Okay, so not a big fan of Risako's voice (she's cute, though!), but she really started out awesomely in the Berryz concert!! Usually by the third or fourth song, she's completely straining her voice already, but I don't know if she just has better stamina now, it was the songs, or what, but Koi no Jubaku was listenable for once during a concert. I still think she needs some vocal training on how to use her voice properly during lives and even recordings and whatever, though!

Yep Siiko seems to be gaining weight. She's still young and she's a growing kid. Putting on a little weight isn't bad. She'll be able to shed it off eventually.
In one of the pics posted before she kinda resembled Aibon and in the screencap Ayabie posted above she reminds me of Ayaka. She's going to be quite a looker in a few more years.
Risako as the next Ayaya is quite possible but who would be the next Miki for GAM mk. II? I hope it would be Miyabi. Risako and her look so good together in the dokyus. :)

I think they're actually grooming Miya to be the next Ayaya (in the term of H!P top singer soloist, not as an idol). Risako might get Meccha Holiday in this album, but Miya got to sing Matsuu songs solo twice and always got her lines. As for Risako, I still can't see which way she's heading to. But she's very young, we'll have to wait for a while, I think.

I would never compare Risako to Ayaya, because their vocals and voices are from two different worlds, and Ayaya has a talkative idol personality, whereas Risako is goofy, quiet type. They're completely different, so pushing Risako towards an Ayaya direction would be mindless, imo... I prefer Risako over Ayaya, anyway :P

One thing about Risako I've been noticing but it just comes clear in this HPH. Her eyes. It's like she never focused. She looked left and right and wherever the whole time. Not just in this but in concerts, too, with in a lesser extent coz there's audience. She needs an acting trainer, methinks.

Yeah she seems to have a problem with focusing. I saw a clip in youtube where it took her 6 takes (not sure) to perfect her dialogue in the dokyu and in the drama where she starred when she was younger. But it's probably one her traits that made me like her.
In the making videos of Special Generation and Nanchuu, there were some moments where she had her serious face on then she'd suddenly smile at the camera. Knocks me off my feet everytime. :P

Singing in front of soloist like Goto and Matsuura would scare the hell out of anyone! Especially for a kid like her.
So, I really felt for her when she had to sing solo that time. Besides, she's so used to singing in a group that it could very well be nerve-wracking to just do that one song

I thought I saw that too, in the "Pro Yakyuu in Yokohama Berryz Koubou (2006.08.23)" clip I downloaded yesterday. Her teeth looked more even than before. I liked her well enough before, but with straight teeth she looks even prettier imo. :)

She's the youngest H!P girl to ever get a photobook right? It may be too early and she may be too young but we can't do anything about it. I have mixed emotions regarding H!P kids getting PBs but eventually, it had to happen sooner or later. I 've seen Berryz PBs and those PBs were absolutely adorable. I just didn't expect Risako to get her solo PB this early. I don't expect to see bikini shots but I do hope to see more Siiko-cuteness in this PB.

Yikes. Well, the photographer, Kouki Nishida, is IMO hands down the best h!p pb photographer. As well as those you mentioned, he's done Aichan's Wataame, Rika's Hana-bi and Maki's "Maki" and Dear.
Of course, he's done a boatload of gravure and all those h!p pb's had swimsuit stuff too, so I'm kinda afraid of this one as well. :/

In her HPH solo, I really think she chose the wrong type of song... She sounded shakey on a lot of the parts. I think she fits moreso with more upbeat songs than Ayaya ballads :o

And her voice was shaky on HPH, and also I've noticed her voice isn't as good as it used to be IMO. I thought she had the best voice since Anata Nashi even though it was still developing. There are times when her voice sounds sooo nice. But lately maybe her voice is chaging? I guess she's at the age for it.

That was way too cute.Risako-chan was so cute in that video,specially when she was just sort of staring into the void after she fed the horses for the second time and was being shaken by Miyabi-chan.

Yeah, she's improved a lot but she's still having with problems with focusing like in HPH (she was shaky at the start but her performance was quite good, not that I'm biased :P)
She's still young and there's still a big room for improvement. :)

I went to some Japanese online retailers and they are starting to run out of stock. Already preordered mine from Yesasia. I probably won't be opening the plastic packaging and wait until someone scans in all the images so we can download them.

