Actress Atsuko Maeda began her fashion column ‘Atsuko’s Closet‘ in CUTiE back in May 2010 and continued with a different column that introduced her to new things.In the past she was challenged to try yoga, horseback riding, cooking, kimono dressing, candle making and various other activities that she believed would help a young woman become an adult. After 4 years with the magazine, she feels like she has shown the readers a lot of personal growth and is ready to move on. The upcoming August issue will be her last.In an interview with CUTiE magazine to conclude her column, Maeda revealed her experiences and challenges she faced along the way.“I was 18 years old when I started doing these fashion shoots and I was nervous at first,” the former idol divulged. “I’m more of a woman than I was when I started, but I still have a long way to go.”Even though she feels she has become an adult in many ways, it’s still important for her to have the courage to try new things and continue to grow.
Maeda Atsuko to guest star in drama 'Nobunaga Concerto'October 17, 2014It's been revealed that former AKB48's Maeda Atsuko will be making a guest appearance in Fuji TV's 'Getsu 9' drama 'Nobunaga Concerto'.'Nobunaga Concerto' is a historical drama that follows the story of a high school student named 'Saburo' (played by Oguri Shun) who aims to unify the country as "Oda Nobunaga" after slipping back into the Sengoku Era. Maeda will play the role of 'Oharu', a village girl from Sengoku daimyo Imagawa Yoshimoto's territory. She will help the wounded Saburo who came to seek refuge in the village.The last time Maeda appeared in a 'Getsu 9' drama was 'Taiyou to Umi no Kyoushitsu' back in July of 2008. This is also her first time starring in a historical drama since NHK's Taiga drama 'Ryomaden' in 2010. Regarding her impression of the set, she commented, "I thought it was going to be a NHK drama rather than a 'Getsu 9'. I'm feeling the freshness of a "Getsu 9' historical drama." Maeda Atsuko has 8 cats and 6 dogsNovember 2, 2014On November 1, Maeda Atsuko attended a talk show for Hada Labo presents 'Hada・Uruoi Festa'. Maeda, who often posts pictures of her pets on Twitter, surprised the crowd by revealing, "Right now, I have 14 pets; 8 cats and 6 dogs." Maeda claims that she feels comfort from being together with her pets. "My mom is obsessed with cats so they keep multiplying without me knowing it," she said, "They get along with each other really well." Besides talking about her pets, Maeda also shared some beauty secrets with the crowd, "My skin is dull, so I make sure to use a beauty mask in the morning.
