Latest Ryoko news from Tokyohive:
Actress Hirosue Ryoko has just announced her pregnancy through her agency today on November 22nd.
Hirosue had gone to the hospital earlier this month complaining of a continuous illness. After a medical exam, she found out that she was in fact 16 weeks pregnant. So far everything is going fine for the baby, and it appears to be a healthy pregnancy. She has already stated that she will be going back to work after she gives birth, so fans can rest easy as they will see her acting once more.
Hirosue married candle artist Candle JUNE in October of this year, and they had only dated for seven months before the marriage. She also has one son from her previous marriage, making this her second child.

Just viewed this early film of hers, Himitsu, where she plays an 18 year old whose mother dies in a bus accident and her spirit somehow comes to occupy Ryoko's character's body, left the father in quite a predicament for all the wrong reasons.

Gonna order it from Coolwin Video, they're an okay place, sometimes the subs are not always perfect but the movie is so cheap have nothing to lose.

Actress Hirosue Ryoko has landed a starring role in the upcoming drama, “11 Nin mo Iru!“. It’s been a year since Hirosue last starred in a drama series, and this will be her first time working with popular screenwriter Kudo Kankuro.
“11 Nin mo Iru!” is a comedic home drama about a large family consisting of a jobless father (Tanabe Seiichi), a stay-at-home mother (Mitsuura Yasuko), and eight children. Actor Kamiki Ryunosuke will play the part of the eldest son, and the youngest son ‘Saigo’ will be played by Kato Seishiro.
Hirosue will be the ‘11th member of the family’ as ‘Megumi’s ghost’. Megumi was a former stripper, who was Sanada Minoru’s (Tanabe) late wife, and the mother to all of his children except Saigo. While she’s the same age as Minoru’s current wife, their personalities are vasty different. Hirosue’s character is a wild, troublesome, and proud woman who loves to drink. Even as a ghost, she tries to butt into the family’s business, however, only Saigo is able to see her.
“A vulgar and gaudy former stripper, on top of that, a ghost of a former wife; I honestly thought, ‘What kind of character is that?’ However, the fantastical character Megumi is a mismatched role for me, so I felt grateful to receive a role like that, and gladly accepted the offer,” said Hirosue.
She continued, “We just started filming, and it’s so much fun to play Megumi. It’s not a ghost that’s created by CG effects, so I can be a part of the family, and there is no loneliness. Everyone around me has to ignore my existence, so I think it will be difficult to act. But Kudo-san told me, ‘Do it boldly’ — I want to freely play the role of Megumi until the end.”
Additionally, it was revealed that rock band NICO Touches the Walls will be providing their song, “Bicycle”, as the theme song for the drama.
“11 Nin mo Iru!” will air every Friday nights starting October 21st.

On September 29th, actress Hirosue Ryoko made a guest appearance at the 15th anniversary event for the fashion magazine, “SPRiNG“.
Surrounded by the loud cheers of the audience, the actress walked down the runway for the first time since her debut. She commented, “I don’t have much experience with places like this, so I was nervous.” Then, she thanked the audience by saying, “I came as a guest, but I was given power by everyone.”
The crowd exclaimed, “Cute~!“, when Hirosue walked onto the runway with a charming smile. She also revealed her beauty secret saying, “To always be open-minded, and live life enjoyably to the fullest,” and continued, “I will do my best to continue to live beautifully!”

TV Tokyo’s animal variety show “Pet Daishuugou! Pochitama,” which was on the air from 2000 to 2010, will have its “Masao-kun ga Iku!!” segment turned into a theatrical film. The movie, titled “LOVE: Masao-kun ga Iku!,” will star SMAP member Katori Shingo, with Hirosue Ryoko as the female lead.
The movie is based on the life of comedian Matsumoto Hideki, who worked with the popular Labrador retriever Masao-kun before the dog died of cancer in 2006. Katori will play Matsumoto, an unsuccessful young comedian who one day meets Masao-kun and matures through their various experiences together. Hirosue will play the part of his girlfriend Satomi.
The supporting cast includes Mitsuishi Ken as the show’s director, Narumi Riko as an assistant director, comedian Kinoshita Takayuki (TKO), comedienne Okubo Kayoko, Kanda Romu (Rome Kanda), Asano Kazuyuki, Hidari Tokie, and Terajima Susumu.
Otani Kentaro (“NANA”) is directing. Filming has been under way since last month and is expected to finish in December. Theatrical release is scheduled for June 23, 2012.

I now have a nickname. Nice! I do agree since she's not doing so much of photoshoots lately or even acting projects. 11-Nin mo Iru was the last one and it's not even finished being subbed yet. My heart weeps for that because it was such a funny drama.

Both great songs Yoshino san.....If I had a vote, Daisuki would be in the top 10 of Pop Music Videos in a Global competition.........It's almost perfect in telling the story, it has familiar western pop sounds, but it is has "Cool Japan" imprinted in it's DNA.....You can just imagine she is the daughter of the owner of the Ice Rink, and she is experiencing her first love, but she still has her own identity, and knows when to blow the whistle to stop all the horseshit on the skating rink, in this 1997 MV. The song, which is deceivingly simple, was written by Mayo Okamoto. (She performed the song with SPEED on Yoru Mo Hippare, which was a pretty cute performance)
Hiroko was outstanding in the MV, Luc Besson could have chosen no other actress for Wasabi.
And Daisuki found it's way in a television CM last year, with Kaho's sparring buddy, Masashi Okada. Singing is Yuuko, cellist and vocalist from Noanowa.