There was also the rumor of Niigaki's father being someone important.... I don't think either of those are true.
About Risako being half canadian, I heard that it was a grandparent that was canadian (which would make her 4th) and that she only heard about it recently. That is an interesting rumor though. Her hair is kind of light toned, and it was also light way back when she auditioned to be an HP kid. But then there are pictures of her with her hair darker... Well there are some asian parents that dye their kids hair when they are seven but not very many.
Personally I knew two girls growing up who were asian but had strangly light hair. Then when we were older they both found out they had western blood in their families.

From her baby pics in HPH, it was always a light brown color. Most babies that I seen from Japanese couples have black hair. Whether she is full Japanese or 3/4 Japanese, Risako is still cute.

I got this idea while reading an article about british historian David Irving(who is now in jail because of his revisionist agenda,or rather,because he entered a country he was barred from entering because he was accused of denying the Jewish holocaust) and how there were rumours about his alleged Jewish ancestry.The author of said article said he had been to the national archives,or something similar,looked up his profile and managed to disprove those claims.
I think something similar could be done with Risako-chan.I don't know about hiring a private detective,because I don't have much cash at the moment,but it's a thought,nonetheless.

Well one of the things I like about her is that her heritage is a mystery. For example, her light hair color is something to wonder about. But I don't particularly want to solve that mystery. Its too bad there isn't a longer verision of the HPH song. I think its called "Hajimete Kuchibiru wo Kasaneta Yoru". It was originally on Ayayas first album. But I thought Risako did a better job :D Especially if she had had a chance to record it I think it would sound reeeaally good. She doesn't seem to do as good live.
And (I hope my post doesn't get deleted b/c of this) Ishikawa Minoru, you are free to have your own personal fantasies but you can't force other people to listen to them if they don't want to. You can't MAKE people agree with your ideas, it just doesn't work even if you try to. If you want to write a fanfic, go ahead, and people will read it if they want to and they wont if they don't. But a message board is a way of public discussion so even if you aren't face to face with people you should still try to respect them.

You know how some Korean extremists say it's Japan's fault Korea became Korea with a K instead of Korea w/ a C?Because before 1895 today's Korea,or the Japanese Chosun,was called Corea in western maps and,according to those nationalistic lunatics,since the Japanese didn't want "Corea" to come first than Japan in alphabetic order,they changed it into Korea.
This doesn't make sense because occupied Korea was called Chosun,written w/ a C instead of K.

I remember asking about Yulina before, and someone said if I called Yurina Yulina, then I should romanize all other "ri" as "li" too (like "pilili to yukou"). Because it'd be silly to mix different kinds of romanization. (In a way I already do it because I e.g. write Goto instead of Gotou even if I romanize all other double-o as "ou" [err except Ootani and Oose... Ok I suck], but I guess I can be forgiven for that as "Goto" has become so commonly used among all the foreign fans...)
Anyway, I'd say stick to Risako... Risaco looks dorky, anyway :lol:

I'm going to reserve final judgement until DHL delivers my copy but from the previews I have seen so far I wish they would have spent a little more time setting up different locations and focused more on fashion type pictures than simply putting her in bikinis.
She's certainly cute and compared to lots of other u-15 photos these are tame. Perhaps I'm just wishful for better things and should realize what tends to sell the most books.

Her PB is turning out much better than I expected, and I'm glad that her very first solo photobook is really good!
You know what, to all the people who are finding the bikini pictures "disturbing" or "creepy", let's just be glad that she isn't in any suggestive poses; or that she's sucking on popsicles and the like. Because that would just be way too blatant. Yes, it's not exactly 'right' to see a 12 year old posing in a bikini, but what can we do? This is Japan we're talking about. And H!P knows the fanboys will shell out money for this stuff. I do wish H!P as well though would go back to the time when the ones wearing bikinis were at least vaguely LEGAL (15+ years old).
I'm guessing that they realized that Koharu's photobook was a 'hit' even with all it's swimsuit shots, so they decided to push on with Risako's, kind of like; "Hey, if Koharu can do it, we're sure as hell Risako can too!"
I guess, being a straight girl, it's easier for me to appreciate her body in a totally admirable way, not drooling over her or anything (anyone can feel free to correct me about this). And that's how I'm viewing this PB. Risako was the very first H!P kid I liked, and she still remains my #1 for just being so cute and beautiful, her quirkiness, how she's always spaced out and so on. Also, remember that these girls have absolutely no say on whether they want to wear bikinis or not, especially the kids of H!P.

