No, but I think it's safe to say Sakura, Paruru, Yui, Sayanee, Milky, and Jurina are included. At least, so far. ^_^"

I kinda liked them basically fighting more though. Wonder if adding guns n swords might be a bad thing... jp tv doesn't really do them that well.  :roll:
Or it could bring some freshness to the show.instead of one-on-one, it could bring group fights and tactics. :)
But whatever, I'm still gonna follow it all like crazy anyways. :panic:

AKB48 TV series Majisuka Gakuen 5 (マジすか学園5) will be aired at 24 August 2015, the episode 1 and episode 2 will be aired on NTV. Total 10 episodes will be available on online video content provider "Hulu".

But to be more precise. The first 2 episodes will be airing back-to-back on Nippon TV on Monday 24th Aug.
1st episode starting at ~24:59 (so it's actually Tuesday 1am).
2nd episode starting at ~25:29 (1:30am)

After both ep1-2 have aired on Nippon TV. Hulu will have ep1 to ep3 available.

Then on 1st Sept onwards, ep4 to ep10 will be added after each week. Available on Hulu only.

All this info is found on the 5th pic in my post above. In the bottom-left corner.

Trying to figure out Yabakune's character names, with the scans above. Cos its always fun~
So after 5 hours of researching and translating... (probably incorrectly!) :sweatdrop:

Taniguchi Megu - ヘッド (Head)
Simple enough. She's the boss of Yabakune now. So her character got upgraded from simply Megu to "Head" as the new leader of Yabakune. 8)

Nagao Mariya - ゲッコウ (Gekko)
She doesn't know where it came from, but she thinks it sounds cool.
Oh, Mariyagi is wearing Shibuya's jacket. And Tomochin knows.
{Mariyagi impersonating Tomochin}: "Mari-chan is going to wear it? I'm so happy!". :D
Mariyagi also pointed out in MG2 she was the only KKS in Tomochin's group, while this time she'll be the oldest.

Tano Yuka - アモン (Amon)
From her (and Umechan) getting double cast by producer Miyamoto Amon to act as the main character Dorothy in the musical "Wiz".
Yeah, Tano probably has the most acting chops in the group.

Furuhata Nao - スネーク (Snake). MG4 character name was ディーバ (Diva)
[insert your favourite Metal Gear joke here]
MG4. Weird that she was such a weak character with a name like Diva. Anyways, found out she probably got Diva because she won the 3rd karaoke singing contest on AKBINGO!
MG5. Nao doesn't know where "Snake" comes from either. She just thought how snakes wrap themselves around things easily. (that sounded surprisingly sexy...) :roll:
And that she likes reptiles. :P
Nao did do AKB49, so maybe they'll give her an interesting role and the name might actually have some significance. Or maybe it just sounds cool too.

Mutou Tomu - カイブン (Kaibun). MG4 character name was ツン (Tsun)
For MG4. I wrote this somewhere else, so I'll just copy/paste.
Tomu's "Tsun" name is probably from her 'Tsun' chara. Ya'know. Like 'tsun-tsun'. or the 'tsun' in tsundere.
Like in 141201 Ariyoshi AKB Kyowakoku. When she talked about her wearing high heels at a fan meet. And the fans started requesting her to step on their shoe in the 2-shot.

For MG5. Tomu's new name Kaibun is from the sound of 回文 (for words read the same when reversed). As Mutou Tomu's name is a Palindrome.
Personally I liked Tsun more. She should've kept it~ :oops:

Sadly can't read the last 2 that well.

Kawamoto Saya - ルーキー (Rookie)
I'm guessing its due to Kawamoto debuting as a Draft member, and quickly turning into a talented golden rookie in AKB.

Murayama Yuiri - キャンディー (Candy). MG4 character name was ドクリンゴ (Dokuringo = poison apple)
Yuiri's MG4 name Dokuringo came from her nickname "Yuiringo".
Candy, I dunno. But she does say when recording she went through 6 of em (I'm guessing lolipops). With 4 being the same tropical fruit flavor. :sweatdrop:

Jonishi Kei - デメキン (Demekin)
Pop-eyed goldfish. She even has her hair back to look more goldfishy.

