Chapter 1

Kashiwagi Yuki had known to be an average student and passed with average grades but average was now beyond her control.  She heard her alarm ring as she rubbed her eyes before looking at the tri-folded piece of paper on the table.  If she hadn’t pinched herself into creating a permanent red mark on her cheek, she would have done it again.  Upon her graduation, she had been accepted to take an intern job at Kagoshima Paper Company as she oversaw the mass amount of workers.

Many saw her as a supporter of the company against the majority of the line workers who disliked the management.  Yukirin was surprised by the huge backlash but she had given them a promise to work hard to get them equal rights.  She had dug into the financials to find the disparity and turned to the president to ask him questions about the company.  The gentle man was a great listener to her concerns but it was known to her that the fear of being ousted had come to the horizon.

The board was having their meeting when she barged in standing up to the board, pouring out the concerns on the plant floor.  She had seen enough torture for the weary people when the head of the board stood and applauded her for the speech.  He was a tall, handsome man with firm cheekbones and a grin that would attract people to him.  He glanced to the people around him and gave a nod to help out the people and give them a modest raise over time.  However, she couldn’t convince them to keep the elderly man as they were concerned about the future but as a result, she was transferred over to Tokyo for a position.

The letter was the proof she needed to remove herself out of the crowd and stepped forward into the elite status.  The letter also gave her a place to stay for the time being.  She felt the cool air within the room surrounding her body as she walked over to the bathroom for her morning shower.  Yukirin couldn’t help but grin while she was in the shower.  She couldn’t allow herself to jump off the cloud that was shooting up like a rocket as she rushed through everything before coming to her closet.

“What shall I wear today?”  She hummed glancing at the ensembles she possessed.

Yukirin thumbed through the rotation twice before settling on a black blouse and skirt.  She felt empowered by her clothing after the meeting with the bosses and this was the ace that clinched her job.  Yukirin lightly placed makeup while glaring at the mirror, keeping in mind about understanding the environment before rolling her hair up into a bun and sticking a bamboo pick to hold it.

She slipped into the two-inch heels, grabbed the card key and purse before heading into the streets.  Yukirin could sense the city’s atmosphere as she walked down the streets with her balance swaying left and right as she approached the corner and glanced up at the building.  Yukirin smiled as all the arrangements were set up for her before the first day as she entered into the lobby where she saw a heavy-set woman place her hand up before the elevator.

“Is this your first time?”  She asked as Yukirin nodded towards her.

“Ah, you need a badge to get through.”  She smiled handing a card over to her as she showed the card before being allowed into the elevator area.  The place was surrounded by people as she tried to search for the elevator to take and surged into manage a place.  Yukirin pressed her arms together while keeping her eyes on any person near her.  As she glanced up, the floor light was slowly going up until it reached the 14th floor and she felt like a baby out of the mother’s womb.

“You must be Kashiwagi.”  The woman pointed at her.

“Yes…”

“I’m Oshima Yuko, the guide for today.”  She greeted the shorter woman with her brown hair in a ponytail.  “Our floor only has three rooms.  Each of them is meant for operations.”

Oshima led her to the first room, opening the door to the three women lined up to the right of them glaring at their computer screens.  The women turned and stood before bowing toward them.

“We are the loans department.”  The shortest of the three introduced the group’s name.  “This is Minegishi, Kojima, and I’m Takahashi, the supervisor of the group.”

“They take care of the borrowing against the funds that have been collected by the worker’s pensions.  It is a new department headed by our most experienced people.”  Oshima explained, closing the door behind her.  “I forgot to mention that Kojima is mine.”

Yukirin quickly rolled her eyes as they headed into the next room.  She quickly noted the area was quite dim when the lone person turned with dark circles under her eyes.  She stood to give a curt bow before turning back to her screen.

“She analyzes a lot with little expression.  Yokoyama rarely speaks but maybe she’ll be in a better mood…”

“I just spent a day looking over reports so I feel fine.”  She replied.

“I stand corrected.”  She closed the door before walking to the last room.

“This is where everyone else is in keeping the life of the company flowing throughout Japan.  This is the operations part in whole.”

