LeBron's secret... or is it?!!
« Reply #2880 on: July 16, 2010, 01:06:20 AM »
OK so there's this rumor about LeBron James that's being referred to by ESPN personalities but not described at all, some kind of real hot potato thing.

What is it and it is more explosive than the confiscated video of some dude dunking on him last summer?

Hmm. No idea, gotta look at the Lakers boards for that...is it the fact that ESPN guys like Wilbon are distancing themselves from the whole thing? Jim Gray is being mocked constantly? Dwight Howard tweeted a (jokingly) imitation of Lebron? (which is now taken down )

Ah, where all the Hustlaz?

Maybe it's one of those conspiracy theory bombshells, like Jordan's foray into baseball being a de factor suspension from the NBA for gambling.  I just learned about that a few years ago...

I always knew there was something familiar about how LeBron switched teams...

NWO wore black and red...Miami Heat wear black and red...LeBron is switching over after years of wearing red and gold...it all makes sense now.

Also, when I heard about Steve Blake signing with the Lakers I actually confused him with draft bust Steve Logan...totally forgot about the small white guy on the Blazers. XD

Insert JTRI Cleveland Bitter / Beer pun:

Quote
CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland brewery is re-releasing a bitter beer inspired by LeBron James' decision to leave the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.

Great Lakes Brewing Co. says 30 gallons of "Quitness" ale sold out in three hours Wednesday at the company's downtown brewpub.

The beer will return Saturday on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The brewery says "Quitness" is a dry hopped India pale ale that leaves a bitter aftertaste, perfectly describing the mood of Cleveland sports fans these days.

After seven seasons and no championships in Cleveland, James, the NBA's two-time reigning MVP, announced last week he was joining stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

Ron Artest just tweeted this. Lol anyone in the LA area DO IT!!

Lookin fo somethin Crazy fun to do this Wednesday afternoon with a cool fan in LA. Email ideas to wednesdaywithron@gmail.com to win!!!

Maybe it's one of those conspiracy theory bombshells, like Jordan's foray into baseball being a de factor suspension from the NBA for gambling.  I just learned about that a few years ago...

Yeaah. Maybe. The rumours that mobsters killed his father too, due to Jordan's gambling debts. Haven't seen the story on it...maybe something to do with the upcoming CBA?

rare Asian point guard, Jeremy Lin, who led underrated IVY League Harvard basketball to their best season last year and to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1946. im sure you may have seen him. they lost in the NCAA tournament

Quote
if they dont sign Shannon Brown, The Lakers supposedly have an interest in signing Jeremy Lin, an undrafted point guard from Harvard playing on the Mavericks summer league team. The kid is a 6-3 200# point guard who outplayed #1 pick in the draft John Wall when the Mavs met the Wizards in the summer league. This kid is no Sun Yue. Here are the highlights from that game:

Report: Paul Has Demanded Trade To Knicks, Magic, Lakers

Jul 21, 2010 9:24 PM EST
According to a source with knowledge of his plan, Chris Paul has requested that the Hornets trade him to the Knicks, Magic or Lakers before the season begins.

"He wants out," the source told Ken Berger of CBS Sports. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron's model of teaming up with other great players."

NBA sources say that members of Paul's camp told them recently, "He's not going to start the season in New Orleans."

The Hornets will try to persuade Paul to remain based on the team's new direction.

"Paul won't go public with his trade request -- if he did, he'd be subject to a fine under NBA rules -- but those with knowledge of his plans believe his desire to pair up with another superstar (or two) has gained too much momentum to stop," writes Berger.

I'm not sure Kupchak's really the one to blame for picking up players that start shit with Kobe. For example, I heard Kobe himself was looking to convince some of his fiercest rivals to come to LA, like Raja Bell.

Considering how competitive Kobe is, it wouldn't surprise me if he was specifically asking for players who he knows are really competitive and passionate too. What better criteria than the short list of players who dared to start shit with Kobe?

I mean, if you look at Artest and Kobe's recent playoff history vs each other, it ain't too pretty either, but you can't say Ron doesn't have the competitiveness and passion for winning that Kobe appreciates.

Indeed. You need fucking assholes to deal with bitches in the East, who get away with all that hair pulling and scratching and flopping they call "Good Defense" That get under your skin cocksucker, YOU want on your team. To think they were gonna add Raja Bell too. nice tweet:

Its official I AM A LOS ANGLES LAKER. I wanna thank u for all ur patients and understanding. This is a dream come true!!! Good lookn Kobe

So hilarious Kobe swapped out those soft "Ra Ra" type players for guys willing to put their bodies on the line. So Theo Ratliff is older than cheese. If Ratliff can bang for cheap, since Josh Powell is gone 2 ATL, maybe DJ comes back? Read that Luke is gonna retire too cuz of his back :(

Wonder who else the Lakers are gonna add now?

Oh  yeah, LeBron James’ Children Furniture To Hit Stores in Fall XD

"Matt is tougher than nails Tougher than a penguin on steroids Tougher than richard Simmons trying to take off his spandex."

Jordan-esque lakersground had this summary of Barnes on Jim Rome:

Quote
- Yesterday came down to Cavs, Heat, and Lakers. Cavs offering more money, and Heat was just a close move from Orlando Magic.

- Says he grew up watching Magic Johnson and the Lakers. Says he talked with his family and they love CA, so going to a proven winning team was the best decision. Plus it was a "no-brainer" to pass up laying for the Lakers.

- Spoke to Dwyane Wade a couple times. Actually spoke with Pat Riley a lot, with Riley trying to sell him on his vision of trying to build a dynasty in Miami.

- Said Kobe and he were texting/calling each other for the past 2 weeks.

- Said yesterday was a crazy day before making a decision. But later in the day, Kobe sent him a txt message that read: "Anyone crazy enough to mess with me, is crazy enough to play with me", and that txt message sealed the deal, and he signed his Lakers contract later that same evening.

- Says he felt appreciated when his agent told him that Kobe has been calling Mitch Kupchack everyday, pressuring Mitch to get him on the Lakers. Says it means a lot when the best player in the world wants you on his team.

- Says confrontation last season was during the heat of the battle. Both guys playing hard, but at the end of the day, both guys have mutual respect for the other.

- Says Kobe is an animal. He always admired Kobe's game from afar. He played against Kobe during the summer in his college days when Kobe would workout in UCLA.

- Has been looking at the Triangle. Says he's versatile and has added cutting/slashing into his game. And is ready to knock down the easy buckets and the 3-ball if needed.

- No problems coming off the bench, has done it before.

- Knows his role is to defend the best players in the league, get the lose balls, the rebounds, and make the open shots.

- Hosting a Golf Tournament for Cancer (his mom had cancer) tomorrow at 11 am in Wood Creek at Roseville, CA. Trevor Ariza among others will be there (good friends).

Fan in LeBron's Heat jersey draws ire

Associated Press

CLEVELAND -- A fan wearing a Miami Heat jersey of LeBron James drew the ire of the crowd at a Cleveland Indians game and was escorted out of the ballpark.

Fans in the left-field bleachers chanted obscenities and pointed at the man Wednesday night during the sixth inning of the game between the Indians and New York Yankees. Hundreds of fans joined in before security led the man out of Progressive Field.

As he left, some fans followed him toward the gate with more derisive chants.

James' recent departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Heat caused a lot of anger in the city.

Many fans were near the left-field foul pole in hopes of catching the 600th home run ball by Alex Rodriguez.
"Yo, microphone check one, two, what is this? The five foot assassin with the roughneck business"
"Are you my mummy?"
"Hello, Sweetie."
"Who's scruffy looking?"
