Japanese manga series Death-Note is to be made into a live-action film.Warner Brothers has acquired the rights to the 13-volume bestselling comic series, which has already spawned three films in its home country, Variety reports.The plot will centre on a college student who finds the titular note, which gives him the power to kill anyone he envisions while he writes their name down on the paper.The movie adaptation will be taken from the first three instalments in the manga series, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, rather than from the previous film incarnations.Charley and Vlas Palapanides have signed to write the screenplay for Death-Note. Their previous credits include War of the Gods and Live Bet.