Yukirin glanced around the room to the people running around as Yuko pointed her toward the space she was going to occupy with a computer and an empty lot to fill.  It was between two others as one came prancing back with papers.  Yukirin greeted her as she turned with her black hair in a ponytail.  “Ohayou~”

“Ohayou!  I’m Kashiwagi.”

“Sugoi!  I’m Watanabe Mayu.  I usually gather reports to hand out to other departments throughout the building.”  The woman greeted as another came in with a cart filled with cans of assorted drinks.

“You must be my neighbor, I’m Kuramochi Asuka.  Nice to meet you.”

After Yukirin greeted the two, they proceeded back to their jobs when she took a seat at her desk.  Oshima turned on the workstation and got everything started for her quickly with her impressive quick keystrokes.  Then, the normally noisy room had turned quiet.

Yukirin’s eyes grew wide as the silence had shocked her.  “What’s happening?”

Yuko shot up over the barrier and then quickly ducked back, keeping her eyes on the screen.  As the thing passed, Yuko pointed toward the computer directing her eyes away from her.

“That was the boss.  Must be careful to not make interactions unless asked.”  She warned when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Yukirin turned as her eyes grew wide.  Her mouth felt like a bear trap clamping on its prey.  She felt her heart beat quickly as a smile caught her by surprise.

“Long time no see, Yuki-chan.”

Chapter 2

Yukirin snapped her head toward the voice.  Yuko took two steps back toward the cubicle as the short-haired woman smiled as she ran her hand through her wavy hair.  Yukirin noted that she was still in her usual clothing from high school, the rolled-up sleeves, the slacks, and the t-shirt underneath.  It was familiar but the only thing was the scent coming from her.

“Sae-Oujisama, ohisashiburi.”  She breathed hiding her head under her hand.

“That has been a while that I’ve been greeted like that.”  She chuckled.  “I’m just Miyazawa-san most of the time.”

“What are you doing here?”  Yukirin asked keeping her eyes off from the woman.

“I’m checking on my workers.  Are you one of them?”

Yukirin nodded as she remembered the last time they had met which was a disaster in every way possible.  Sae was late, unapologetic, and tended to keep her attention on other girls except for her.  Yukirin swore that there was no way she would ever see her again.  Sae walked out of the room when Yuko came back to her computer.

“Miyazawa-san is the supervisor for our group.  However, she didn’t want to be your guide so I volunteered.  Although she has been here longer than I have.”  She explained.  “Did you guys have a fight or something like that?”

Yukirin curled her upper lip.  “We were actually going out at one point in time but she had been interested in other women.”

“I guess she will never change.”  Yuko shook her head as she finished up the set up.

Yukirin felt the same way after leaving during their date.  Sae was sweet but fickle towards her choices.  Yukirin was the observer in how Sae was being treated.  She was energetic most of the time, leading the cheers for all the sports and led the basketball team to a title but the other side of her wasn’t bright.  Yukirin thought it was nerves but it was the ability to speak to others that made her title.

Then, by chance, she had to see what would happen.  The date itself was beyond repair when she left the table, dropping the napkin onto the table.  Yukirin felt her heart break in two but it was because it wasn’t her and to prove it to others would be proved difficult.  Hearing Yuko, she knew it hadn’t changed and was now forced to work under her.

“Um… If you want me, don’t mind popping inside my office.”  Yuko waved as she went back as a list was generated for her to do.  “I forgot to mention that Miyazawa’s father is a chairman on the board so Sae is in good company.”

Yukirin nodded as she grabbed the stack on Asuka’s desk and thumbed through it.  Yukirin placed it by the names as it said on the list when a hand came in.

“Ah… I forgot to add that it goes to the companies.”  Mayu smacked her head as she grabbed the stack and took it to her desk.  “I’ll show you how it should be arranged.”

Mayu separated the piles like a dealer on a poker table giving each stack a company.  It was in three stacks in front of her and then noted another thing, crossing the other two stacks before looking back at the first stack.

“Now, the departments.  Each set has a number designated to it so place it like that and you’ll be done quickly.”  Mayu smiled before passing the stacks back to her.

As Yukirin was trying to process the information, Mayu sat at her desk looking up information requests by the other departments.  The woman was usually quiet for the most part but people would usually keep her out of conversations and they were disappointed about not taking her out drinking after her first day.  It wasn’t her fault that she was young, graduating from college a few years earlier than most her age.  She was indeed intelligent but she didn’t want to be bothered by being forced into the spotlight.  If Mayu earned, yes she would accept it but it wasn’t in her mind to boast.

