So I really enjoyed the shonichi! I already want to watch it again and I'm looking forward to more LODs of this stage.
HKT48 makes for a great opener. Starting with that and including four other of their original songs really gives this stage a HKT feel of its own rather than just a shuffle concert of AKB songs. It was interesting how they re-did the lyrics for "Kimi no Koto..." in Hakata-ben too, I don't even know what the last few words are.
On paper I wasn't sure about the unit songs, especially throwing Haruppi, Aoi and Sakura, three of their big members, together in one unit. However, it really worked. Their "Glass no I Love You" might be my favourite performance of it - similar to how the Haruppi, Aoi, Sakura version of "Wimbledon e Tsureteitte" is my favourite. My other favourite unit was "Heart Gata Virus". Especially Cap'n Chihiro. I think she stole me away
there. And then coming back a few songs later as a nurse...
All in all, the member choices for the unit songs were perfect. They stuck similar character types together and chose a song to suit them. Murashige and Chori in a crazy playful song, tick. Natsu and Madoka Temodemo, tick. And Sasshi owned the stage in Seifuku Resistance.
I was quite surprised when "Seifuku no Bambi" (silly name, and yes,
deer outfits) was a 3-nin song. But Haruppi, Sasshi, Sakura are their 3 biggest members. And more Haruppi is always good for me. This was the only song where they really utilised the HKT theatre's front walkway bit and the platform that goes up and spins around. It's great when they use this.
I'm not too familiar with a bunch of songs in this stage so it was good to see - and the other songs I know were done well. Coming back from the encore call to the opening of Aitakatta is quite a thing. And then they suddenly stop, speak, and launch into Onegai Valentine. I really loved the the new original HKT48 songs - and love seeing Team H versions of them too.
Looking forward to seeing it again!
