On August 5, there was a report that revealed former Morning Musume member Ishikawa Rika's romance with a pro baseball pitcher for the Saitama Seibu Lions, Nogami Ryoma. After the report was released, Ishikawa admitted it on her official blog.

With the title "Announcement", she updated her blog that read, "I am sorry for surprising you guys with the sudden report. Since it was my first time, I am quite surprised too. As some reports say, I am in a relationship with Seibu Lions' Nogami Ryoma-san. I'm not sure what will happen in the future, but I hope you all to watch over us warmly. From here on, I will keep trying my best, so please continue to support me."

According to the report, the two began dating in the end of last year.