“Watanabe, are you helping her?”  Yuko asked as Yukirin flashed an OK sign.

“You should invite her to drink with us.”  Yuko nudged her as Mayu knew her tolerance wasn’t the best.

“I’ll do that but I can’t drink a lot.”  She nervously laughed as Yukirin’s head shot up.  “After work, do you want to drink with us?”

“Sure!  Who else will be there?”  Yukirin wondered as Mayu counted the possible people.

“About six of us.”  She answered.

“That’s fine by me.”

Mayu went back when she felt Yuko pulling her away to her office and closed the door behind her.

“Sae may be after her.”  Yuko stated as Mayu nodded.

“Okay, that’s bad.”  Mayu nodded as Yuko came up to her.

“You need to go for her.  It isn’t for me but for many of us.  We can’t let her leave because of Sae.”  Yuko explained to the woman as she nodded.

Mayu understood the situation but never did try to get anyone.  She was not a person who did find anyone attractive or find interesting.  Mayu was usually nurtured in her world without any distractions until she got her job.  She thought Yuko had asked her to do an impossible tasked

“I don’t know what to do.”  She shrugged toward Yuko.

“Just try to get her to know you better and you guys can be alone.”  Yuko smiled.

“I can’t…”

Yuko pushed her out as Mayu returned back to her seat seeing the piles on her desk.  Yukirin stood over the piles and holding a firm smile as Mayu saw they were in order and confirmed it was correct.  Another set of papers was placed on her table with Mayu deep in thought when she turned to her.

“Where is your hometown?”  She asked as Yukirin turned her chair.

“Kagoshima.”  Yukirin answered.  Where are you from?”

“I’m from Saitama.”

“You look rather young.”  She smirked as Mayu lowered her head with the feelings coming back that usually comes with the issue of her age.  “Don’t feel bad.”

“I know I am.  Everyone usually says that so I’m used to it but I have a degree in System Analysis.”

“Sugoi!”  Yukirin applauded.  “That is quite an accomplishment.”

“Thanks!  I usually don’t get to say many things… but you’re pretty cute.”  Mayu felt her lips being glued after the last word escaped her mouth.

“EHHH!  Did you say something?  Because you must be kidding.”  Yukirin reacted as Mayu saw the finger pointed her.

“I think you are.  It must be heard by many people.”

“Except if they are cute themselves.”  Yukirin added when Mayu blushed at the kind words.

As they exchanged words, Mayu felt her stomach and grabbed Yukirin to the elevator.  Yukirin wasn’t sure why she would but then Mayu grabbed her midsection.

“Lunch?”

Mayu nodded.  “We have a full cafeteria and I think you’ll enjoy it.”

Chapter 3

Mayu took her up to the top floor where the people were talking at the tables with the trays going in and out of the kitchen as the two walked over to each of the stations, carefully glancing at the selections.

“It is based on tabs that they keep on us so we don’t have to worry.  At the end of the pay period, we get a bill to pay for our food.”  Mayu explained as Yukirin picked up a piece of strawberry shortcake.

“That looks delicious~ maybe I’ll get one too.”  Mayu responded grabbing one as they continued through the stations until arriving at the cashier.

“Nee~ Mayu-chan, who is this beauty?”  The elderly woman asked as Yukirin stepped up to introduce herself.

“Ah~ Have this on me.  You two are so cute together.”  She smiled as they went to the nearest table to consume their treat.

“Everybody comes here to eat and majority of the clients.  People tend to chat about everything here away from the executives.”  Mayu cut into her cake after her brief explanation placing the cake into her mouth.

Yukirin tasted the cake, filling her mouth with the tart flavor of the strawberry with the natural sweetness of the cream.  The cake was soft as she swallowed it whole while the rest followed as she was peacefully in thought.  She cut it quickly again for another bite of heaven.  Mayu placed her fork down as she began to let the lingering taste fill her mouth.

“Why here?”  Mayu thought as Yukirin placed her fork down as she was halfway through the cake.

“I was nominated here from my hometown after saving them from going down the wrong road.”  Yukirin smiled listing the accomplishment as Mayu toyed with her fork.