Holycrap Arian, it's good to see that there are at least some people who "get" it (guess it took a female perspective *wink). There's too much "ZOMG, she's 12, in a BIKINI!! ZOMG WRONGNESS!!" and too much "zomg, risako in a bikini....hawt~~ *fapfapfap". There's a very nice (and adorable) middle ground here, people, and we should all emprace it in H!P fandom togetherness~~~.

as for my thoughts of the photobook...i think it's adorable! much like arian this isn't something i'm gonna drool over, just enjoy the utter cuteness that is Risako. a swimsuit-less photobook would've been great but this is japan so oh well...regardless, it's ZOMG cute and that's all i wanted from the beginning anyway, woohoo!~

I still fail to see what's wrong with a girl, whatever her age, wearing a bikini, but I'm glad Arian and Zaius and Harlock got it; enjoy the cuteness, the pics are just that, innocent cute pics, and she's a cute, sometimes beautiful, girl who someday will become a beautiful woman, but this PB is full of cuteness, so enjoy it :D

I don't particularly have a problem with the bikinis but personally I like the cute Risako better than the new sexy Risako. But the PB seems like 50/50 so I guess there is something for everyone.
But something I do kind of not like is that the photographer must have been in love with Risako or something because most of the photos are just very beautiful pictures of her. But in like Reina, Risa, Gomaki, Mikitty..... ok all HP PB's the clothes they wear and the setting are very beautiful. So personally (even as a straight girl) I absolutely love all of their PBs. Because the entire picture is beautiful to look at, like art. Risako's seems somehow low budget in comparison. And since I love her the most out of all of HP I wish they would have made here PB more fabulous (all the fabulousness of the PB is contributed by Risako herself).

She's got a great slim well-toned body. Better than Koharu, who, for a growing young girl, is just too skinny, IMHO. But Risako obviously got no... "feminine assets" to show off. That last shot, with her back arched back is a textbook shot to show of a woman's ass, and it's clear she doesn't have one. The art director showed restraint in choosing her bikinis - they are all very low cut and have that frilly stuff that little girls like to have on their bikinis (and let's face it, even little girls wear bikinis these days). Besides, a full cut navy-blue school swim-team 1-piece swimsuit would be much pervier, given the extent that they are used in fetish porn these days.

Well I don't think Risako was even trying to be sexy in any of the shots, so the "perviness" is imaginary. But its more like the shots that were captured were poses that an adult would make (or be photographed making) not a kid, and thats what upsets conservative people.
I'm kind of worried about what people in Japan will think. After Airi sang First Kiss with Aa! it seemed like she was shunned by the people. Even though it wasn't like she herself was going around kissing player boys, but still it seemed like people really didn't like it. I mean I thought she could become so popular, she was so talented even then (although not as pretty as Risako :D) but it looks like no one liked a kid singing about kissing..... But she was like 8 then and Risako is 12 so..... I hope it doesn't cause problems.
PS. I also love the ballet shots. I think the ballerina image really suits her.

Seriously, as chera said, these pictures only become "pervy" if you want them to seem like that; or to be honest, you may have been influenced by comments saying that it's "pervy" and not even know it. Plain and simple, really. Like I mentioned before, none of her poses in the bikinis are suggestive, they're just very playful and/or artistic shots.
And please, don't start thinking a bikini on a 12 year old like Risako is "Woah 12 year olds like her shouldn't wear stuff like that!! Ewww, pervy!!". Go to tons of other places (especially Western countries), and you'll see girls her age wearing even SKIMPIER bikinis and practicaly flaunting their still-developing assets. Scary, but true. Yet, no one says anything about them.
Admire Risako's body in a completely 'platonic way', until she turns legal. If you want to do so otherwise, well...keep it to yourself or take it somewhere else, not here.

