How to Make an OPV

...

"Yeeeeeeee! Everything is perfect!
I want to generate a video from this! What do I do?"
Ok now you go to

Composition -> Make movie

It will open a new window. Some caution is needed here.

On "Output To:" there should be your composition name.
If you click on this name you can set where you're saving to (and the name)

On "Render Settings:" click on "Best Settings"
make sure your quality is set to "best"
and your resolution is set to "Full"

On "Output Module:" click on "Lossless"
make sure that "Stretch" and "Crop" are disabeled
make sure "Audio Output" is enabeled
Under "format" choose "video for windows" to generat .avi
(i'm not sure, but if my memory is not failing on me, in mac this generates .mov ¬¬)
Other formats are possible as well (such as "Windows Media" that generates .wmv and "QuickTime Movie" that generates .mov)

Click on "RENDER" and you're done!
You got yourself an OPV ^_^

"Man! After Effects is WAAAAAY more complicated and dificult to do an OPV than Movie Maker. Why would I use it?" you can be asking yourself...
*** Well the fact is that it realy is more complicated, but now things get interesting!
*** there is some more to After Effects than this.
*** Just give some time to prepare it and you'll see >_<
I needed to put al least four letters... ¬¬'

Nice tutorial, thanks!
I've tried a few video editing software, but I found videostudio to be the most user friendly.
Adobe premiere is really nice once you get used to it (it also has more advanced effects and stuff) but if you just want to make normal videos ulead videostudio should be enough.

I like also Ulead VideoStudio 9 and 10. Some weeks ago I tried their MediaStudio Pro 8 and it's too hard to use.

Anybody has an idea of how (or with which programs) I can make one similar to this one: http://www.veoh.com/videos/e1315496cQammpR?searchId=2809655118373940832&rank=12

This video is a Shabondama Mix Live, the creator used various segments from various Shabondama performances and made this amazing video !

I'd just like to know how to do one like this ... I have Adobe After Effects and a few other programs ... I have a guess of how to do it but I'm not sure.

Are you talking about the parts with multiple performances on the screen at once?(Like 1:14 and 1:32)

You should be able to do that in any good editing program. When you change the pan/crop(That's what it's called in Sony Vegas, I don't know about anything else) of the clip zoom out so the clip is the size you want it to be and position it so it's it's in the right spot and do that for all the clips to fill the screen.