“That sounds awesome.  I usually was stuck in a room to study and then I had the most fun here being with Kuramochi and another person but she left before you came here.”  Mayu ate another piece as she took the last piece and shoveled it into her mouth.

“How was the person before me?  Was she cute?”  Yukirin joked as Mayu felt the piece go half way into her throat.  Mayu forced it down with a forced smile.

“You are actually quite attractive.  I imagined you had a few boyfriends.”  Mayu said as Yukirin lowered her head.

“I never had a boyfriend or really anyone I had feelings for.”  Yukirin placed the last piece into her mouth.  “Mayu would probably have lots if it wasn’t for school.”

Mayu nodded but Yukirin seemed to get into the truth of what Mayu wanted so much.  Her life was school and with the adventure of life seemed to open her up with the discussion.  Mayu had to thank Yuko that she got to know Yukirin at the end of the day but she felt her clammy hands as they were returning back to work.

“I’m ready for after work.”  Mayu spoke out her thoughts when she rubbed the woman’s head.

“You must be tolerant with alcohol.”  Yukirin joked as they returned back to their floor.

Mayu knew it wasn’t going to be easy but it was something she could acquire over time but she only tasted alcohol once.  It was a quick night after going through a taste test.  She awoke in a daze the next morning with Yuko sleeping next to her.  Compared to her, Mayu was building up her tolerance but that was a few months earlier and weren’t able to coordinate a time for an outing.

“Okay let’s finish this day!”  Mayu announced as Yukirin got into the stacks of paper to organize.

Yukirin peeked up after every stack she finished, seeing the time ticking by as the noise slowly died after the initial surge.  The workspace had become eerily quiet when Yuko did her rounds as Yukirin peeked up again.

“Are you doing okay?”

“I’m fine, thanks!”  She answered as Yuko walked to the first room.

“Nyan!”

“Not now!”  She replied as she passed the papers over to the Minamis.

“Aww.”  Yuko took her seat by the door as the three worked through their batches.

Yuko was not the normal supervisor of her department, she had exceeded the goals that were set, and most of the time her workers were responsive to her strict style.  She knew she was beyond the fresh crew but seasoned enough to handle the pressure especially their situation five years ago.

Oshima was a bright-eyed worker entering into the processing area with Sae as her co-worker.  Sae to her was a hard worker but had her moments that made her irate.  However, the process was outdated and the time she took to get items processed was long but was part of the norm.  She overhauled the system by developing programs to let the workers get every item through quicker.  Yuko was quick to be praised but the older workers were disgusted with her ideas.

Despite the backlash from them, Yuko gained her position quickly at the same rate Sae had become her supervisor.  There were many calls her way about the change but she had to accept it even if it was a bad decision when the truth came out and it was like wildfire through the workers that Sae had been privileged to gain such a position.  Yuko allowed herself to not be bothered especially after meeting Kojima at a private party.  It was perfect to get her mind off the situation.

“Yuko, are we going out drinking?”  Takahashi asked massaging the bridge of her nose.

“Yeah with the new worker.”

“I really need one after doing this.”  Takahashi groaned after packing the last of the stubs into the box and labeling it for the day.

“She must have Acchan at home all wrapped up in linen sheets.”  Minegishi added.

“It has to be cotton.”  Kojima nudged the short-haired woman.

“You two, shut up!”  Takahashi shot back as Oshima shook her head at the three.

“Acchan probably is cooking to think she’ll be home on time for once.”  Oshima stated when Takahashi took out her phone and walked into the hallway.  “Now Miichan how’s been your search?”

“Same.  No one will ever see me as a girlfriend after the incident.”  She sighed.

“It wasn’t that horrible… He didn’t know that you were going to do that.”  Kojima snickered as Minegishi punched her in the shoulder.  “Itai!”

“Miichan, don’t hurt her.”  Yuko knelt and rubbed her thigh.

“It’s not sore there!”

“It’s alright.  Yuko will make you feel better.”  She smiled as Miichan fell to the floor holding her midsection.

Yukirin peeked up after every stack “Miichan, don’t hurt her.”  Yuko knelt and rubbed her thigh.

“It’s not sore there!”

“It’s alright.  Yuko will make you feel better.”  She smiled as Miichan fell to the floor holding her midsection.

