I couldn't get a ticket for the SF show, but since I've been looking for an excuse to drive down to LA I decided to buy one for the Hollywood concert, so barring any unforseen circumstances you guys will have to put up with my presence!

I loved Exodus and I just bought her latest album the other day. Now I gotta do my homework on her Japanese stuff...

I just realized that the LA show will be happening on her birthday! I wonder if something special's gonna happen there...I guess it's a good thing that I couldn't get a ticket for SF.

It feels like someone else's birthday is that day as well, but I can't seem to remember who exactly...

In preparation for my trip I've spent this past week catching up on her Japanese songs, and I'm starting to see why those are preferred (especially "Final Distance")...but as far as I'm concerned she's made great music in both languages, so whatever she sings I'm looking forward to a good show.

Have you tried listening to her very first english album called Precious when she went under the name Cubic U? I was surprised at how different she was then compared to now or even when Automatic first came out.

Concert last night at Pipeline Cafe (Honolulu) was quite entertaining. Good mix of English tunes and the J-pop classics. She saved "Automatic" for the end of the regular set and the crowd was rockin'.

Distracted by grumpy security fingering people with cellphone cameras; otherwise twas a fun evening, even though I'm not really a Certified Utada Fan.

BTW that DJ dude went on for too friggin' long. We all had sore feet on the floor and the crowd was already "warmed up." I always expect acts to begin the show after the announced time but really...

Far and away my favourite J-Pop idol, and not just because of her relationship with Kuma Chang or her obsession with Tetris. I pick up on something each time I listen to Hikki's music, which is why I love listening to them, English tracks and all.