Interestingly enough,Risako's comments regarding her having had second thoughts regarding the shooting of the photobook are striking similar to Saaya Irie's comment on how she felt slightly uncomfortable when middle aged men purchased her materials.
This serves to show how strong Western morals have become imprinted in Japanese Society.Less than a couple of decades ago child models were posing for nude photobooks.It was perfectly legal back then,but now even having a beautiful girl like Risako pose for this sort of innocent book is considered "perverted" or "immoral".
I can only congratulate the photographer on his work.Surely,Risako made it easier for him to capture Her heavenly beauty,but I also feel he was a professional.
The bikini shots were really great,but I liked to see her laying down in bed with that french maid headlace on her head.She was really cute there.Also,that shot with her licking the whipped cream from her hand was simply a masterpiece.

I didn't rule out at all that this photobook wasn't originally catering to the pervy, middle-aged wotas. Did I? I'm sure I didn't. I'm just pointing that sure, that may be so, but others like us don't have to feel "Oh geez, we can't look at this because it's only for the middle-aged wotas to look at and use for wanking sessions!".
And I don't know about you, but it's POSSIBLE to admire Risako's body in a completely platonic sense. I'm a straight female, and in no way am I attracted to Risako in the way that I shall drool over her like some hormone-enraged person who has a 'thing' for underage girls. I admire her body because at such a young age, she's already showing signs that she's going to grow up to be a very beautiful woman and that at only 12 years old, she's already prettier than a lot of girls a lot older than her.

Having a strong sense of morality over something does not make anybody as maniacal or irrational as you are painting them to be and sadly, not all "God-fearing peasants" have morals. Neither do US or Western influences have anything to do with it.
Risako is a pretty child and that she deserves a PB as much as the other girls do. BUT. It is too early for her. There is no way whatsoever that anybody can say with any certainty that there is nothing pervy about the PB because reality dictates that ANYTHING can be construed as pervy or twisted into something pervy.
All that Shirenu is saying is that it is fine to look. By all means enjoy the PB and say that it compliments Risako for the pretty, sweet child she is. Do that, but stop justifying why you are of the opinion that the PB is acceptable.
So why is a PB for Risako not acceptable and a PB of Takahashi is? For the simple reason that Takahashi is of age and Risako isn't? Is it not OBVIOUS enough? I would think that it was obvious.

From what I understand, she said what she said because exposing a 12 year old girl by having "official" pictures of her in swimwear is wrong because it is clear exploitation by UFA to milk the child for their own profit by selling a photobook of the child in swimwear in a society where child pornography is rife. And she (Risako) is being purposefully sold this way for the sake of profit. That's all. Profit.
Coz of this, any praise for the PB therefore follows as being wrong because it's encouraging a continued exposure of Risako and her fellow U-15 to the kind of perverts that there are out there. Following that with justification as to why the PB is 'not pervy' just shows a total blank-out to the reality as to what Risako is being exposed to because of the sale/release of the PB. She deserves a PB yes. But just as the chances are high of decent men getting their hands on Risako's PB, the chances of men with less honourable pleasures getting their hands on the same PB is just as high. It's way too early for grown men to have copies of a photobook of her, with bikini pics no less, to unload their desires on. If that is not wrong, I really do not know what is.

Knowing how mad is people on U-15 girls and their so criticized PBs, I did not want UFA to spoil Risako's cuteness and turn it into a dark side. Thanks Heaven it did not happen (Except from some poses that I don't think that suit Risako's age). Big percentage of the pictures are all about cuteness. This PB has been surrounded of a bad aura and some prejudices, I think. It turns out to be just like the continuation of any set of Berryz pictures in the summer. Now I mention Berryz... You can see worse outfits and poses in BK concerts than what Risako does here. Still, I repeat there are some pictures that were unnecessary, but I guess they have to please every target. Please, don't have a weird mind and look at this PB as a set of cuteness coming from an ace member.
As for the DVD, which is the one that has more risk to be wrong, it's all about Risako being cute and smiling all the time. She talks and she's cute again. I've only watched it once and I probably won't watch it anymore. I don't get Japanese, and I don't know why would I have to look to a Making Of twice. I don't feel like it. But if someone is mad over it, then you might have a problem. I just wanted to see if she enjoyed it, and this DVD claims out she had fun, which is the point when you are at her age. But the great majority of the book I think is gorgeous. The shots, the settings, her outfits. In general it turned out a lot better than I was expecting.