Haruna is complexed but drunk Yuko is worst

Yukirin placed the last stacks of paper to the side with Mayu tilting her head back, rubbing her eyes as both managed to take a glance at the clock.  Kuramochi raised her hands as she logged off her computer with the other two clocking out from work as the dreary workers escaped out when Yuko leisurely walked out.

“Come into my office, you three.”

The three shrugged as they walked into their boss’s office and closed the door behind them.  Yuko took her seat across of them as she flashed a smile.

“I was wondering if you guys were hungry because we wanted to go yakiniku.”  Yuko hinted toward them as the three nodded before Yuko took them back out where the four were standing with their arms crossed.

“Yakiniku!”  Yuko shouted as the group left in high spirits.

Yukirin and Mayu stood behind the crowd as they headed to the local spot when she felt her hand being touched.  Her head snapped toward her hand and noticed the distance between them.

“Is something wrong?”  Yukirin tilted her head.

“Nothing… just I felt something.”  Mayu explained when she felt the hand again and saw it in hers.

“Like this?”

Mayu nodded as the group turned into establishment where a table had been set for eight patrons.  Yuko and Takamina took to the ends as Yui, Miichan and Haruna took one side as the other side had the department as Yukirin kept the soft hand of the youngest worker in her hand.

“Haruna~ why are you sitting away from me?”  Yuko shouted as she smiled.

“Drunk Yuko is worst than sober Yuko.”  She shouted back as the waitress came in for their order.

“Queen’s plate!”  She ordered as the two towers of beers came and was placed on either side of the table.  Mayu was quick to grab one glass and filled it up for her side with the last one halfway filled as she placed in front of her.  Mayu sipped hers before everyone could manage to glance at her.  Yukirin saw her glass and filled it up to the top as they each raised their glasses for a cheer.

“Kompai!”  Yuko roared as the rest cheered when Mayu sipped again knowing that it would be trouble if she managed to finish it.  She turned to Yukirin as her head felt heavy and leaned towards her.  The waitress heated up the grill as Mayu straightened up with the platter on the table.  The marbled meat caught the eyes of the table and she started to grease up the girl with the fat before laying the meat onto the hot grill.

“Nyan!”  Yuko yelled as she scooted closer to her girlfriend.

Yui was alone with her beer as the two Minamis were in the corner laughing leaving the three on their side as Kuramochi looked at her phone.  She consumed her drink quickly as she moved her thumbs as Mayu was struggling to keep her balance watching the meat.  She flipped one over while leaning toward Yukirin, who was moving the other pieces of meat.

“Mayu, are you okay?”  Yukirin asked as Mayu showed her blushed face toward her co-worker.

“I’m fine…  I can handle my alcohol.”  Mayu swayed as Yukirin saw the two on the ground across of them.

“I see.  Kuramochi-san, can you break up the two?”  She pointed up as the elder woman of the group walked over to stop the free display of affection with the other two talking up a storm.  Yui took the spot on the other side of Mayu and held a smile.

“Is this Yuko’s making?”

“She’s trying to avoid Sae from taking Yukirin.”  Mayu mumbled as she took another sip.

“Ahh, that’s normal.  Sae has a girlfriend though…”  Yui gulped her drink as she looked over to Yukirin.  “Are you curious?”

“How much more alcohol…?”  Mayu groaned as she flipped the meat before placing it onto the plate.

Yukirin turned her concentration over to the other burner as the meats were becoming toasted quickly as the rest soon helped out when the black smoke caught their eyes.  The group instantly jumped on to save their meal as they placed whatever cooked meat to the side before eating.  Mayu gulped the last of her beer and slouched to the side, seeing the meat and placing one in her mouth.  Chewing it slowly, she straightened up again getting the glass of water and washing down the meat.

“Mayu is so red.”  Yuko commented.

“Let me take her home.”  Yukirin picked her up and fed her another piece.

“I’ll be okay until the end.”  Mayu forced a smile as she consumed her meat while the rest were trying to cook her meat despite the alcohol taking its effect.  Yukirin kept her eyes for out for her as she continued to sway but was keeping her balance until Yuko was draped over her girlfriend.  The rest were quick to pay off the bill and Mayu had climbed onto Yukirin’s back as Yui followed them home.

