According to Rika's Blog, Rika will play a detective in an upcoming drama. Nothing much is known yet.

Waaahhhh!

Now this is THE drama I'm anticipating...

I'm making assumptions right now as to what drama it could be (it's going to be a Spring drama, isn't it?)

A few drama titles have cropped up in the drama map at d-addicts. There's always a few mystery/detective drama titles every season.

It's still a bit early trying to figure out what drama though, since there are titles yet to be announced. But here are some early assumptions based on titles that have already been put up:

-Shinzanmono with Abe Hiroshi as lead.
Based on the popular novel by best-selling author Higashino Keigo, Kato Kyoichiro is a new detective who is assigned to solve the mystery case of a 40-year-old woman found murdered in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district.

-Zettai Reido with Aya Ueto as lead.
Sakuragi Izumi (Ueto Aya) is a new police sergeant with the Special Investigations Office, which was set up within the Metropolitan Police in November last year. The new investigation team uses DNA analysis and the latest in forensics science to investigate cold cases as well as cases suspected to involve missing persons.

Hope it's the one with Aya Ueto!  :w00t:

I can't wait. I am beyond excited for this! Ever since I've been a fan of Rika I've been advocating that she get a drama, just because while she does lots of things well, I think she really excels at acting. :D

...plus she looks super cute as a detective.

sounds like the one with Aya Ueto....investigating the pix, she's in the country side hmm.

WOW!! Who'd thunk Rika in some big budget TV drama. She's always been in one of those one-shot drama, made for TV movies.

It's great that we know the title... but then, my hope is kinda sinking. Is this something widely watched enough that it'll be subbed???

Coz I definitely want it subbed. Along with all her other plays and movies. Sucks that we won't be able to fully understand the stuff she's in.
