While I do like Riona for her onstage antics which remind me of Anya from PASSPO, and Yui's energy onstage, I still don't quite get palet. Seems like their concept is not so strong compared to the other major Platinum groups. Probably doesn't help when they had so many members graduate over the past 2 years either.

New i☆Ris song - I was a bit surprised to see this look, it's quite a departure from their usual cute upbeat anime songs, they look all serious and it's a rock song (still anime music I assume).

This is not new (last September) but I did a quick search on this forum and I couldn't find it so there... The song clicked with me right away. So good...

Another case of an idol stalker - I think he stalked an ex-AKB member, this report is of his arrest.

They are alright. Nothing to write home about, but I only saw them once. One of them seemed cute, but, y'know, hard to tell behind the masks...

I thought I'd ask about this here since one of you is bound to know.

http://www.nippon.com/en/views/b00116/

Quote
Friedman: A big part of Babymetal’s music is ainote. There isn’t an English word for it, but it’s something like call and response. It is typical of Japanese music, and particularly idol songs are written with it in mind. It gives people a chance to participate in the song and often the chorus, backup parts, and counterpoints are just as important as the lead vocals. You find it in folk songs and all the old pop songs have it. Ainote is very Japanese, and when it’s put into heavy metal you get something that has never been done before. It allows people to enjoy a J-Pop feel, but it’s still loud and very powerful.

I googled a little bit for "ainote". I found 間の手. I don't know if that's what Marty Friedman meant in this interview. But anyway... Does he mean the chants? You know the "hey, hey, hey", the rising "oooooooooo" and so on?

Good example I found

I find it strange that Marty would say this about BM's music because I can't remember hearing that in any live BM footage. People chant the lyrics sure, but real ainote like at other idol shows? I don't think so... Unless my comprehension of ainote is wrong?

I have no idea about Babymetal, but the type of music he is refering are songs like the Beatles "She loves you" with the "yeah yeah yeah." Other examples would be "Please Please Me" or "It won't be long". You hear it a lot in black soul music from those times.
And yes, he means the chants but I assume also specific parts you find a lot in idol songs. Best example would be a fast song, with a sudden slow interlude. Here people kecha (hand movements towards the singing idol). As you are familiar with Passpo, "Love Diary" with it's clapping, "Mr. Wednesday" (uh-uh), "Honey Dish" (chu chu chu, kyu kyu kyu).

The new single from Zenbu Kimi no Sei da, not bad but compared to the last one it seems a bit average