In this photograph, she has just woken up from a refreshing afternoon nap at her school. Her expression is very neutral. In later pictures, where's she's presumably on vacation she'll have a happy expression on her face. But here, there is nothing on her expression - she gazes at the observer with a blank stare, the stare of a person who has just naturally woken from a dreamless sleep. That blank stare isn't cute, nor is it beautiful, but it's honest. That girl has no guile in her character, and wears no mask. It's just her, and nothing else.
Technically, the image is perfect. Look at the way the light passes through her left ear. The way the rear highlights reflect off her hair. The way the the soft light from the window hits her white shirt. The way the shadows on the left side of her face are so subtly lit. The way the alignment of her shoulders and the shape of her tie guide your eyes toward her face. The natural look of her make up. I love this photograph.

This became my favorite the moment I saw it. She's reading a letter while leaning on what seems to be a beam of a house. I like it becasue I can't extract what she's feeling.
Usually seeing someone leaning on a wall, or just leaning on something, gives an impression of relief,uneasiness,losing hope, etc. Feelings can be read through the eyes of the lips but in this picture, there's a hint of happiness in her eyes but her lips are neutral.
The letter. What does it say? Who is it from? Is it a love letter or a letter of rejection? Was it love that she's feeling? It's a mystery. There are a lot of other pictures in the PB that caught my eye, but this is it.

In general I really liked the ballerina idea, and even though this shows the least of the costume she's looking so cute and mischievous. It actually makes her look a little younger I think, but I think she somehow looks better this way.

This one is pretty plain, and you might not even be able to tell thats its Risako (except for her pale skin maybe), but I the picture is somehow very pretty and the way she's standing and holding the shoe, poring the water out is very cute. Yeah. On the new PV, she did look more confident as ChrNo said. She didn't smile like that before. Could it be the reason she became more confident is because of the PB,because of getting her teeth fixed or maybe it's just a sign of growing up, I'm not really sure. But it is a good sign for her. BTW, I had to look up Wikipedia to make this post, so don't think that I have a fetish about teeth or anything :D I'm perfectly fine if Risako chooses to keep her teeth exactly the same as she was before. And I respect her choice is she chooses to get braces. Actually, I'd worship her choice to get braces, but that's another matter.
Counting from the front teeth (the incisors), an adult's teeth are called the 1) Central Incisors, 2) Lateral Incisors, and 3) Canines. In most of her pics, you can't see any deeper into her mouth, so let's stop there.

Frankly, she's stunningly beautiful as she is. That being said, Her teeth are just a bit too big for her jaw, especially on the right side of her face. The left side of her face has a similar problem, but is much less of an issue.
Do I think she needs to get braces or something? Not at all. She's a young girl still growing up. Her jaw will increase in size slightly, and the alignment of teeth will also change slightly. By the time she turns 18 and stops growing, she wont get a hollywood smile by any means. But she'll have a much better smile, than say, Reon Kadena.

Her jaw is slightly off. Take a look at her "I feel your pain" photo, which doesn't seem so explicitely posed. You also see that her jaw is somehow aligned such that she puts more weight on the L side of her jaw than on the right. Does that make any sense? Just see how her lower lips aren't aligned.
In conclusion...... I don't think she had her teeth fixed. She still has the same issues as before: her R canine is too high and angled outwards, pushing her R lateral incisor relatively inwards, which pushes her R central incisor outwards relativel to her L central incisor. Nothing seems to have been fixed.
Something tells me I've put way too much thought into this..... good night.

Chera really spent time in researching them.