“Well, that’s the crazy part about them.”  Yui chuckled looking up at the dark sky.

“If you don’t mind me asking… What is it about you being quiet?”  She asked as Yui grinned.

“I listen to people so it is better to be quiet but it isn’t easy to stay quiet.”  Yui explained.

“Girlfriend?”

“A friend that I’m close with but she is quite awful when it comes to outings because it is I’m tired or she’s tired.  Then, she pulls her trick of being unmotivated when she is tired.  I hate that the most because she is quite driven when she isn’t tired.”

“You seem tolerant…”  Yukirin replied with Yui’s scoff.

“Well I’m kind of pent up right now so I’m going this way.”  Yui pointed before seeing the two off to the hotel.

Yui took out her phone and placed a call.  She stared at the phone for a bit before she heard a ringing.

“Moshi moshi.”

“Yuko thinks you’re after Yukirin.”

“That’s fine.  I respect her decision although the company wants me to marry a competitor’s son.”  She explained as Yui sighed.

“To be honest, I wouldn’t be in this position if I wasn’t saving you.”  Yui scoffed.

“You are just weird because you are the other woman.”  Sae responded.

“No matter what… I’ll be visiting.”

Yui hung up as she saw the gate and opened it with the code as she saw Sae in the front with a t-shirt and pants. Yui ran up wrapping her arms around the woman as she felt the warmth from her.  Sae cradled her head, feeling the soft lips of her partner as they struggled back to her house.

Chapter 5

“Yukirin~ thanks for taking me home… Do you know where I live?”  Mayu thought as Yukirin dropped her off on the bed.

“I brought you to my hotel room.”  She replied as her hair came down from the bun as Mayu sat up.

“I’m sorry…”  She bowed when Yukirin grabbed her hand.

“Stay here for the night.  It isn’t horrible but you look pretty bad.”  Yukirin jumped on the bed with Mayu resting her head on her lap.

Mayu could feel the fingers of the older woman ran through her hair.  It was the first time she felt comfortable with another person.  The fear became respect within her heart as she grabbed the clothing and snuggled up to it.  Yukirin felt her body growing weak feeling her partner’s breath against her midsection.  Even if she was adorable, she couldn’t start being a committed person but to care for a drunken colleague was soothing for her.

“The thing is… I was usually picked on in school.”  Mayu breathed, poking at the midsection.

“You shouldn’t be bullied for anything.”

“I know but I like anime and would usually read it leisurely when I wasn’t studying but mostly women were teasing me about my body.”  She explained as Yukirin brushed through her hair again.

“I really hated that.”

“I wanted to let my frustrations out but I saw them one day at the market with their babies and I wanted to laugh but I kept it inside.”  Mayu smiled as she stood up to head toward the bathroom.

Yukirin could understand the pain about school as she wasn’t the usual petite one but people grew jealous once she went through puberty.  She was approached by many boys but declined for many reasons.  Then, many people were verbally malicious towards her which hurt her.  Yukirin had days where she would go to school to ignore such things before breaking down in the corner.  In the end, she had developed enough of a thick skin to not let it bother her.  She wanted to ensure that no one would have the same pain in high school.

“Mayu!  What are you doing?!?!”  Yukirin shouted as she saw her in matching blue undergarments.

“I can’t sleep with my clothes on.”  She explained as Yukirin covered her eyes.

“I didn’t expect you to be walking around like that.”

“Gomen.”  Mayu smiled as she slipped into the bed.  “Oyasumi~”

Yukirin wanted to pull out her hair that Mayu would walk over her authority but she was beyond her normal self with the alcohol and she shrugged her shoulders as she went into the bathroom to change into her pajamas.  She glanced at her phone and set her alarm half an hour earlier than usual before turning off the lights in the room and slipping into her bed.  She was assured that if the alcohol wore off quickly, it would be a peaceful night.

Yukirin finally got her eyes closed when she felt a hand on her face.  She shook it off before it landed on her chest.  She felt the hand curl to the shape as the elder woman heard a giggle.  Yukirin turned her body away to avoid the distraction and slept through it until she felt the warm body on her back.  Mayu’s hand was on her midsection as Yukirin peeled it off when the warm breath caught her.

