　本作では、ひょんなことから銀座のホステスのナンバー1を目指すことになる篤姫を演じる石川。自身も「モーニング娘。という女のグループにいたので、ナンバー1になりたいという気持ちはわかります」と理解を示す。しかし、ナンバー1になるために汚いことをするのではなく、正々堂々と戦う篤姫の姿勢には「モーニング娘。時代を思い出しましたね」と共感しているようだ。

　そんな彼女とナンバー1の座を争うライバル・アミ役を演じるのはモーニング娘。時代の同期メンバーであり、ライバルでもあった吉澤ひとみ。劇中では熱い火花を飛ばす二人だが、実際の関係について石川は「もちろんライバルなのかもしれませんが、よっすぃー（吉澤）とはケンカも一度もしたことがないし、いい距離感、いい関係を築けていますよ」と明かしている。

　石川がモーニング娘。に加入したのは15歳のとき。それ以来の付き合いとなるつんく♂と石川だが、劇中では、つんく♂が演じる、女好きの人気音楽プロデューサー“づんく”をホステスとなった篤姫が接客。「照れくさかったですよ」と石川が笑うと、つんく♂も「石川に接客してもらうなんてテンションを上げないとやれないわ」と同意する。

　しかし、女好きの人気音楽プロデューサー“づんく”のコミカルな登場シーンは本作のいいアクセントとなっており、なかなかの名演技（!?）だが、「まあ、あれは“づんく”さんであって、実際のつんく♂はああいう人ではないですからね。でも、別に（世間からは）あんなふうに見られてもええわ、とテンション上げていましたけどね」と笑いながら念を押すつんく♂だった。（取材・文：壬生智裕）
