Aju Makita san won a slew of awards for her role in “True Mothers”, including  44th Japan Academy Film Prize for Best Newcomer.

It was actually Best Supporting Actress. She was awarded Best Newcomer for another earlier movie she did. If anyone can share where to watch her earlier movies, that would be great.

This is a story of a 12-year-old girl, Kanna, born as a descendant of the Gods. Her family has a mission to deliver offerings from all over Japan to the Gods’ gathering in Izumo.