On May 20th, actress Hirosue Ryoko attended an event for women’s fashion magazine, ‘InRed‘, at Shibuya Hikarie.
The event, titled ‘InRed Joshiryoku Up Lesson‘, invited 500 women in their 30s to have a talk session with Hirosue. “When I hear women’s [voices], I become excited,” the actress said.
Hirosue, who claims she’s satisfied with both her private and public lives, shared, “The key is to spend cute, fun, and happy times without letting them get away. Also, since elementary school, I’ve decided to enjoy one thing each day.” Regarding her beauty secret, she revealed, “Sleep early, wake up early. When I’m done with everything, I sleep at 10pm at the earliest.”
Hirosue also commented on how she manages both work and private life saying, “During my days off, I don’t think about work. It’s important not to bring work home.” She continued, “I value the time I have with my friends and family.”

On May 22nd, a promotional event for SMAP member Katori Shingo’s starring film, ’LOVE Masao-kun ga Iku!‘, was held at Osaka-jo Park. Actress Hirosue Ryoko and Love, the dog who plays Masao-kun in the film, also attended the event.
Over 60 owners and their dogs wore red bandannas while waiting for the cast at the park. When Masao-kun barked, the rest of the dogs howled in unison to welcome the stars.
At the event, Katori commented, “This is the Masao-kun that appears in the movie! Everyone, we’ll be able to take a walk together today so I’m looking forward to it.” Hirosue also said, “I know. You hardly get to experience something like this.”
With Masao-kun taking the lead, the 60 owners and their dogs strutted across Osaka-jo Park as a large family.
‘LOVE Masao-kun ga Iku!’ will open in theaters on June 23rd.

It’s been announced that Hirosue Ryoko and SMAP’s Inagaki Goro will star in the upcoming movie “Sakura, Futatabi no Kanako” as married couple.
The movie is based on Niitsu Kiyomi’s novel “Futatabi no Kanako“, and it will be directed by Kurimura Minoru who previously received the NETPAC award at the Moscow International Film Festival with his debut film “Meshi to Otome.” They are also planning to show the film at various film festivals around the world.
Hirosue’s role is named ‘Yoko’, while Inagaki will play her husband ‘Nobuki.’
After losing their little daughter ‘Kanako’ due to an accident, ‘Yoko’ strongly wishes to meet the reincarnation of ‘Kanako’. Grief eventually drives ‘Yoko’ to start taking care of the deceased daughter as she claims she can see ‘Kanako’. Though ‘Nobuki’ wants to help ‘Yoko’, he also feel irritated by his wife who cannot accept reality and refuses to look forward. One day, ‘Yoko’ encounters a pregnant high school girl ‘Masami’ (played by Fukuda Mayuko), who has decided to be a single mother, and believes firmly that the baby must be the reincarnation of ‘Kanako’.
Hirosue commented, “This is a movie about a miracle that is led by the power of continuing to live even after painful and sad things happen as well as the power of life. Hirosue Ryoko to star in a new Fuji TV drama as a single mother

It was announced that actress Hirosue Ryoko will star in new drama “Star Man ~Kono Hoshi no Koi~ (tentative title)” that will start airing in July on KTV/Fuji TV. The drama will be directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko (“Keizoku”, “TRICK”, “SPEC”), and Okada Yoshikazu (“Ohisama”) will be in charge of the script.
This will mark the first serial drama in 17 years for Hirosue to play the lead role since her last one in “Mokuyou no Kaidan” (Fuji TV) from 1996. Hirosue said, “It takes a bit of courage to play the leading part, but I was a television child who grew up watching many dramas. Also, my first work was a drama, so it feels like I’m back at home. I would like to create a fun work with all my heart.”
The drama revolves around “Uno Sawako” (Hirosue), a strong-minded single mother who raises her three sons. Her husband left her because of her rough personality. One day, a young man who has lost his memory suddenly shows up in front of her, and she falls in love with him at first sight. Sawako then decides to have him live with her as the father of her three sons.
The director Tsutsumi said, “In a word, it would be an ‘unbelievable family drama’, which includes both family life and love romance.”
The mysterious young man “Hoshio”, whom Sawako falls in love, will be played by Fukushi Sota, and other cast members include Koike Eiko, Onishi Ryusei (Kansai Johnny’s Jr.), Arimura Kasumi, Ishii Masanori, Yamada Yuki, Yoshiyuki Kazuko, and Kunimura Jun.
The drama will air every Tuseday at 10:00 pm starting in July.

It is a tear jerker for sure, but this film, based on the real life of a young
woman who left a lasting legacy to her young daughter and husband, is
very uplifting.
Ryoko san plays the part with admirable skill and does a fine job in
conveying the spirit of the late Chie Yasutake as she prepares her family
for her departure.
