Am I the only one that's pissed that Mayuyu is being pushed so much in this group?
Don't get me wrong, I love Mayuyu. She's right up there with Mariko and Takamina for me.
But she's just being pushed to much with this unit I think...
I thought AKB0048 was a chance for any of the members, not just the main ones we see all the time to get a chance to shine.
But anyway, I love this anime and the songs on this single so it's already pre-ordered.

It would be foolish to pretend that they didnt push. The recent past events that have no wonder.
And also we have to consider that the election, she had the second place.
Mayuyu looks good, have a good voice, and aura, so almost perfectly embodies the Idol.
She is one of the leading figures of the AKB new generations.
All these things considered I think they rightly pushed forward.

I said in the chat Mizuki Nana would hurt No Name's sales. In some of those shops I saw Nana was treated as a goddess.
A lot of die-hard anime fans are more likely to buy her single than the AKB48 related one. No Name will probably beat Nana at the end of the week, but I think these sales are lower than what they were expecting. Looking at these sales and the Ninki ratings, the battles for places 2-5 are going to be quite close!

Seems like there's a code or something (valid from 1 Aug to 9 Aug) to access 1 of the 3 types of PV for the third track "Niji no Ressha" depending on the card that you get.

Special PV 1: Nagisa and Chieri ver.
Special PV 2: Yuka, Orine, Kanata, and Mimori ver. (Live KKS performance ver.)
Special PV 3: Sonata, Suzuko, Makoto ver. (Episode 13 ending ver.)

I think there are some reasons why the single sales seems low,

1. No events (akushukai/handshake) -> no reason to buy more than 1 copy
2. No TV performances -> less promotion
3. (let's be honest here) For non 48 fans, other than mayuyu, there are no other famous members
4. The 48 fans maybe only bought the cover with the member's photos, and the anime fans bought the anime character cover
5. The famous seiyuus are not in the single

Nevertheless, I think the single did good seeing that it has no events and (almost) no promotion

The sales are great, as long as you don't compare them to other 48 groups in the process.

At least when this article was posted, this single would be pushing the Top 50 for this year. I'd be surprised if it's not in the Top 100 at the end of the year.

But anyway, I wish it had even better sales, because it's a pretty boss song.

Single sold with ending songs; 1 of 2 CD variants includes original anime music video

"Kibō ni Tsuite," the opening theme song to the AKB0048 anime, sold about 47,000 copies to debut at #3 on Oricon's singles ranking chart for the July 30-August 5 week. "No Name," the unit composed of AKB48, SKE48, and NMB48 idols who won the chance to voice-act in AKB0048, released the "Kibō ni Tsuite" maxi-single on August 1.

Besides the title track, the single also contains the AKB0048 ending theme songs "Yume wa Nando Demo Umarekawaru" and "Niji no Ressha," as well as instrumental versions of all three songs. "Type A" of the maxi-single's limited first pressing features a DVD with a music video starring the members of No Name, while "Type B" (pictured right) features a DVD with an original animated music video.
