The 6th Annual JPHiP Secret Santa
Previous Exchanges: 2013 2012 2011 - 2010 - 2009

Secret Santa is a Western holiday tradition in which members of a group are randomly assigned other members to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practiced in workplaces, or amongst large families, participation in it is usually voluntary. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost to those involved.

It's getting to be that time again! Much like the last Secret Santa, the idea is to deliver your drawee some delicious candy, preferrably something native to your country/area. If you're not into candy for some reason, let em know in your wishlist what would be more suitable for you. The general spending limit is $5, but do keep in mind shipping may very well raise the total to $10-15.

If that's too much to swing, or you hate candy, then sign up for the Secret Santa Penpal instead! The idea is to send a handmade Christmas card (or letter, if they don't celebrate xmas). No store bought Hallmark junk here!

Signup Deadline: December 12 - I will draw names the day after, Elfster will in turn send you an email with information on the person you drew. Please only sign-up if you intend to participate, and withdraw if circumstances change.

Please, add your mailing address to Elfster. If they forgot to list mailing info or add in any wishes, you can attempt to ask them questions through Elfster, or (better) ask myself or another moderator to try and prod them for information.

Please, only sign up if you intend to send something. - To this end, you must have 100 posts (or special permission) to take part.

Elfster (the site that is managing the exchange for us), has various privacy features. You address will only be shown to the person that draws you. If you are uncomfortable with certain people possibly having your information, PM me with a list of restrictions you would like for who can draw you, and I'll take care of it.

Woke up today and found an email from elfster saying "Thanks for participating. Now that the exchange is over...blah blah blah" and, being half asleep I was still "Wait, what? Already?"

Anyway, I just mailed mine out yesterday, so hopefully my draw gets it before the new year.

And hey man, don't worry at all that it's popcorn, that's one of my favorite foods, so gourmet Hawaiian Macadamia nut and Yuzu popcorn is AWESOME, plus I enjoy torturing myself with wasabi, so good call on that one too

It was great meeting you in NYC, so yeah we should totally do that again sometime, like hover around in the background while someone films an alo-hello

As for my secret santa? well... it's still here! LOL I've got it all boxed up and ready to go, but on any day that's not a holiday or a Sunday I've been working it seems so finally, tomorrow might be my chance before NYE, but that will delay it again, sorry!!!