“Yukirin… would you want to be your first girlfriend?”  She breathed before turning back the other way.

“Huh!?”  The elder woman turned back around as Mayu let out a snore before she shook it off to sleep after her first night of work.

“Tadaima!”

“Okaeri.”  The woman with shoulder-length black hair welcomed her girlfriend with a bowl of katsudon and side dishes.

“How was your day?”  Takamina asked breaking her chop sticks as she grabbed the bowl and placed it in front of her.

“The usual… Just sitting around but I did some cleaning.”

“I see.”  She took the first bite and tolerated the freshness of the dish.  “How about work?”

Takamina cared about her a lot but job prospects for her was on the low side after declining college for an immediate opportunity at factory.  Her love of food brought her to the factory as a taste tester and learning the art of tasting chocolate.  She quickly rose through the ranks before being laid off months earlier and was left with her time at home watching dramas.

“I like watching my dramas.”  She held a smug look.

“We need money to stay here…  Please help me out.”  Takamina pleaded as Acchan sighed toward her.

“I’ll go find a job but I can’t do anything strenuous.”

Takamina rolled her eyes when an ad caught her eye.  She pointed it out to her partner and Acchan smirked at it as she took it to the living room.  The elder woman continued her meal in peace with little distraction and threw her dishes into the sink to let it soak before heading into the bathroom.  The place was filled with steam as she undressed for the shower.

“Shall we take a bath together?”  The voice asked as Takamina spun and grabbed the towel rack, holding her weight with her arm.

“Don’t scare me like that!”

“You’re cute when you get freaked out.”  Acchan commented as Takamina started with the shower.

She stood alone under the hot water as usual to wash off the day.  Takamina disliked being with others in bathing as she grew conscious with her body.  She didn’t mind sneaking a look but that brought more anxiety to her as she quickly cleaned up and wrapped the towel around her body before stepping into the tub.  Acchan walked in as Takamina slowly closed her eyes.

“How are Kojima and Minegishi?”

“They are doing fine.  Surely, they wonder if you can find a job.”

“At least they ask.”  Acchan chuckled as she walked out and stepped into the bath.  “You should lose the towel.”

“You know how I am with my body…”

“Sigh, I know they aren’t huge but at least they should be seen.”  Acchan stated as the midget took off the towel and threw to the ground.

“Is this okay?”

Acchan swam to the other end, cradling the face of her partner.  She moved in for a kiss feeling the possessions under her body.  Takamina wrapped her arms around her petite body before Acchan broke the kiss and poking at her head.

“Baka!”  She pouted.

“What was that for?”  Takamina asked.

“Because I’m in love with a baka.”  She smiled before taking the other side of the bath.

Chapter 6

“This is soft.  It feels like a pillow…  It’s warm too…”

Mayu poked at it as her head bounced off the bed as she saw Yukirin sitting up.

“What are you doing here?”  Mayu asked rubbing her eyes as she felt the slight chill and wrapped her body with the blanket.  “Wait… Why I’m in a hotel room?”

Yukirin tilted her head as Mayu went into a panic in her mind before she grabbed her forehead immediately.  The room slowly swirled in her mind with the light burning her eyes as she dove into the bed.  Mayu rolled off as she noticed her dressing.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were taking me to your room?”  Mayu asked as she tried to cover up her body with her hands.

“I would have taken you home but you were sleeping most of the way so I just let you stay here.  Then, you dressed down to your underwear and then slept.”  She explained with the hand gestures and her elevated voice.

“Gomen…  Tell Yuko I’ll be late.”  Mayu grabbed her clothes when Yukirin showed her a text message.

“Would you mind if I borrow your clothes?”  Mayu smiled as Yukirin pointed toward the closet where she grabbed a blouse and a skirt from the rack before heading into the bathroom.  The women remembered the alarm and heard the ring immediately as she heard a knock at the door.  She walked over to see a tray of food on a cart and brought it in.  She opened the dish with a bowl of fruit and a plate with two scoops of rice, a fluffy pile of scrambled eggs, and two pieces of crispy pork fat.  Yukirin left the bowl of fruit aside and dug through the plate of rice and meat to take a few bites before Mayu popped out with her clothes.

“I’ll pay you back.”  She bowed when a sound caught the elder woman’s attention.

