Signed ones are given out during the release events. But there are always some that are either left-overs (you can usually get those at Shosen Book Tower, around New Year there are still a few big boxes full of signed calendars, usually a few of each calendar, not just Idoling!!!) or that are sold at TRIO (which is a shop that sells second hand idol stuff but these are usually in small quantities, 1 of each, and not always all members).
And it's not just signed calendars, photo books too. When the photo book is only out since a few weeks, they sometimes still have 10 signed books, but 1 book is only signed by 1 member (they indicate the name on the price tag). There is still a signed Takiguchi Mira photo book at Shosen, it's been there for a few years, I see it every time
Of course, TRIO also has signed photo books, but those are more random since it's 2nd hand.
