Mao Inoue stars in "My Darling is a Foreigner"
Thu, August 27, 2009 (3:36am EDT)
Actress Mao Inoue (22) is teaming up with actor Jonathan Sherr (35) for a movie adaptation of the manga series "Darling wa Gaikokujin" ("My Darling is a Foreigner").

The original comics, written by mangaka Saori Oguri (42), depict her experiences throughout her relationship with her husband, American journalist Tony Laszlo (48). The manga began publication in 2002 and has sold more than 2 million copies of its four volumes released so far. The latest one, which covered the birth of their son, was published last year.

Filming is already in progress. The official website has opened, though few details are available. Theatrical release is set for spring 2010.

Inoue Mao’s new gilato commercial

Starting in April actress Inoue Mao (23) is going to appear in a new commercial for Glico's gelato ice brand "Ice no Mi" (Iced Fruit).

The TV commercial with the title "Get on the Bus" features Inoue dancing along the sidewalk next to a bus with 24 other women. She's wearing a springlike outfit with vibrant colors such as yellow and pink. The dance itself has a very unique and difficult choreography to express her excitement when eating the ice. It was choreographed by MIKIKO who produced the majority of the dances of electro-pop-idol group Perfume. Apparently Inoue mastered the dance in just one hour of practice right before the filming and MIKIKO even praised it to be perfect.

We will be able to see the result of her short lesson starting on April 01.
