In the calendar year, yes. But the Oricon year was already over a few weeks ago when Aruiteru had sold a little more.

That kinda sucks about the Oricon year....but in a way kinda doesn't.
I think it's kinda good to keep MM at the top for a little longer, just for promotion-wise
Still, I feel really proud of Koharu. I started following MM up to date just after she joined(my 2nd/3rd up to date haromoni was her first proper appearence) woo~ woo~ go Koharu~!

I hated Koharu in the beginning, not really hated, just didn't like her, but yea, she's proved herself in more ways than one, and now I got respect for her...though I hate Aika with a passion...lol

Not making her sing Balalalika in Kouhaku was a great mistake but I guess they didn't want to overshadow Aruiteru, because Balaliaka pwns Aruiteru and every other song last year in H!P. But indeed it would have been a great thing to perform Balalaika, as people is discovering it slowly and liking it and Kouhaku would have been push.

I also believe that the fact that it was for an anime series helped its sales greatly, and kids love their anime