Risako is still the best Berryz member. ^.^ She's the prettiest <3 I totally loved her PB! But she looks older than she is. O.o At least same age as me. Okay, maybe not.. xDD (I'm 14.) Or maybe. GEEZ STOP ME.
She also has a good voice which has improved a lot. ^^

I'm not sure if this is where I read this, but I recall someone saying that Risako looks like that she's almost about to cry and I have to agree. Maybe she's uncomfortable with being an idol at such a young age or maybe it's just the natural look on her face. But in the Munasawagi Scarlet PV, you can see from her eyes and in her smile that she's a lot more confident now. That scene where she's putting on lipstick gives an unclear border of her being a cute->beautiful->sexy girl :ONhee:

Very Beauty is by far my favourite Risako PV. She's so much more confident now and it shows. It's a lot easier to watch.

I prefer Waracchaou yo boyfriend (one-sided ponytail! :heart: ). On Munasawagi Scarlet she looked awkward, since her teeth were just fixed, I think she didn't know how to smile XD, and on Very Beauty she looked great, but a longer hair would have been better.

Yeah, I can see where they're coming from-- she does have that look to her eyes in a lot of her pictures. I think Risako has gotten nervous a lot in her performances in the past-- but like you and icarianwings mentioned, she's getting a lot more confident lately, and her smile's a lot more convincing. But Risako seems to have this perpetual pout on her face-- I do think that's her natural look, though.

For me I think Risako's voice is quite nice but she needs more training I guess.
She has a loud voice but doesn't utilize it much. IMO.

She's not gaining weight, she's growing.
How old is she? All girls start to gain 'weight' around this time, it's perfectly common and natural and if some girls don't get it they either don't eat right or are just lucky.
It' just cuz her body's changing shape(yes she is going to get real hips and waist!!) and it needs to put the 'ingredients' somewhere is all.

She has the best voice in the group if you listen closely... example? Her version of Meccha Horidei. I agree with the fact that she does run out of breath during live performance and her voice is not as great as it is in their originals, but give her a break, she's the youngest and a lot of people look up to her... that is what makes her in the Top50 U-15 idols.
She's shy too (HOT).. and sometimes that can be a huge factor to when you are performing.

And about her voice? As Jay said, she's the youngest, c'mon, you can't expect TOO MUCH lol. She's good for her, and she has improved a lot since 2005, or even 2006. Remember Anata Nashi perf. on Nyoki Nyoki Champion? Her voice was terrible XD (altought she was okay on Yeach Meccha Holiday perf. in Natsu Natsu Tour). I don't think they do either. Remember that Musume Dokyu ep with Reina in a singing lesson a year or two ago? She said that was the first time since the audition that she got a real training. I don't think it's any difference with Berryz, especially now that they are so busy. I think they only train them when there's a new song and they have to learn to improve by themselves through lives and tours.
And like Loser87 said, there's no proof of her being mixed. Some even said it was French, not Canadian. It's one of Berryz's mysteries. ;D

Well, they CAN sing better than Momosu, provided they have more training. BUT, they are busy with work and school. SO, there's no time for it.

Well, compared to others she doesn't have a super voice. Miyabi had voice training before than joining, and Momoko loves her fans (no wonder she's the wotas' favorite), so she does her best for them. Risako has always been a front girl (mainly because of her adorableness) so she will have to improve eventually. And compare her younger years in Berryz, at first she almost yelled XD, and now she can hold a note properly. I say, give her time ;)

I was watching the Very Beauty performance that nachdenki uploaded from the Sakura Mankai tour, and just... wow. I didn't used to like her at all., though I have no idea why. -_-; Then I watched Music Fighter, and she was just so darn cute and sweet I couldn't help but like her. Then I watched the Sankura Mankai concert and started crying with her at the end. ^^; So yes, a convert over here!

I'd say Risako is a lot more confident than Takahashi, because of their reactions on shows. You see Takahashi on Utaban at a little older than Risako, she's a bit nervous about talking and telling them a bit about herself. Risako, on the other hand, went on to Music Fighter with some attitude. XD I recall her going "It doesn't matter!" to Nishino when they were in a drawing battle, and her proudly stating "I won!" to Kajiwara after owning him at Puyo Puyo.

