General Japanese Metal Thread
« on: February 22, 2007, 08:06:27 PM »
I was thinkin' to create this thread for all types of japanese metal artist/band that you want to share... All bands/artist who that you think is any metal, can be posted here if you want... Maybe this thread dies because most of the people here maybe don't like metal stuff... or the idea of this thread don't like to the people...
I hope you like the idea...

So here's 4 of the bands/artist I like.. (I'll try to be fast..)
First of all.. Syu

This guy is really impressive... he played in other bands like Animetal, Aushvitz, Valkyr and now he is in Galneryus which the music is like power metal..

Here's one PV of Galneryus.. Silent Revelation.. I really recommend to see it!!! I hope you like this one... The download worths it...
---------------------> http://www.sendspace.com/file/0tpt00<---------------------
Caps..

and here are three songs if you want to take a look of this band... 1-Struggle For The Freedom Flag 2-Silent revelation 3-Glorious aggressor (the last one is an intrumental song)..
--------------------->http://www.sendspace.com/file/3arxac<---------------------

The second one is Norifumi Shima

who played in Concerto Moon and now in Double Dealer...
This guy is really impressive too!!!... But most of the people hate that he is hardly influenced of the Malmsteen style... saying that he don't have his own personality... and saying that he is a clon (copy) of Malmsteen... etc etc... But the fact is that he is awesome in what he's doing... in how he's playing... I don't care if he is a "Malmsteen-guy"... I really like all his instrumental songs...

So here are 3 songs of Concerto Moon... 1-Tears Of The Prayers 2-Eye for an Eye 3-Everlasting Nightmare (all are instrumetal songs... and kick ass :pen_angry: )

--------------------->http://www.sendspace.com/file/vnwm1l<---------------------

Then, here's Katsu Ohta

Is another dud that seems influenced of Malmsteen... but is not a copy, he has his own style and he plays fu**in' awesome!!! and he's in Ark Storm... who the drummer is an ex-concerto moon dud...

Here again are 3 songs of Ark Storm, all instrumental, and kick ass too! :pen_angry:  I hope you like it! 1-Roar of the Pharapoh 2-Search for the Hidden Treasure 3-Evolution (The last one "Evolution" is a bass solo)
--------------------->http://www.sendspace.com/file/xk8wbi<---------------------

And finally here's Takayoshi Ohmura

This 23 years old dud is another thing.. The music is like shreding progresive Metal-Rock... very very awesome... The song "Pleasant Surprise" is the most knowed about him and one of the greatest of him... so...

Here are 3 songs of Takayoshi Ohmura, all instrumental and very interesting... 1-Pleasant Surprise 2-Dream Pillow 3-In a Rough State (the first one kick ass :pen_angry: hehe lol )
--------------------->http://www.sendspace.com/file/guqe5i<---------------------

Thanks for all the links.

I never really got into Galneryus, but then I don't like most power metal :P   I'll check out Ark Storm, though.

Oh, and you can't have a Japanese metal topic without mentioning Boris and Sigh so consider this the obligatory plug.

Boris and Sigh are pretty cool but I never really considered Boris metal... but I guess they kinda are...

There's this death metal band Shadow... they released like one album a few years ago...  they have a pretty nice swedish metal sound. Also the vocalist is female... though you'd never guess by listening to them.

Boris, metal?

I like the newer Boris. Older drone Boris, I could never really get into. But they dived back into that in Altar, with SunO))). The music was utterly depressing, if I do say so myself.

Well inasmuch as drone is regarded as a subgenre of metal, that's where I'd place them, along with the likes of SunnO))).  In reality they're a little harder to pigeonhole with all the disparateness, but metal hits the mark closer than any other label IMO.

Altar was terribly boring.

Well, I'll certainly give this stuff a listen later.

My personal favourite is the heavy metal band Metalucifer. Not that I have more than one of their albums, but yeah. I'm afraid "real heavy metal" is the best description I can give of their music. I think it reminds me of Manowar most of all. But the only way to know is to listen, anyway.

Right now I'm listening to blood stain child... They're metal-core with emo and everything from heavy metal to death metal thrown into the mix. Even have some nice synth stuff in there, the song nuclear trance is pretty much a trance song. They sound pretty good. If you're not into the screamy type stuff you might not like it though

And they kick ass.

Here's a guy I just found recently. His name is Satoshi Katada and he's a real shredder. Saw him in the September issue of Young Guitar and decided to pick up his album. I was disappointed that the tracks had vocals because I though it was going to be an instrumental album, but it's good none the less. Plus, the song "Blue Rain" features Mr. Scary himself, George Lynch!
Here's the album. I'll upload more stuff later.

As a bonus, here's the song "Finale" by SEX MACHINEGUNS guitarist Circuit.V.Panther. This was a special song composed for the SM Show Finale DVD's end credits, it was never released on CD. Here's my rip of this awesome song.

Sakurajima! One of my favorites. Here's some more SMG:
"Tabetai Nametai Kikenchitai" live at Budokan from 2003's SM SHOW FINALE.

I should learn more SMG songs. The only one I can play the whole way through is Mikan no uta (aka the best song ever). Started learning Heavy Metal Thunder, but gave up for some reason.

Ah. My kind of topic (me being a huge metal head, and all). There's been some great bands mentioned here so far (I love Galneryus, and Sex Machineguns are awesome), but I'm going to have to go ahead and plug Swarrrm. They play some extremely awesome grind, and I love them. I'll upload some for everyone to hear when I get the chance. I also have to mention the all female grindcore band Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation. They're pretty badass, and they're playing the Maryland Death Fest in May, which has me super stoked, and I'm totally going. I'm sure I'm forgetting some bands...
