Lets talk Mortal Kombat. For me personally, I put the MK series as my favorite fighting game series. As far as my limited knowledge leads me, MK isnt seen as much in the professional tournaments and things of that nature. Perhaps that plays a role in my loving it so much. In any case, the newest MK game is set to release in April and holy crap am I excited!

I've never played an MK game and not sure if I should start here. I'll wait til reviews come up before I think about it. I've read about some fatalities though and those sound awesome

MK2 is pretty awesome but I have a UMK3 bias. You can run and Stryker has a gun.

I dunno really, I kind of remember MK as being the cheapest, most unfun to play game ever, and I have many childhood memories of just being miserable playing it, to the point where I was so mad at MK3 on PS1 I actually set it on fire and watched it burn, smiling, rather than trade it in for another game. I hated it THAT much.

In saying that, this new one does look pretty cool, if it actually plays cool, who knows. It seems a lot more polished than usual, and that they seem to have tried hard, but it is an american made game, and USA made fighters generally don't turn out so great, but it's probably going to be better than Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

^Oh man you are right. MK3 on PS1 was a horrible port. Load times were stupidly too long.

I do hope that Ed Boon and the people over at NetherRealm Studios do a good job with this one. I thoroughly enjoyed MK vs DC and keeping those ascetics and bringing in 2D gameplay of fighting game's past makes me giddy.

Wow the challenge tower looks so interesting and fun. I wonder what the last mission is gonna be like and how crazy/hard it will be.

Oh good to know, I thought this was only true for germany, but we will probably never get the demo or the game at all

But as long as it gets released clean and uncut in the UK everythings fine, UK importing ftw!

I think the demo was a ps3 exclusive for PSN+ members, because I had to use my friends PSN+ account to use it.

^ Oh man did you watch the Scrub Tournament when it was live?! I had put an actual bet on Coonce to win it and all

It was bad that GB went down last week, but finding the email from Justin.tv that the GB stream went live and finding out about the Scrub Tournament and listening to Dave taking phone calls was seriously epic. Made me so glad to be a part of it.

Also, throwing is encouraged.
