Quote from: Wikipedia
JDownloader is an open source download manager, written in Java, which allows the automatic download of files and split files from one-click hosting sites such as Rapidshare and Megaupload. Jdownloader supports the use of premium accounts.
...
The program can also be configured to unpack split RAR archives automatically after download.
...
JDownloader supports the Rapidshare "waiting time" and CAPTCHA recognition, enabling batch downloads without user input.
...
Platform independent. (Windows, Linux, Mac, ..) - Runs on Java 1.5 or higher (http://www.java.com/en/)

Here's the main window. Nothing exciting. All things obvious as to function.

After things finish downloading (or fail), here's the ticket!

This is where you add files. It's pretty simple.

(http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/8638/jdownloadersettings.th.png) (http://img249.imageshack.us/i/jdownloadersettings.png/)
Here's a shot of some settings that I highly recommend. There are many options you can adjust, if you so choose.

Add your accounts to Megaupload, Rapidshare, or whatever else if you have them, to take advantage of the perks.

Yes. It comes with HJSplit and and another tool, which when enabled, will automatically regroup the files for you.

I'm not sure what you mean for ISO files, though.

I've been using it for around 1-2 month now, as a solution to downloading MU stuff in HK by switching IPs.
In that regard, it's been pretty successful.

I disabled the auto-unzipping though, cos my HDD is messy and doesn't have much space.

P.S. Mediafire downloading hasn't been working for a few days, checked the forums and they're working on it for the next update. So don't be suprised.

I tried it :D

What do y'all do with the IP issue? Just let it wait? 15 minutes?

Yeah, there's nothing you can do. Because it makes organizing mass downloads so easy, you'll very likely reach the interval download cap often, and just have to cool off for a few mins. Megaupload is one of the best sites, even with a free account, for this, while jpop is one of the worst (and jpop often doesn't have captchas recognized automatically..  :bleed eyes:)

Ahhh. Yeah, Megaupload has some insane amount of download, capped me once - then not. But good shit. Really clean JDownloader i'm digging it :fap

My pet peeve is those people who upload a billion jpop/rapidshare links for where u can post 1 MU link. So i usually DL those files and reup on MU or multiupload to spite them bitches lol

Another feature of JDownloader is automatic extraction after successful download into root directory (if file is archive).

However, it doesn't support a lot of connections as these may cause program instability, so it's not like you can download anything more than 2 files at once (even if they're from different sites). Hence, you can't exactly go crazy with MF links.

I think MU and MF work the best with JDownloader. Resuming broken downloads (say if you got disconnected a bit during downloading) is better than just using browser, and speeds are generally better particularly during high site traffic.

However, sometimes DDL sites update their features so errors occur (takes some time for the programmers to fix). I got this 2 months ago with MF links, some "plugin error" or something. I gather it had something to do with JavaScript not working properly.

one other thing it's pretty useful for.
Capturing youtube links and downing the flv, or just converting the clip to mp4 and/or mp3.

Really? I never tried that with JDownloader. I use OrbitDownloader for that kind of stuff.

The specific browser addon youtube downloaders though are just crap.

Just use JDownloader for everything. It works great with Youtube. And hey, frequent updates! Can't go wrong with it really.