Yoshida Akari - レッド (Red)
She has a little red in her hair and costume... Oh yeah. Akari. Aka = red.

The story and drama got boosted way up didn't it. :panic:
NOBODY IS SAFE~~  :sweatdrop:

I personally don't like this new direction that much. It doesn't seem as fun as previous seasons, which I think is important for an idol drama.
But there was a need to change up the formula. vs fights every week was starting to get boring.
Funny thing is, if this was a sequel to MG3 I would've totally believed it. XD

Anyways, its just started. Keep watching and see how it goes. :)

I haven't even seen the 3 first episodes yet but I already know the *major events* that occur in these eps.
Hopefully it won't get too dark... Can't wait for it to get subtitled

Well, yes, it was good.

It's just very, very, VERY intense this time. It's more like a serial drama now, no room for comedy, as winner-san mentioned.

I just skimmed thru some the non-subbed episodes. (1 and 2).  Disappointing. I can handle something dark and gritty, but this is dreary and dull. Maybe I'll watch it before going to bed, but probably not.

Kind of had a lot of those same thoughts, having fights all the time does get a bit tiring but including a bit of humor even if it's dark hearted is important. Still it's only one out of 12 episodes but though a bit more violent than usual it was still an okay watch, plenty of time to tweak things here and there.... screenshots from the opening credits.

Have watched ep 1 and 2- obviously some new characters will get a chance to show their acting skills, so
that is one benefit of having some main characters leaving the show early.

Agree that the direction of the show has moved into dark territory, and it's the introduction of guns into
the show that has drastically changed the possibilities. After all, the consequences of a fist fight are scrapes,
bruises, maybe some crutches.
Consequences of guns are funerals.
Will still follow this drama, but have some reservations about its direction.

So Miyu was in ep01 (near the beginning, she was one of the 3 girls challenging the stairs)
No wonder didn't notice her, they didn't show her face at all... like why have akb members guest, and not show their face. Wasted chance... ;)

Love that Katsuzetsu intro! :D

I've always liked how this series pushes non-forefront AKB48 members. But this season hasn't been as effective since most of the cast is carried over from MG4.
I hope the new charas like Haruppi and the Yabakune girls will get a break, and be more recognized by fans now. :)

Time to man up for ep6. looks like it'll drop some heavy stuff.
Just saying. An Akame ga Kill-like "Death Wheel" for MG5 would be really helpful around now. :nervous

1. Go to AIDOL's website: http://myaidol.net/

2. Visit it every day and wait till they sub more.

Note they are fansubbers. Not people getting paid by AKB to sub them. So wait patiently like everyone else. :)
You can also try learning more japanese, so you can follow it even without subs.

^That's all for Center. She didn't get into any of the real action.
But at least she gets to do more than Nezumi/Black etc. who only show up for 2-3 seconds. ;)

^^ Center is still the only thing I liked about MJSK5, to me, honestly.

......OK, truth is, due to school, I gradually lost track of it and ended up stopping... and then I got spoiled, so.......

That was not a satisfying show, although some of the scenes were really well done.

The banquet scene was way too much sad to watch....

Good experience for the acting credentials of many of the girls, so there's that.

Yeah. The style of this season was way different from previous ones. With such an intense change, it really gets a lot of polar feelings of love and hate from viewers.
MG5 just wasn't that entertaining for me. I prefer the classic comic book vs fight of the week formula more, even though it was so basic. It was simpler and much more fun to watch schoolgirls fight and butting heads. They also put way more time in shaping out fun characters. Putting guys and yakuza into a totally muddled plot just made everything slow and boring. It totally fails in pushing members making them more recognizable to fans and general viewers. Something that all previous MG seasons have done well (with Rena's Gekikara literally being one of the most loved and iconic things in all MG and AKB48).
The only thing I really liked was the further development of Otabe's character.
But like muppet says, at least the girls got some real drama acting experience from it.

Anyways, there's still the HKT spinoff prequel SP on 29 Nov to wrap it all up. Hope Katsuzetsu breaks a few skulls. :heart:

And with MG4 kinda being a retelling of MG1, and MG5 being a totally different show like MG3, wonder what they'll do for MG6. :)
