With Blizzard's 2008 Worldwide Invitational just around the corner, you know that Blizzard is gonna do something big to hype up the event. Remember the timeline thing they did last year that led to the announcement of Starcraft 2?

Well now if you visit www.blizzard.com, you'll be greeted by a page which looks like an ice shattering with 3 mysterious symbols. It all began on Monday when the crack wasn't as big and there was only one symbol (the left most one) which turns out to be one of the symbols from the Frostmourne sword from Warcraft. Then a new symbol appear yesterday (upper right) which was identified to be the Hel rune from the Diablo universe. Today, the crack again grew bigger and a third symbol appeared (bottom left), the Protoss symbol.

With still a couple of days away from WWI, which takes place on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29 in Paris, I'm excited what kind of "symbols" they'll reveal tomorrow and Friday since the big three franchises has already been shown. And what will be the big announcement when the ice finally shatters... a new project? release dates for Starcraft 2 / Wrath of the Lich King? Diablo 3???

Time will tell.

can't wait for the announcement; I'm not far from the event but I won't be there -_-
I'll check the live streams for sure

A Diablo III would be definitely cool...

Yeah, there's been a lot of speculation over the new splash.

DIII would rock, but then I'm worried it'll disappoint me.

I think it's about Wrath of the Lich King, definitely. If you look here at the information page for Wrath of the Lich King, there is an ice theme and the eyes look very similar to what is in the center of that shattered ice. Plus they've been talking about the expansion for a long time, so it's about time. Interestingly, when you go to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com you receive the same image of shattering ice with the symbols, but if you go to http://www.starcraft2.com, you don't. This tells me that any announcements that will be made are more than likely not about any starcraft releases. But I could be wrong.

^Yeah it does seem like it'll be announcement for WotLK. The eyes from the teaser matches, although not 100% perfectly, to Arthas. All this teaser and hype over an expansion of a game that's has already been announced... how disappointing.

But then again..... could it be?

I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.

DIABLO MOTHERFUCKIN THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMFG!! First SC2 now THIS!!!!!

Gameplay is similar to Diablo I and II, 3/4 overhead view, point and click style action adventure. Demo showed two classes, the Barbarian and a new class called the Witch Doctor... kinda like the Necromancer. Multiplayer will be played on Battle.net. No words if there will be any subscription fees... hopefully not.

Hmm... 5 years ago I would have been all over this, but now I'm finding it hard to get excited. It doesn't really seem to promise much that hasn't been done in other games...

Hey Avabie,

Actually, the Diablo 3 beta has just been released ! I got my hand on a beta key and I finished the beta with most of the characters so far. Also, Blizzard announced today (on the official battle net website) that the official release will be earlier in 2012. They announced some other news such as the new barbarian skills system (diablo 3 barbarian skills ), and the introduction of the new runestones.

Anyone here at Jphip the beta so far?

Man.... i spent the last 3 days reading up and watching loads of videos of gameplay and explainations of systems etc.

all i can say is that..... i can't wait for it to come out ! What do you guys plan to make as your first character? (any1 here in Asia? gona play we can play together

)

Alot of my friends from home (UK) are playing it but bcuz of the time difference playing together constantly would be difficult.

I'm really really stuck between choosing a wizard or a Dhunter for my first char. The video of the Wizard and jus destroying creeps and mobs is soo crazy. While the DHunter can't nuke as fast but has more survivability.