I know I'm a bit late with this, but I finally watched WH winter 08 (was keeping it for a reward at the end of my semester)... I squealed at Risako first solo line! HOLY CRAP, what happened to her voice, it's become so awesome of late :D And she has worked damn hard for it too, so even better!
Being so young still, give her a couple of years and Miya might have to watch out... as much as I love her, I think Rii-chan will surpass her vocally, she's caught up fast lately :w00t:

From the 1st H!P forum I was a member of, whenever they talk about Berryz, Risako's names gets mentioned most of the time. The first time I decided to watch a Berryz PV (Koi no Jubaku), I had absolutely no idea who these girls were. The girl with the dyed, bob cut caught my attention the most, maybe because she didn't look like a Japanese girl and I thought this must be the Risako they were talking about. After googling and some Wiki she was indeed Risako.
I agree that she's improved a lot in singing, and she's gotten more confident and comfortable (It didn't show when she was teaching in Yorosen though lol). Before, she looked like she was almost about to cry when she was singing but she's gotten rid of that. She's young and she's got a long way to go. There's a lot of room for improvement.
But yeah. I still blame her. ;)

But yeah, ever since Nyokix2 I knew that Risako could do some real damage with her deep voice( :wub:), and now she's really starting to use it. She has the best delivery in Happy! Stand Up, and I honestly can't imagine anyone else in Berryz bring the right feel to Real Love.

I'm liking her more just because of her recent fashion. :lol: It's like she has her own thing without having one offensively so ('offensive' means 'not suitable for an idol'). :lol: I think as time goes by she might become one of my favs. When her voice is out of control it sounds bad, but when it's in control it can sound really good and it's very different from other H!P members, which is refreshing. 1 マジ夏すぎる / Berryz工房 / 去年の夏に、たまたま休みが取れたので友達とお祭りに行って、そのあと海に行った。そのときにこの曲を思い出した。今やってるツアーでもアカペラで歌ってるが、普通に歌うのもいいかなと。
2 メロディーズ / GAM / ピアノヴァージョンで歌った。音がズレるとすぐバレるんだけど挑戦してみた。

Watching the video for "Cho Happy Song" two things stood out for me:
1. HOLY CRAP Risako looks amazing!
2. Why couldn't this Risako show up in New Jersey??? XD
While many rag on her about her supposed weight issues (I never really thought of her as "fat", just simply having an oddly-proportioned body), my main gripe with her looks has to do with something she can control a lot more easily: her bangs. A lot of times I see her wearing this weird wall of hair above her eyes and it just makes her look awkward to me...but when she pushes it out of the way or leaves a split or two, she becomes incredibly gorgeous. It's crazy how one little detail changes my perception of her.
It pains me to say it but in a group where I'm having trouble deciding who's my favorite, Risako somehow remains my definite least favorite member of Berryz...which is an awkward thing to say because despite that status I still like her. Her personal hair choices aside, she's still generally cute and good looking, and it seems lately that she's finally getting that powerful singing voice under control, not sounding as "shout-y" as before when I first heard her in "Dschinghis Khan" and "Ryuusei Boy". Regardless of where she ranks in my book, it's clear she's an important member of Berryz Kobo and Hello Project and I'm glad that she's still around.

Berryz Kobo's Sugaya Risako to go on indefinite hiatus

Many of you may already know that Berryz Kobo will go on hiatus after their concert at Nippon Budokan on March 3. It's been revealed that member Sugaya Risako will also take a break from her individual activities.
On her blog, she wrote, "After this, I want to take a break and think carefully about my future." She also expressed her gratitude to her fans who have been supporting her all along.
Sugaya, who was born in 1994, joined Hello! Project Kids in 2002. Since then, she has been active as a member of Berryz Kobo.

Maybe she should at least consider succeeding Tsunku as SharanQ's frontperson? His throat condition means he can no longer belt them songs like he used to, Risako is one of the better singers of Berryz, & SharanQ are semi-active anyways
Only thing is with the stigma of being formerly a Berryz J-idol, will she be taken seriously as a legit vocalist of a band of SharanQ's established repute?