She turned to see a small rip on the right hip.  Mayu bit down and bowed at a slight angle to prevent it from ripping more.  Yukirin sighed as she pointed toward the breakfast before entering the bathroom for a morning shower.  The question began to linger in her mind about Mayu.  Was the alcohol to blame or was Mayu truthfully asking is what had entered the mind.

“Maybe it could be worth my time to see how Mayu would react?”  She thought as she entered the shower.

Mayu picked up the food stuffed it into her mouth without thinking and saw the empty plate in front of her.  She peered down and wondered about the clothing with Yukirin still in the shower.  She ran over to the door and placed her fist on the door.

The door opened as she grabbed the knob and peeked inside.  “I ate everything.”

“That’s fine.  I’ll get something later.”  She replied as Mayu closed the door.

Mayu’s head was still in a daze as she placed her head on pillow when Yukirin came out of the bathroom with her hair wrapped up in a white towel and her slender body covered with the towel.  She admired the beauty that came out when she remember a thought from last night.  Her heart had stopped for a moment as she turned over in the bed and her weight went with it feeling the ground under her.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”  Mayu replied sweeping off the dust from the carpet.

“I wanted to know… if you were serious…”  Yukirin breathed as Mayu jogged up to her.

“Did you say something?”

“It’s nothing.”  Yukirin laughed as she saw the skirt wasn’t going to hold her hips within the material.  “Maybe you should change into the pants.”

Mayu grabbed the pants as she went into the bathroom to change.  She saw the damage and saw the redness in her face as she noted the length was long.  She rolled up the pant leg to get it right above her ankle when she came out and the red-faced Yukirin showed how Mayu’s hips were beyond containment.

“Let’s go to work.”  Yukirin suggested as the two left the room.

Yui was the first to greet the two as she entered into her isolated room.  To her, Sae was a pawn of her father.  She didn’t care how things were going to go or really caring to go far.  She was great at what she does but underestimated by the others as she rarely left unless it was lunch or bathroom break.  There were many things that she wanted to improve but kept quiet as she slowly worked through the list of items she had to go through.

Yui turned when her phone rang with the familiar number popping up.  “Good morning.”

“Yuihan… can we speak at the conference room in about an hour?”  Sae asked as Yui glanced at her to do list.

“What do you want to talk about?”

“I’ve been thinking of hiring another person.  She has some personal experience in your field and it could be great to have a partner.”

“Let me think about it.”  Yui sighed before hanging up the phone.

Yui didn’t mind the assistance but the question came into her mind about her relationship with Sae.  She acknowledged she was the person that Sae was cheating with but it was a thrill to consider the repercussions of the relationship.  However, it was assuring that Sae was in a worst position despite their undercover relationship.

“Ohayou!”  The voice sounded as Yui walked up to the door to the boss bent over with a smirk.

“Ohayou, Oshima-san.”  Yui said with a smile as the elder woman walked to the next room.

Yui returned to her desk glancing at the list and then the computer clock.  She brought up the calendar and set a meeting time in forty-five minutes as she brought up the transactions that were coming through.  As usual, she would find one that was sketchy and reject it.  The job was great for her keen eyes and dormant personality when the reminder came up.  She grabbed her notepad and pen to head to the room a floor above her.  She opened the door to Sae sitting behind a mahogany table and a chair was beside her and across of her.

“Come sit down.”  Sae said happily as Yui sat and gave her a peck on the cheek.

“I’ll make the decision on the hiring.”  Yui informed her boss as Sae gave a nod as the door opened.

The shoulder-length, black hair caught the two interviewers.  She smiled toward them as the two stood and bowed toward the two.  Yui caught the glance of her up close and bowed deeper than before.  She grabbed the resume from her right and saw the name.

“Ohayou!  I’m Kitahara Rie.  It’s nice to meet both of you.”  She greeted the two as Sae took her seat as Yui kept her head away.

“Welcome.”  Sae replied as Yui felt her neck was locked in place.

“Senpai… I didn’t know you were coming here for an interview.”  She breathed as Sae turned back and read through the resume.

“It’s true that both of us went to the same college.”  Rie responded as Sae smiled.

“Yokoyama-san, are you going to offer her the job?”

“She has the job.”  Yui nodded as the younger woman left the room keeping her eyes away from her.
