, Glico also invited the local primary school students to be the first children to enjoy the factory tour. Of course Ayase had enjoyed it just as much as the children and ate some freshly made PRETZ together with them. She commented, “It was so good. On November 21st, NHK began their promotions for the 2013 taiga drama ‘Yae no Sakura‘ with the release of the main poster featuring starring actress Ayase Haruka.
Ayase is disguising herself as the protagonist Niijima Yae, a female warrior that can be described as the Japanese Jeanne d’Arc during the closing days of the Tokugawa shogunate. In the poster she is holding a spencer rifle and is glancing into the camera with a serious expression. The tagline on the poster reads “I will bloom in this era“.
Yae is the daughter of her domain’s gunnery instructor and participated in the Boshin War disguised as a man. During the war she barricaded herself with 500 women in Tsuruga castle, Aizu. She prefers to fight with a spencer repeating rifle, a breech loading rifle that can be loaded with a seven tube magazine; and always carries around 100 bullets around her back in order to be prepared for the worst. For the poster they also added a kimono with a sakura pattern, but this was only used to emphasize the mixture of east and west and won’t be a part of the outfit in the drama itself.
During the Meiji era, Yae marries Niijima Jo or Joseph Hardy Neesima, who worked and taught Christianity as an educator and founded the Doshisha University as well as the Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts. The drama depicts her whole life from 1845 until 1932.
The supporting cast includes Odagiri Joe, Nishijima Hidetoshi, Hasegawa Hiroki, Tamayama Tetsuji, Kuroki Meisa, Gouriki Ayame, Oguri Shun, Sorimachi Takashi, and many more.
‘Yae no Sakura’ is scheduled to air its first of 50 episodes on January 6th, 2013.
Matsuyama Kenichi passes the Taiga drama baton to Ayase Haruka
(http://static.tokyohive.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/20121221_matsuyamaayase1.jpeg)
On December 20th, a “baton touch” ceremony between the current NHK Taiga drama star and upcoming Taiga drama star, was held at NHK Broadcasting Center. Matsuyama Kenichi who is starring in ongoing Taiga drama “Taira no Kiyomori“, and Ayase Haruka who will star in next Taiga drama “Yae no Sakura” attended the ceremony.
At the “passing the baton” ceremony, the stars usually exchange presents, so Matsuyama gave Kobe beef while Ayase gave “Okiagari-Koboshi”, a traditional doll from Aizu region of Fukushima prefecture. The “Okiagari-Koboshi” dolls were painted by Ayase herself, and she revealed, “I painted them yesterday, and it took a while until 3 o’clock in the morning, but I forgot to paint their hair.” Matsuyama answered happily, but repressing his laughter, “But, it is only one in the world.”
Matsuyama commented regarding the filming which took a year and 2 months, “At first, I was so nervous to be the lead actor of the Taiga drama that has a long history. I was too nervous, so it caused me to restrict the range of my acting. It took me a while to get out of there.” Then Ayase who just begin filming in September, agreed him with, “Yes. You get stiff when you are nervous. I was just wising that I could relax more, and enjoy the filming.”
As announced previously, the upcoming Taiga drama, “Yae no Sakura” will depict the life of Niijima Yae, the wife of Niijima Jo who is the founder of Doshisha University, who strongly lived through that turbulent period. The script was written by Yamamoto Mutsumi, who was also in charge of the script for NHK’s morning drama “Gegege no Nyobo.”
“Yae no Sakura” will begin airing starting on January 6th after “Taira no Kiyomori” that will air its final episode on December 23rd.
Ayase Haruka receives her 2nd ‘Valentine Queen Award’
On February 9th, actress Ayase Haruka received the ‘ORICON Valentine Queen Award 2013‘ at a public event in Tokyo. It’s her second Valentine Queen Award after first receiving one in 2011.
The award was the result of a recent survey ORICON STYLE had conducted in January. The website asked 3,000 women in their teens to their thirties on which other woman they’d like to give “Tomo-choco (friend chocolate)” on Valentine’s Day. It was split into the two categories “favorite actress” and “most admirable woman” and Ayase was able to come out on top for both of the categories.
She proudly received the trophy made of Pocky and commented, “It makes me happy to receive such strong support from women.”
At the event, Ayase talked about her past Valentine’s Day experiences. She said, “During my student days, my friends and I started making chocolate and exchanged it with each other. ‘Tomo-choco’ was popular even back then.” Further she explained that she would like to go and have the most delicious chocolate cake for her ideal Valentine’s Day date.
On a completely different note, Ayase was also asked about her latest obsession. The actress confessed, “I like to watch concerts on DVD while I’m in the bathtub and have a karaoke party all by myself.” She continued, “I’m quite an enthusiastic singer in the bathtub. It’s really intense and the singing helps to work off all the stress, but I’m worried that it might be a nuisance to my neighbors.”
Glico and the actress also revealed her personally decorated Pocky sticks. The theme for Ayase’s Pocky design is “wizard and the witch” and the unique design earned some laughs from the audience. She stated, “I’ve always wanted to become a witch and fly through the sky on a broom. I think they (the Pocky designs) look really cute.”

Sato Takeru & Ayase Haruka attend press conference for the completion of their starring movie
On April 23rd, Sato Takeru and Ayase Haruka attended the press conference held for the completion of their starring movie “Real~Kanzen naru Kubinagaryu no Hi~“(directed by Kurosawa Kiyoshi).
When Sato was asked about how he views Ayase, he started his answer saying, “Though she looks silly…” However, since that seemed to have shocked Ayase, he corrected himself, saying, “She seems to look like an easygoing person, but I view her as someone who actually thinks carefully.”
As this movie features a new medical technique in neurosurgery to communicate and enter the mind of a person who is in a coma, Sato was also asked whose mind he would want to enter. He answered “I would want to enter Nakatani-san’s (=Nakatani Miki). She looks like a person with no unguarded moment, but I’m sure she has desires as a human being.” Ayase, then agreed with him saying, “I would go for Nakatani-san as well. She is beautiful, and perfect, but is also unique when talking. I think the balance between the uniqueness and her deep kindness is interesting.”
Regarding their answers, Nakatani who also attended the press conference, said, “I’m not too sure if that’s a compliment or dispraise.”
“Real~Kanzen naru Kubinagaryu no Hi~” is set to open in theaters on June 1st.

It was announced that Ayase Haruka and Arashi have been chosen as the hosts for NHK's annual New Year's eve music show, Kohaku Uta Gassen.

At the press conference held on October 18th, Ayase who appeared in last year's Kohaku as a guest introducer for the artists' song, commented, "I am nervous. Arashi members also left comments.
Sakurai Sho said, "I would like to send out the songs from the position of being the host." Ohno Satoshi also added, "Until last year, our record was 2 wins, 1 defeat. I hope for the white team to win again, so that we could have a long lead against the red team."

We will give it all we've got.", to which Ayase responded, "You're quite obsessive about winning, aren't you?" It may be the first and last time for this 6 of us (with Ayase) to participate in Kohaku, so I would like to do our best."
When Matsumoto Jun was asked to give advice to Ayase, he humbly answered, "We're not good enough to give advice, but I hope for both red and while to unite efforts."
